We had a very nice meal at Chanterelle as my wife and I celebrated our Anniversary. The restaurant was a perfect place for a quiet meal even on a Friday evening at the end of the Summer. I had the Surf and Turf (Crab Cake and Filet) that was excellent. My wife had the Duck and while it was good, it really wasn’t “crispy” as stated on the menu. Our server, Natasha, was outstanding. Excellent food and service though I doubt the restaurant will survive in this challenging market. Owner needs to become a bit more customer friendly when every table makes a difference to the bottom line and survival. For instance requiring a credit card guarantee to make a reservation in September when high season is over is silly or asleep at the wheel.
There are a few exceptional restaurants on the island and Chanterelle is one of them. Restaurant staff was so nice to everyone. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was as good as the top few restaurants on the island. I have enjoyed Wagu A5 at several restaurants and the A5 served to me was the best! Excellent pasta and crab appetizer.
