I recently ordered oxtail with rice and peas from Cool Runnings in Roselle, and it was an absolute disappointment. The food was sour, indicating it was either spoiled or poorly prepared. Whether you order a large for $22 or a small for $18, you get the same three tiny pieces of oxtail—completely unacceptable.
I believe in supporting businesses that care about their customers, but this establishment does not seem to take pride in its food or its service. It's hard to believe this is run by Jamaicans serving authentic Jamaican cuisine because the quality and taste were far from it.
Save your time and money. Authentic Jamaican food is about flavor, quality, and care—this was none of those things.

EDITED 8/30/2024 I'm editing my last review. I really love the flavor and taste of Cool Runnings food, but the issue is with how much food they give. They don't give nearly enough food. I ordered a LARGE bbq jerk chicken, and it was barely enough for a medium, and there were a lot of bones and no meat in my order. They packed in the rice, but the meat not so much. I understand food is more expensive. However, this is why i ordered a large instead of a small or medium. I am truly disappointed because we spent $50 on two large orders, and it was a waste of money. Please do better Cool Runnings.

Portions of meat are slim to none. Go elsewhere unless you want a plate of rice or a soup with a bone, potatoe and 1 dumpling. This place will make you think there is a meat shortage in the world. Cutting a thigh in half and putting it on someones plate and charging $20 is insane. Most of us drive so just go elsewhere.

ordered Curry Goat with rice and peas and mac and cheese on the side for delivery and received a leftover curry chicken, not fresh and was given wrong order without any type of communication. mac and cheese was dry… i was totally disappointed, NEVER AGAIN!!!

Food tastes alright but they are STINGYYY with meat. I had curry chicken: Looked like ONE little piece of meat chopped in to four. All together It probably wouldn't have added up to anything more than a single thigh. A total rip-off for what you pay.

I use to come here all the time. I love their food but they’re very stingy with their food. I recently came back maybe 2 weeks ago and i ordered a medium oxtail because they only serve medium or large. I saw how little was in there for almost $20, and i get it’s expensive but the serving is crazy. The nice cashier lady (wasn’t there today) gave me more, what i feel should’ve been in there already. Today i go in, order a medium the same girl isn’t at the front. I look it’s barely anything in there for $20 she gives me more it looks okay. I go to my car to eat and I see that for what I paid for that’s a small serving. I call as I’m sitting in front and ask how many pieces they give, the girl went back and forth about if you get tail end pieces you get more etc. Also that she served my plate so she knows what she put in there. This for $20 is crazy, the only big piece I have in my platter has mostly fat the other pieces are visibly smaller. Love their food and customer service but this is not enough!

Sad excuse for a restaurant - I ordered a delivery and literally got the smallest 5 pieces. 2 of the 5 were burned and 2 of the 5 were all fat, leaving 1 viable piece of meat for a large entree.I call the establishment (it’s not acting like a reputable restaurant) to let them know about themselves. The woman refused to give me her name. I called around 7pm and she’s trying to make me understand that they close at 9pm.Last I checked, 7pm is dinner time for most Americans and you cannot offer quality plate of food because you’re concerned with your 9p closing time?If you cannot promise quality food and servings then take it off the menu and don’t offer it.This establishment is just GREEDY. They take your money, they’re literal thieves who do not care about your HARD EARNED money. Have you been inside? The place is a literal dump.Do not eat here. I never will. Rose, the manager… please do better.
