THE RESTAURANTThis place is a beautiful hidden gem right next to the canal river. It’s tucked away into a small south bound Brook town and just down the road you can park and walk the canal. Ovations boasts a parking lot with ample space. If it’s full, you can park along the street! I wouldn’t wear sweatpants here. Dress respectfully and you’ll be much better received. Don’t over do it, just don’t dress like you’re headed to Walmart at 9pm for that toilet paper you said you’d get after work ??THE FOOD: braised beef and risotto has always been solid. The flat breads are good as well if you’re interested in a lighter meal with a drink.THE DRINK: I’ll be honest, not a big drinker but the drinks I’ve had, give me a buzz. The serves are friendly so if you vibe well I’m sure you’d get some good drinks. That being said, alcohol is an extremely dangerous substance, it can lead you to choices that will change your life negatively forever.THE CANALBound Brook isn’t the safest area in the world, but the canal is on the SOUTH bound Brook side. So long as you’re smart and aware of your surroundings, you can confidently enjoy a walk!Parking: Ample private parking, and street parking is very convenient

The food was great and the hostess was very accommodating. We went on Valentine's Day. The restaurant was very busy and short staffed. The hostess made everything right that went wrong. I will definitely try again as I feel I wasn't able to take in the full experience. Had we not gone on a holiday I am sure the rating would be a 5. The decor was warm and cozy and very inviting. While they have a children's menu and children are most definitely welcomed, I found the restaurant to be more of a date night, girl's night, or networking restaurant.

Food and service was excellent. The chef, Tony, visited our table and made some excellent recommendations and even tailored the preparation to my wife's preference. The menu was a little pricey but the food was so good! This restaurant was an excellent choice and we will return.

Sleek upscale decor creates great ambiance. Excellent attentive service. Rice balls hit the mark but calamari didn't (undercooked and chewy). Strip steak and tuna steak entrees okay but nothing special. Overall a very average dining experience.

It was a Monday Holiday, and no one was there but 3 of us and our first time at Ovations. But the food was great..delicious and prepared perfectly. Will definitely go again and again.

My husband and I went for our 1st time for date night. Absolutely fresh and delicious. My husband had the special, Mahi Mahi. I had the special New York strip. Both were cooked to perfection. I have been looking for a place that has good fried calamari. I have to say I was not disappointed. So damn good! Also, the martinis were so yummy! We will definitely be returning.

Went for Valentine's Day dinner. Very busy and understaffed for the holiday. Tables were waiting for their food, to make a food order, or even to be greeted. They squeezed some extra tables in to maximize capacity, which made it a bit uncomfortable being close to other guests. The menu was a special limited menu and a bit pricey for the holiday, which is understandable. Food was tasty, including dessert, and the cocktails were also nice. In fairness, this place is probably fine on a non-holiday. Servers/hosts were friendly, it's just tough to please everyone while understaffed.

I loved the atmosphere. The service was fantastic. The only huge disappointment was the vegetable risotto with shrimp and scallops. I love salty foods but this was over the top salty!!! We were celebrating a birthday and I did not want to ruin it by sending it back. I don't think I'll return because now looking through other reviews several other people commented on the dishes being too salty as well.

Ovations always treats us like family there. From the open arms welcome, the heartfelt service to the tasty and delicious meals and drinks. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back. We love this place.

Our Christmas lunch was terrific! Ovations never disappoints in food or service. Two of us had the lobster ravioli which was outstanding. The teramisu for dessert was delicious. The price was moderate, which was amazing considering the quality of the food. Ovations is always a reliable choice for lunch or dinner.
