What a shame — amazing atmosphere but the food is overdone. Crudo so overdressed there’s no taste of fish. Crab soldiers has so much dill it could have been cabbage and no one would know. Short rib ravioli was room temperature and undersalted. Mussels had so much garlic it was all you could taste - same with the pasta vongole. Cocktails were really hit or total misses.
I’ll try again in a year … if it survives.

Exceptional from the service, plating to the originality, freshness, and deliciousness of each dish. Elliot was our sever. As locals, we have tried most of the restaurants in New Hope area. Love the new Stockton Inn! The chief and team have to be commended for outstanding cuisine!

We had a wonderful meal for my birthday. We had the mushroom dish that was so delicious that my tween and teen boys both enjoyed it. The food is definitely the best in the area and is either on par or very close to the best we’ve had period. The lobster agnolotti was lovely, the wagu steak was solid and the Pavlova was amazing. The drinks were also some of the best in the area.
The service also really stands out. Every member was really attentive, warm, and professional. There was a little delay in getting two of our drinks out. But only are after dinner drink was problematically late and they were prompt in addressing the issue themselves and took it off our tab.
The atmosphere is gorgeous. While we were indoors which was a really striking and elegant, the outdoors patio is stunning with an incredible waterfall feature.
Can’t wait to come back!

Well intentioned, and well crafted menu that has interesting but very limited choices to select from. Portions are small and when asked about the plate sizes, we were told “they are reasonably adequate” which they weren’t and had we known would have likely caused us to order another dish.
Service and staff, when present, were good and detailed in their explanation, however it was having someone around to take orders and clear the table which was challenging.
The setting is clean, light and intimate, perhaps too much so as our corner nook table was so close to the adjoining table we literally had to shift our table to excuse ourselves to use the restroom.
We had what I would assume is an outlier experience in that we went to order a bottle of wine and were told they wouldn’t sell it to us because of low stock. So we had to order the wine we wanted by the glass, despite having a total of 4 glasses for the table which would have been the bottle. It literally made no sense.

I had dinner at Finch last night with four others, and from start to finish, the experience was excellent. We were greeted warmly by the host, which set a welcoming tone , it was the perfect balance between formality and familiarity.
The space is beautifully designed, stylish and clearly the result of thoughtful choices. It feels elevated without being pretentious, and the seating was genuinely comfortable.
What stood out the most was the consistency. The service was great. Our server was knowledgeable and present just the right amount. He knew when to check in and when to let us enjoy the meal without interruption. That kind of balance is rare, and it really contributed to how smooth the entire evening felt.
We ordered a la carte, and each course impressed us. The dishes were creative but approachable, and every ingredient felt intentional. You could tell a lot of care went into both the flavors and presentation. Each plate had a great sense of balance, nothing was overdone or over-complicated, just thoughtful food prepared with skill. Portion sizes were perfect for a fine dining experience, and the pricing felt fair for the quality and execution.
It’s hard to choose a favorite course because each one stood out in its own way. What I appreciated most was that there was no weak link. Everything from the pacing of the meal to the final bite was handled with a clear sense of purpose. The cocktails and wine selection also lived up to the same high standard as the food.
Finch is the kind of restaurant that doesn’t need to be flashy to leave a lasting impression. It’s refined and focused on the details that matter.

Finch is one of a kind, truly something special in Jersey’s repertoire of fine dining. The environment is exquisite- through soft brown curtains you’re greeted by the warmth of a raging fire, soothing and welcoming. Our server Sam was as professional and knowledgeable as you could imagine, truly elevated. The service of Finch compliments what is an exceptional cocktail program, great wine selection, and of course an innovative menu.
I’m not one to experience fine dining, but Finch has certainly set a precedent. Each course better than the last, building and evolving as you go, paired with wonderful accompaniments. I couldn’t recommend it enough, whether for a special occasion or a spontaneous night out, try Finch- you won’t regret it.

We had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Finch restaurant at the Stockton Inn in Stockton New Jersey last week.
We were pleasantly surprised at the level of attention to detail, hospitality by manager Katie Hanley and staff and the lovely upscale atmosphere created by the Inns new owners.
I’ve always loved the Stockton Inn for its history and charm. Frequented by the broadway great composers of the 1930’s and 50’s like Moss Hart, his wife actress Arlene Francis and his colleagues, the Gershwins etc all of whom made Bucks County their weekend homes.
The famous Wishing Well is still there to greet guests upon entering the restaurant.
Kudos on tasteful restoration & the careful introduction of new to its history.

We really had a great dinner. Did the Finch Experience and every course was great- particularly enjoyed the mushroom sformato and the crab tortelli. Finch also has a better wine list for the area. Desserts were good, too, just a lot of them with the “treat” of a take on a funnel cake! Looking forward to our next visit.
