All around an excellent place for a Mexican meal! The food is very tasty, they have an extensive menu, and the place is loaded with excellent Mexican decor. The decor is really charming and makes you feel like you're in Mexico. It's not your typical bland decor. The staff (including Sarah, Paola, and Javier) went above and beyond to accommodate my large group of 30 people for lunch and were a pleasure to work with. They even helped with presenting, cutting, and serving a birthday cake I'd made.

I had chimichangas which you don't find everywhere and they were delightful. BYOB.

If you're in Rutherford go here for a great time!

Let me start off by saying. I LOVE Mexican food, but this place is not it. I order spicy Guacamole which btw they don’t have. So the waitress offered me Jalapeño which is great so I thought. The guacamole to start off with is great for one person not two for the price of 11.99 on top of it being a very small portion it’s fake guacamole nothing fresh about it. You can tell it’s with the fake guacamole and they probably mix it with 1/3 or a real Guac if that!! I’ll show you pictures. I ordered the enchiladas steak which was 20 bucks for barely any meat and it tasted ok. I’ve had better at Charritos in Boulevard east. I don’t care about something being over priced, but quality of food should be good and what Mexican restaurant doesn’t have spicy guac or have the option to make it spicy? I can’t believe they charged me 4 dollars for jalapeño I noticed this after I was done eating. The waitress should have made me aware ok we can make it spicy, but they are going to charge 4 dollars for NOTHING!!! I paid 40 bucks for lunch here. Again the money isn’t the issue if the food was great quality!!!!!! It’s not on top of that when I asked the waitress why did you charge me 4 dollars for jalapeño she said oh that’s our price I asked where did it say that on the menu! No where !!!!!!!! Horrible and who charges 4 dollars for small slices of jalapeño to add to your guacamole!!! Crazy on top of your fake guacamole!!!!! Honestly quality over quantity any day. Their quality of food sucks and could be a lot better. You want to charge people for things and cut corners. No way. Highly disappointed I rather a whole in the wall authentic Mexican than this!!!?

Azteca in Rutherford, NJ. I found your next spot to check out! @azteca_nj offers so much! It’s BYOB, has great food and if you’re lucky you will get a free Marachi band performance! I went for @rutherford.nj__ first night of Summer Wednesdays part of Dining Out Rutherford series! @azteca_nj served delish Chorizo Queso Fundido, Birria Tacos, Steak Fajitias and amazing chimichanga (make sure to add mole sauce)! The flan was also delicious! The service was also amazing!! Insta: @thehungrysw

Authentic and Real Mexican food.
This restaurant has a great chef who consistently maintains the authentic flavor with passion and dedication.
With fantastic service and fair prices ($$), you can experience delicious Mexican dishes, and mexican music in a family environment and a nicely decorated restaurant.
The restaurant is "bring your own" wine, tequila, or beer. You have to park on the street and use the parking meter (Up to two hours paid parking. Parking meter from 8 am to 7 pm)

Great atmosphere and decent food when you get it. We arrived at 6:30pm, sat down at 7:20pm understandably due to a busy day walk-in. We got the apps in about 15 minutes, then we waited past closing (8pm) until 8:30 to retrieve our entrees... They never arrived, I had to request the check multiple times in order to finally get the food in a takeout container. The overall management was the worst I've ever seen, I think this is because the manager was drinking some of the alcohol left by other customers while on shift.I would seriously stay away from this restaurant, horrible customer service.

The food was interesting. Lots of choices but it was hard to get something that had rice and beans as a side. I ended up being talked into getting the birra quesadilla. The side I was told about with this was guacamole… It was alright. When we were finished with dinner we were left to our own devices for quite a while, at least 30 minutes. It took us flagging down our server to put in an our to go orders. All in all it was an ok experience.
