New owners and it's not as good but still pretty okay. Both times the bottom of the pie was pretty burned. Probably not cleaning the oven enough, or its old. I suggest screens under the pie. Slip it under once the pie is cooked a little and no more burned bottom.
This is an odd review. I’ve had J&S in South Amboy on my radar for a while now. I love a good Upside Down pie and heard good things about them. But I’m not in the area often when they’re open. So today I was in the area. I go in, order a large upside down. I wait. They gave me a regular cheese pizza. I don’t know if it’s language barrier, maybe the tv blaring and it’s loud, I dunno. Finally, an actual good slice of pizza in South Amboy! The vodka chicken Parm is great, the grandma Sicilian was amazing. The sauce is appropriately tangy (not sickly sweet like other places in town). I can't believe it took me this long to find this spot, but I'm glad I have.
