I know this isn’t considered soul food, but this place definitely cooks for the soul. This is hands down one of my favorite places. I’ve never been disappointed with the food or service.

Instant food poisoning. We went at night so I’m assuming they left the meat out all day and still served it to us. My husband and I bought the carne guisao with arroz and both of us have been sick ever since. I had to stay home today because I can’t go far from the toilet. Would never eat here again. Be careful coming here near closing or they will sell you spoiled meat.

I don’t know where should I start… My boyfriend recommended this place because the food is supposed to be “good.” I called to place a takeout order, and when I got home to eat, the food was in terrible condition. I ordered beef with onions, but the meat was tough and cold like it had just come out of a freezer. The black rice was clumpy and had a sour vinegar-like taste, as if it was going bad. I also ordered mashed potatoes, which were also turning sour.
I called and explained the situation to one of the workers, and instead of trying to help, she scolded me like it was all my fault. I was just looking for a solution. I feel really frustrated and still hungry.
Think twice before ordering food from this place.

Ordered the goat with rice. And a small beef with onions. Goat was mostly bones. Not worth the $27 plus tax. Food tasted excellent. The meat was not dry.
