Food looks good but I wouldn't know how it taste even though there were four empty tables they told us they were full.the white couple in front of me they set at a table for six with no problem even though it was just the two of them but I guess because we were a black couple. There was no room at the inn

It was a nice dinner. The service was terrific because the one person there, presumably the owner, enlisted several patrons to help out with food service. It was very funny. The food was good, Ethiopian, the place was charming.

I had a very poor experience with Walia. I put an order through Uber Eats and they called me and gave me many different reasons for why my food wasn’t going to come. First they said they were out of the food, then they said their Uber app wasn’t working, then they said the Uber driver’s card wasn’t working. After 15 min of getting nowhere they told me to call and complain to Uber for their own machine not working. Frustrating

A birthday dinner was in order and Walia was up to the task! Love, love, love Walia We had a meat plate for two and an appetizer. You must visit this place. It's a gem and the staff are stars.

I'll say this about one restaurant, and one restaurant only...This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE restaurant! Moreover, this is my daughter's and wife's favorite too, which is astounding, since none of us agree on anything ever!Ethiopian food was new to us 15 years ago. Since then, we've tried a bunch. Truth be told, I loved every one. But Walia is in a league of it's! The food is beyond words! Atmosphere is simple, but pleasant (part of the charm). And the staff and the owner in particular as as warm and friendly as your grandma would be if you stopped by her house on a Sunday! We stick to the vegetarian dishes only, and every single one of them are incredible! Very hard to pick just 4 or 5!Unless you're daring, request it mild!

Okay service but I would have to say the service surpassed the food which is by my rating is on the higher side. We didn’t really enjoy the food as we thought we would, though they were nice people. I just probably wouldn’t return.

I lived in Ethiopia and in LA so I'm used to good Ethiopian food. The people at Walia are super nice, but the red lentil wat (stew) was not fully cooked (lentils were still a little hard) so I had to cook them another 15-20 minutes at home. I'm also used to wat with more sauce since that's where all the flavor is. Not bad, but could be richer and more flavorful.

Delicious! Best Ethiopian food in NJ! The yellow lentil dish is my favorite!

Decided to come here for dinner on a weekday while visiting the downtown area. Restaurant is located very close to Starbucks, parking lots and train station. There was a good number of people there even on a weekday. We ordered raw Kitfo with gomen and misr. Everything was prepared perfectly from the food to the customer service. Keep in mind that since you traditionally eat with Injera as your utensil, they typically don't provide unless you specifically ask. Will be back to try their other dishes.
