A true gem of restaurants in Livingston, NJ. The delicious food reminds me of the fantastic food we tasted in Italy. This is very different from most Italian restaurants in America. The presentation of the food is superb and the food is amazing. Be prepared for an epicurean feast followed by delectable dessert. Prices are very reasonable, in addition.

One of the best Italian dinners I've ever enjoyed! Silvio is a great owner, host, chef. The food, including the appetizers were spot-on delicious. The bread was spectacular. We celebrated our daughter's engagement and my 74th birthday and it was excellent. Silvio, Mateo will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For a place with high chairs, it was shockingly unfriendly to children. But apparently they are friendly to grown adult waiters throwing tantrums and touching people inappropriately.
The food was bland, cold but with somehow overcooked pasta, and way too salty for anyone’s taste.

TLDR; if you want bad salty food, have half a bottle of wine spilled on you, ruining all your clothes and bags, belittled and assaulted by the waiter, this is the place for you.
Never in my life have I received such terrible service. I came here with my friends and our kids. The waiter is rude and unprofessional. The waiter said an off putting comment to my wife about her bag: "is that a mommy bag?"
The waiter spilled wine on me and all over our things. I asked for the manager and the waiter said he was the manager and wouldn't compensate or credit anything. After asking around, we figured out who the real manager was and he comp'ed my meal and gave some apps and dessert. The manager asked my wife in a snarky tone, you get credit, smile!
The waiter asked our table who made the reservations and my friend said that he did. The waiter complained that we have too many kids here.
At the very end, the waiter came up to me to "apologize" and pinched my cheek like I'm a little kid! I'm livid!!!

Six of us had dinner at Baccone South and our food was superb! Silvio is always so gracious and welcoming. My dish, sesame encrusted tuna over black squid risotto w mushrooms was absolutely incredible! All others were very happy w their food, too. It’s small and rustic but the food can’t be beat.

Well, personally, I didn't like my choices. But the food was good. The owner is a little intense especially with the employees. Small and dark. Nice welcome but expensive for what it was, however the portions are generous.

Do not miss this hidden gem of a restaurant. One thing I can always say about this place is every time I go, I have no idea what I’m going to get because there are always great new specials.
