Sat at bar . Only 2 people in there besides another very loud woman sitting at the bar . She and the bartender ( she was also loud ) didn’t seem to have any consideration that we were sitting there as well . The food was excellent but the noise level was unacceptable . Probably won’t be returning any time soon , was not a good experience

Soooo. I went with a group of 20. That is always stress on the staff. Everyone kept a positive attitude and they did their best to provide good service and they mostly hit the mark. Sam and the bartender get kudos. My issue is with the food. The filet was cooked with 0 seasoning that I could taste. I tried some other bites and it just was so so. Give it a shot.

This was our first time here - wonderful everything! We got a ceaser salad, calamari, and burgers. The staff were very attentive and the wait was not long at all - we went around 5pm and sat in one of the booths. Lovely homey atmosphere in the restaurant.
Lots of parking available, the restaurant is somewhat limited in space so the staff recommend reservations.
The ceaser salad had great flavor - not overwhelmingly fishy taste that some salad dressings have while still being noticeable.
The calamari was crisp fresh and came with lemons and tomato sauce. Wonderful!
Finally the burger - I got one cali style, it same with a good amount of lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. Also a side of mayonnaise and ketchup for the fries. The burger was juicy and wonderfully cooked to order. The fries were crisp and of a good side portions. Left filled not but overwhelmingly stuffed. Will go back again!

This place is a hidden gem. We have lived here for 20 years and had never eaten here. We heard great things and gave it a try. Sarah Jane’s did not disappoint. The filet was tender and flavorful, hamburger was cooked to perfection, shrimp parm was excellent, and the homemade dessert topped it all. We will be back. Wish we had discovered this sooner!

After years of driving by this place we finally had an opportunity to try it a few weeks back and are sure glad we did. The place is very unassuming and could be considered a little divey but our experience was so good we have been back every week since. The food is simple but well executed and the service has always been friendly. We have ordered and enjoyed the French onion soup, the burger which is always cooked perfectly and served on a homemade bun, the chicken and shrimp parmigiana and everything has been solid.

You should go on the day that Angela is working because she’s a hard worker and personable. Very nice lady. They need to repurpose the parking lot and mark parking spaces. The inside decor could be updated. The food is always good here, especially the French onion soup. I had tried the seafood one time before and it was a little uncooked but more over. It’s a good establishment.

Sara Jane’s is a slice of Americana. There are many classic dishes that I have enjoyed. Their calamari is simply the best I have had . If I would recommend one thing it would be their burgers. I have been told that many places serve the best ones. Well that is actually true here . Great quality meat cooked to perfection. It’s one of the few places I will go for them now. Cindy and Jimmy are amazing and will make you feel welcomed and happy :)

This is truly the best kept secret anywhere in NJ. We went here pre-covid and the meal was excellent (seafood). We revisited last night and still excellent (seafood again). Friends had chicken parm and a burger. I gave the atmosphere in less star only because the decor is old school but I like it. Feels homey but I want to visitors to understand it's not a chain. Definitely stop in. Fun little bar to the left as you come in. Prices are reasonable.

Our server informed us that there was no drink menu and the specialty drinks were written on the board near the bar. After I got up from out table and took a picture we were able to order our drinks which took about 12-15 mins to arrive. Once we received them (they were just ok) we decided we didn't want to stay to eat anything. The server was very rude when she dropped our check and when she came back with out receipt. She seemed annoyed that we had decided not to order food.
