My wife and I had dinner here, food was very good and portions were huge for the price, atmosphere was great but tables were a bit to close but we would definitely dine here again in the near future

Good tasty food. Service was a little slower because we chose to sit outside not sure about inside. I would assume there shouldn't be as much as a difference or give a heads up. Otherwise overall great experience.

Wheelchair accessibility: Sat outside so works and comfortable enough for handicapped.
or disabled persons.

Not really sure what to think of this place. They step close to greatness and then trip in front of it..

Best thing I ate was the picadillo empanada. Flavor was impeccable, but it was saturated in grease.

The ropa vieja arepitas were perfectly cooked, but then the plate was overlined with honey, and arepas are already sweet, so it got into weird dessert territory.

The decor has some cool elements like real musical instruments and a neon sign.. but then it’s also super dark (and this is coming from a person who likes vibey, ambient decor). They really just needed to open the shades to let some natural light in. There was also conga overkill (3 big congas placed between tables) which crowded the space a little bit.

Also, the prices are insane. $17 for chips and guac? If you want more fairly priced Cuban food go to Union City or almost any Rumba Cubana in North Jersey.

Other than that, the service was good and the food came out on time.

Parking: Need to pay with coins or credit card into the machine. No ParkMobile, unfortunately.

Nice little neighborhood BYOB. Would give five star review except it took forever for our entrees to get to the table. So if you don't mind waiting for delicious Latin American food, get to Mambo!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mambo’s in Rutherford, NJ, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the staff, whose friendliness and attentiveness set the tone for the evening. You can tell there was so much thought and effort put into everything.

The ambiance at Mambo’s is vibrant and inviting, perfectly capturing the essence of Cuban culture. I started my meal with an appetizer that was a delightful prelude to what was to come. The flavors were rich and authentic, instantly transporting me to the streets of Havana.

For dinner, I savored a dish that was nothing short of spectacular. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, beautifully balanced and expertly prepared. The chefs at Mambo’s truly know their craft, and their passion for Cuban cuisine shines through in every dish.

Dessert was a highlight in itself. I indulged in not one, but two desserts, each more delicious than the last. The homemade ice tea lemonade was the perfect accompaniment, refreshing and perfectly sweetened.

Meeting the owners and chefs was a special treat. Their dedication to providing an authentic Cuban dining experience is evident in every aspect of Mambo’s. They took the time to share their stories making the meal even more memorable.

Overall, Mambo’s is a gem in Rutherford, NJ. The combination of outstanding food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delectable menu. I will be telling all my friends and family.

The food was AMAZING!! And very reasonably priced! The empanadas are big and the Cuban sandwich is up there with the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend!
