Firehouse Grill in South Plainfield is the real deal — a perfect old-school joint that still delivers amazing food every single time.
This place has that classic, no-frills diner energy that just feels right. You walk in and immediately know you’re somewhere special. The food is consistently excellent, portions are solid, and the whole experience feels genuine.

No frills flat top/fry shop. Good, filling, and reasonably priced. Service is friendly and the chili hits just right on a dog or fries. Reuben was also top notch, as is the Italian hot dog. Our go to place to pick up after an afternoon of bowling or when you just need some comfort food.

This is a lovely diner with great food and even better service. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive. My only heads-up is that the space is quite small and cramped, so it can feel a bit tight during peak hours. Still well worth a visit!
