An excellent spot with incredibly kind, friendly people working and really solid food and coffee. When I'm nearby, this is the spot I go to for morning coffee no question.

The Order NJ has the coolest vibes in South Orange and every visit feels like catching up with friends (the staff). The lattes are real, quality coffee shop lattes, not watered-down versions you find elsewhere. Every dish is spot on, with perfect portions. Great conversations, amazing food, and the best atmosphere in town. Easily the best café in South Orange!

this was some of the best brunch i’ve ever had in my life. the white chocolate chai was delicious, i got the hermione on a ciabatta and it was actually life changing. i need to eat this every day for the rest of my life. my girlfriend got the dobby and she loved it so much. perfect amount of food and for such a good price. we will be back soon trust! also we’re both huge harry potter nerds so we loved the hp inspired menu!!

First, I was turned away from bringing in a Starbucks coffee that I had in my hand as I was looking to have a full breakfast.
After looking for another place to have breakfast close by, I subsequently finished my coffee and went back in. Though there’s only one table seated, I was warned by the server/host that because of their “homemade” breakfast that it would take 30 minutes to get my food. Without even knowing what I was ordering, they told me this. Knowing the menu from looking at it previously, it was unfathomable to understand why any breakfast plates an empty restaurant could take 30 minutes to get to me.
So between the coffee issue and the food delay and not feeling welcomed here at all, I happily found Jackie&Sons down the street and had an amazing breakfast of similar magnitude that was at my table within 10 minutes. and a place that has gained my business from here on out. I would never attempt to go back to this place again after not feeling welcomed nor in a restaurant, that obviously knows how to retain customers, nor can’t seem to know how to get a breakfast plate out in less than 30 minutes of all things.

I have been coming to The Order now almost every week for lunch for just about 2 years and I can confidently say it is the best restaurant in the area. Not only is the food delicious, fresh, and timely, it leaves me feeling refreshed and energized every time I eat here. They are mindful and caring of the ingredients and how everything is cooked. They even use reverse osmosis water in all their drinks! The place is family owned and it shows. Sheldon and Wilma are always at the front and they will know you by name and take care of you like family after just a few visits. They and their staff are incredibly caring and kind. A special shout out to the chef for working so hard and making me food that keeps me coming back for more - that man deserves a raise. Whether you're coming alone or with a party of 10+, you can always expect exceptional service.
Thank you guys :)

I recently worked from here and loved both the atmosphere and the food. I had surgery yesterday and can’t drive, so today I dragged my sister-in-law to take me here because I was craving their “Kat” pancakes and pistachio latte. When I walked in, I was greeted by who I believe is one of the co-owners, and the positive energy in the room was instant. He was so friendly and genuinely kind. Great food is one thing, but when you pair it with such welcoming, positive vibes, it takes the whole experience to another level. I’m an iced latte addict and can say I truly enjoy their flavors so this is 10/10.

Great spot for unique breakfast and lunch items. Order on your phone. Everything is made from scratch when you order it so don't expect diner speed service. Really tasty omlettes and sandwiches.

I used to love coming here to dine with friends but unfortunately yesterday was the last time I will ever step foot here. My friend wanted to order the waffles that came with bourbon infused maple syrup so she respectfully asked the waitress if there was an alternative for the syrup. Instead of providing a straightforward answer, the waitress gave attitude and made my friend feel like she was being difficult. When we go out to eat, my friend and I take extra measures to avoid alcohol for religious and dietary reasons. We have never had an issue when asking about alcohol in a menu item but this waitress made my friend feel unwelcomed. I hope that management pays closer attention to their employees to ensure respect is coming from both ways and no guest feels embarrassed and unwelcomed.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s necessary to share my experience. I visited this restaurant recently and was shocked at how dismissively I was treated when I simply asked if a particular item could be served without alcohol (more specifically, the bourbon-infused maple syrup) or if an alternative existed. Rather than giving me a straightforward answer, the waitress responded with visible attitude and made me feel like I was being difficult for making a perfectly reasonable request.

As someone who avoids alcohol for religious and dietary reasons, I expect to be treated with the same respect as any other guest. Instead, I felt embarrassed and unwelcome. Hospitality means accommodating all guests with courtesy—and unfortunately, that was completely lacking here. It’s a shame considering this establishment is South-Asian owned and I thoroughly enjoy their food.

Needless to say, I won’t be returning, and I hope the management takes this as a reminder that basic respect goes a long way in creating a welcoming environment.

Love the menu here! The Harry Potter theme is cute and everything is delicious. The only thing is the kitchen is very small, so the wait times can be very long on weekends. We have been told that we can be seated but because of the kitchen, it may take over an hour to get our food
