I used to absolutely love this restaurant and the food is still really good. However, the pricing is completely out of control. Since they renovated, salads are now $27 with chicken. Sandwiches $25. I mean the food is good but I can’t go bankrupt eating lunch. I’m disappointed they passed the renovation cost onto customers.

I go pretty often pre renovation and love their chicken sandwich. Although it is a bit pricey, it’s worth every dime. Usually I get the chicken sandwich.. decided to get something new and absolutely hated it. A brick of mozzarella and a couple thin slices of meat drowned in vinegar… horrific to say the least for $20+. Not a big deal I thought, I went back with the sandwich 10 min later( not even a bite taken from) and asked for something else. They didn’t even ask what’s wrong with it, they just said they’ll have to charge me full price.. like at least try to figure out what’s wrong. I was expecting to get a replacement or at-least a 25% off another option but they said no, just couldn’t do anything about it, so I left the full sandwich on the counter and after thanking them and left down $22. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN, WAY WORST POST REDESIGN AND DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR OPINION!! Left me very upset, not even angry!

If you haven’t been to Suprema, make sure you head over as soon as possible. The food was great - I highly recommend the meatballs as your appetizer. I had the Pasta Carbonara and it was delightful. Make a reservation for your next dinner here!
The food, without a doubt, is made fresh, in-house, and made with attention to detail. The halibut was spoon tender and flakey. The rice balls are A1 and covered with the right amount of sauce. The calimari comes with 2 delicious sauces (one creamy, one mildly spicy). The in-house tiramisu is to die for! (Absolutely recommend, even to take home)
All that said, I think the exposed wood ceiling did not elicit the rustic charm that was intended (especially since electrical wiring is exposed and the age of the wood looks too industrial). The interior decor was still very modern and cozy.
In terms of the service staff, I think there needs to be better communication and organization amongst the staff themselves. Multiple times did my party request serving spoons for sharing, or water to be refilled, or some other service request were we met with "oh i will get the server for you" while multiple service staff are running around. What are the specific roles for each service staff? How are patrons supposed to identify who does what role at the restaurant? This is not a comment on having immediate gratification with each service request but rather true and genuine confusion on who should be asked to do what.
Overall would still highly recommend Suprema for your next dinner date. Definitely a local gem and would repeat.
The Food was the best Italian food. I’ve had in New Jersey since I left. Italy service was great. The atmosphere was relaxing. I love the decor in the restaurant. It was clean. They have an outdoor seating. I came here for lunch and had the eggplant caprese stack for an appetizer And raviolis on the special menu I ate everything and had no room for dessert. I will definitely come back here. Highly recommended A+++

I was disappointed with my Artichokes salad. The pieces were very small. I ordered shrimp and while they were good there were only 3. I was still hungry. I also enjoyed my niece's Rigatoni with vodka sauce. I wish I ordered that. The chicken parmigiana and other sandwiches looked delicious . The Tiramisu for desert was excellent.
