This is a great, somewhat “old school” spot. They do a good job with both the liquor store and tavern. We have been frequenting both for decades.

Experience - the atmosphere is classic, with a great bar.

Service - the service at the bar is always very good.

Food - The food is very good. Fantastic burgers.

Overall, the value is good. The liquor store can be somewhat expensive.

On a whim, we decided to try Fred's Tavern for dinner. I got the French Onion Cheesesteak, and my roommate got the Mushroom Swiss burger. I was shocked at how delicious my cheesesteak was! The meat was cooked wonderfully and juicy without being too much. The onions were only sautéed, not caramelized, but it honestly worked fine. It was a bit low on the gruyere cheese, but the amount of meat in the cheesesteak made up for it. The roll they used was great quality! The fries were cooked PERFECTLY, they were so crispy. My roommate said their burger was delicious and the best burger they've had in a long while. The waitress was very sweet and took our orders promptly. The only minor downside is that the side of the restaurant we sat in felt a bit like a dining hall and not a restaurant. I'm sure the other side by the full bar was a bit more fancy, I think there's a fireplace on that side? Not sure, but it was fine for a quick and tasty dinner!

I love this place for lunch or dinner . My favorite is the Asian Salad ( I add shrimp) burgers are great and people are friendly

Everytime that I have the chance, I join Freds Tavern for their extraordinary Phili cheestake. The service of the food and drinks is very quick and the staff is always oriented to help you. BTW, the portio of the food is huge.

Really nice restaurant/bar. From the outside you would expect a standard bar. On the inside it has a nice, smaller restaurant area and bar. Clean and cheerful environment. Would recommend to any visitors in the area. The locals definitely like it as it was almost completely full before noon.

The "Utimate Grilled Cheese" Sandwich was bad. A tasteless greasy lump of melted congealed cheese encapsulating the limp uncarmelized onion strands and a slice of pink tomato. 👎 The Blackened Mahi Mahi Sandwich was OK. 👍

Friendly pub in Stone harbor. Went there to watch the eagles game. Food did not disappoint, but the eagles did.
