Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

Horrible!!!! 4th of July Weekend and 1 yes I said 1,15 year old girl working. Line out the parking lot. Absolutely insane! Whoever is in charge of the schedule should be fired. Go to Ralph's way cheaper, way better, better service, and more than 1 employee!!!!

I went late in the day. There was no line and as always Rita's is amazing

Custard and ices are good, but the consistency of portion sizes and pricing have much to be desired. Seriously, what was it, like $1.40 for sprinkles? Come on...

This establishment is a joke. The new owners who came about a year ago clearly don’t know what they’re doing with their lives. I’ve tried visiting this Rita’s 4 times, so don’t say I haven’t given it a chance. Each time I’ve gone me and those I’m with have had HORRIBLE experiences. While there’s 3 staff members inside, they have one slow person working the window and the other two staff just walk around in the background pretending to do things. Long lines of customers out in the cold and no one cares. Not to mention the staff is rude. You’d think it would just be the teens but even the grown adults working there are extremely nasty! I once spoke to Kisha and she made the experience unpleasant. She tried rushing us and was not friendly at all. Is this who we hire to serve happy families ice? Also their servings and quality have went down severely since the previous owner. I’ve waited outside and no staff saw me, a girl was too busy on her phone. If you want GOOD Rita’s and GOOD customer service take an extra 10 minute drive to the one in East Brunswick. I refuse to give these people my money anymore after they have dissatisfied me and others multiple times.

do not apply to work here lol.. only 3 hour shifts once or twice a week and the staff hatessss you if you ask for more days.. not to mention they constantly tell you not to come in 30 minutes before our shift and think because we’re kids they can inconvenience our whole days..on top of not being able to ever call out ourselfs or even trade shifts. disappointing

Custard is very good. Helpers too. Prices are just a little too high!!

I’m just writing this bc we decided not to go to Rita’s again. First time this year and my last . Too expensive and very disappointed bc it was small also. Barely put any ice cream. We felt like we wasted our money and should have just gotten a McFlurry at McDonald’s bc honestly it tastes the same. The workers seem friendly that’s why it’s 2 star.

(AVOID AT ALL COSTS) JUST LAID OFF STAFF! New owners of the Parlin location since 2025 just laid off a large chunk staff, after GUARANTEEING them jobs! (My favorite employees were FIRED, being a regular customer, it’s not an admirable thing to witness) Including one of 7 years dedicated, just to never work with them. Not cool!
JUST BUY BREYER’S, ITS CHEAPER! Ben & Jerry’s is even a comparable price! BE FOR REAL! It’s wicked expensive anyway!

Rita's of Sayerville gave me an awesome experience! The product was exceptionally delicious and the treat team was extremely respectful and helpful! The new owners are doing a GREAT job and I can definitely see a positive change from before. The store is clean, the product tastes great and the service is amazing! I can't wait to come back and enjoy more of this delicious Rita's!

I've eaten a lot of frozen treats in my day. A lot. Tortoni in restaurants, ice cream sammiches from the corner store, tubs of Häagen-Dazs from the supermarket, Brooklyn street corner treats like pirágua and coquito, italian ices at pizzerias, etc. Like grandpa always said: if it's cold and sweet, I'm ready to eat...okay, I'm lying, he never said that. I just made it up... but it's a credo to live by. Anyway, love ice cream but frozen custard (made with eggs) is better. Love Italian ice but homemade ice with stuff in it is better. Rita's has THE BEST Italian Ice and THE SECOND BEST frozen custard (after that banana custard place in Coney Island. Enjoy both with a "Gelati" as they call it. Mine was black cherry ice and vanilla custard. Amazing.

The people working there are extremely rude & do not care at all about good service. I just called & was lied to by a girl who says her name is Jordan , when I asked to speak to a manager . Do better .
