Elitist Coffee

Went here on a whim today and am happy I did! The relaxed vibe was nice and staff was welcoming and courteous. Earl’s Croissant was top notch, just be prepared for the spice! The Cuban Latte was smooth and tasty (I’d recommended another espresso shot if you like a little more bite like I do). The space is huge and the overall aesthetic, from music to furniture, was beautiful. If you find yourself in the area, give them a try!

Prices are kinda insane. 2 coffees were $20 after a 15% tip (one drip coffee one americano). They kept asking me what kind of milk I wanted in my Americano. Also, they didn’t seem to understand when I tried to ask for a half-caff iced americano. Will definitely not be returning

Hubby and I went. We Love the vibe, ambience. Spacious, comfy. Had the turkey bacon, muenster cheese and egg on a large fresh croissant and a cuban coffee with oat milk. DELICIOUS!! Will be back with my girlfriends!!

The place looks cute, but the vibe is totally off, or it was the day my husband and I came in with our toddler, who proceeded to smile at the barista, who literally just stared. I ordered an iced coffee from the said barista who couldn’t have been more cold, as were their co-workers, without a thank you or greeting or even a smile. The coffee was watered down and tasteless and also over 7 dollars. Next time, please have a welcoming attitude towards patrons, and a well-behaved friendly toddler shouldn’t be greeted with bad vibes.

Elitist Coffee is such a cozy spot in South Orange. It’s Black and Mother-Daughter owned, and a small business elevating the coffee lover’s experience. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and the vibe inside just makes you want to relax and stay awhile. The food is fresh and delicious, and I don’t mind paying a little extra because the quality is truly there. And their coffee? Incredible — they roast and brew it themselves, and you can taste the difference. Highly recommend! This place is for those of us who appreciate a great atmosphere and quality experience.

Very nice place. Staff was friendly and Cuban latte was delicious. Next time I’ll have lunch, the menu looked good. They appear to have the same political views as I. Support immigrants. I’ll go back the next time I’m there. Carry cash; it’s a $10 minimum for credit/debit cards. Black and women own this place. I’ll definitely be back when I’m up north!

The café was quite dark, and the $8 price for a small cappuccino felt excessive—especially with a $10 minimum for card payments. Spending that much on a small cappuccino seems unreasonable.

Unfortunately I enjoy their coffee but not their over pricing and the attitude of their baristas. I will not be back because I don’t need eye rolls and attitude while purchasing a coffee for over $7.

$10 for one coffee and it was made wrong the first time and really light. Barely any coffee flavor

Past few drinks have not matched the price (a latte and lavender lemonade). Danishes are definitely good though overpriced. The hours of operation also aren’t catered to the person working 9-5 and would want to stop in for a coffee before or after work. The atmosphere is nice although the wait time is long even when there isn’t a line.

I ordered a latte to-go and was really disappointed. It was extremely bland—tasted like plain milk. I asked if it even had coffee in it, and the barista said it had one shot, but I could barely tell by the taste or color. When I pointed this out, the staff didn’t seem to take it seriously. The staff also seemed inexperienced, struggling to find the right lid and swapping it multiple times. Won’t be returning.

I toppled upon this spot after getting a massage. I’d definitely go back. I got the iced chocolate chip latte with oat milk. Very delicious.

The most excellent coffee, pastries and staff. I enjoyed meeting the owner who clearly has established a beautiful cafe that is well thought out with, High-Art adorning the walls of this loft like space you can get lost in while enjoying the best coffee Ive has since my coffee shop ☝️🏾💕 Thank you for being here we will be back every chance we get!
