Anticipation was that I am going to an old school Italian restaurant with 90 years tradition. And that was exactly what I encountered. Simplified old look, polite and hospitable workers, and good food. Portions are ridiculously large. One of the times I went was during their September Wednesday deals when you can order a pasta and get another one for 1$, and I expected due to promotion that servings might be slightly smaller. Since I ate one and brought the other one home, I measured it and it was 3.2 Lbs portion!!!

Oh yeah, it's BYOB, so bring some wine to complement your food

Had an awful experience tonight. Sat down at 5:45pm and ordered a pie, plain pasta with butter for my kids, shrimp marinara over broccoli, and penne vodka with chicken and mushrooms.

By 6:45pm, nothing had come out. We asked a few times to check and very nicely asked if there was any way they could bring the plain pasta for the kids, but the waitress barely acknowledged us.

The pizza and pasta finally showed up around 7.

By 7:15 we just had enough so we asked them to just pack everything to go when it was ready. Meanwhile, two tables that sat after us had already eaten, paid, and left.

At 7:30pm we finally got our food packed up and headed out. Unfortunately, instead of shrimp marinara, we had a container of plain broccoli. No shrimp, no sauce. I walked back in and showed it to the woman at the front who refunded me and told me to keep the broccoli.

When we got home, we also found the penne vodka had no chicken or mushrooms. I went back again for a refund, and the old man at the register told me the dish costs the same with or without chicken and I should just deal with it. I told him that I didn’t get what I ordered and would like a refund, so he threw $20 at me and told me to leave.

Look, I can understand being busy. I can understand kitchen mistakes. I can even understand tickets getting mixed up so other tables get served first. But what I can’t understand is rude service.

With all that said, the pizza is very good. Everything else was very meh.

Just avoid the place. Thghe little lady at the counter doesn’t know what the hell she’s doing. We waited 25 minutes and never got seated while the place had plenty of empty chairs because she was too busy distributing outgoing orders.

Family restaurant, cash only. A lot of boisterous parties, even as BYOB and no corkage fee.

I am from Maryland, was passing thru on the way home. The food was excellent. The Tony salad was so good, got a meatball pizza that was delicious also. Got two pasta entrees, chicken Marsala and one other I can’t remember the name of. Both were delicious. Price was good especially for the area.

Great pizza, some of the best in Nj. No slices only pies. Cash only dining although they do have an atm on site.

Seems to be a popular place in town, but I have to wonder why. To be fair, we came when it was very busy and waited a long time for food (over 40 minutes). Pizza, their staple, was just OK, the kind with watery sauce that falls off the crust. Asked for an iced coffee and the server didn’t know it was on the menu (very average). Best thing was the arugula salad, which had a tasty vinaigrette. The reviews are somewhat misleading because they don’t serve alcohol, it’s BYOB. Also cash only which is an inconvenience, but they do have an ATM in the place at least. But all in all, meh.

I attended the Retirement monthly dinner with co-workers and good friends every 1st Wednesday of the month. Food is good, though parking can be a problem if you're dealing with joint ailments like myself...you have to bring your own wine or beer. Service has always been very good considering that our group can be from 5 or 6 to over 30 people.

The size of the dishes is very good. I gave 4 stars because the soup wasn't good, but everything else was ok.
