Jay’s is, if anything, underrated. The food, service, and atmosphere are all far more impressive than a quick glance from the outside would suggest! A persistent overachiever for us and every time we go we’re reminded of just how talented they are.

Beautifull place, excelent service, mandy was a great waitress....However the sauce of the Ribs was a little strong for my taste...

Absolutely phenomenal. The Pad Thai was the best and so was the rest of the dinner. Very friendly, attentive staff. We will be back.

Been meaning to write a review since this Summer - we absolutely loved everything about our dinner experience! The ambience, service, and food were exquisite. I've been thinking about the salad we had ever since... it had the best combination of ingredients that complemented the juicy peaches and it looked like a work of art. Our entrees were exceptional (I had been wanting to try their pad thai and it was everything I was hoping for and more) and the desserts were phenomenal... so much thought and care went into every detail. I'm really looking forward to going back and hopefully we can have Joanna as our server again!

I’m not sure what happened but this use to be my favorite place to visit on vacation . The last two years I’d say something is different. Service is still good and place is quaint and cozy but the food is just lacking . Sadly we didn’t return this year because the menu still looked the same and we didn’t enjoy our previous meals from the last few visits.

Too many spices, can’t taste the main course… I had the halibut, it was a fish soup…with so many spices it could have been anything… BTW, who puts pineapples on mussels…

Our first time at Jays on Third did not disappoint! We usually stick around Sea Isle, but after so many friends told us we had to try it, we finally made the trip—and wow, totally worth it.

We started with the Sticky Spare Ribs and the Brusselini (both amazing) and then dove into the Pad Thai and Miso Salmon. The Pad Thai is literally called “Best Pad Thai” on the menu, and they’re not lying—it was so good I didn’t want to share.

We even got to meet Chef Jay—super nice guy and seriously talented. Amazing food, BYOB, perfect date night. We’ll definitely be back!

First Rate. Halibut, salmon, oysters, caesar salad- fantastic. Whoever is in the kitchen is a trained professional. Management has selected a fine staff of young people who understand customer service. Rare.

I had the pleasure of having dinner last week at Jay’s on Third, and what a wonderful experience that was! Our table mostly had fish entrees, and my halibut was outstanding! My wife chose the scallops, and we shared a beet salad and ribs to start. If you are in Stone Harbor, don’t pass up the opportunity to experience the fine dining at this quaint little restaurant on the corner of Third.

Should not have to pay for Bread!

From LA to New Orleans to Nantucket - I’ve had Mali Ston, Belon (my favs) Whitstable, Coffin Bay King, Maldon rock, Bluff & Tasmanian Oysters.
But this was the 1st time I paid $5 dollars each for oysters (not bluff as stated) that were literally smaller than a dime & served with an overpowering vinegar mignonette & 4 wedges of lemon.
The Rib-eye was NOT a rib-eye! Not at all! It wasn’t prime either. Marquis cuts of meat at REAL fine dining establishments are never hidden by being slathered with sauce or gravy.
The chef very well may be talented, or at least well trained, but why offer ANY cut of meat on the menu if you have to misname & camouflage it in supermarket mushrooms a river of sauce?

The Halibut was flaky, perfectly white, and flavorless. Served with sticky rice & a sort of chutney with tomato, jade herbs, bok choy, 2 or 3 beech mushrooms, and I think macadamia nuts … which was delicate on top of delicate … but lacked flavor & had a zero “Wow” factor.
Overall - a “talented” chef isn’t talented at all if he has help developing an original menu that’s well thought out, but lacks the flavors that make me want to come back for more.
I don’t mind paying $1,000 for dinner (even if you do charge your customers $8 to put a little bread on the table) just be certain that the execution of the cuisine warrants the prices your charging.
Truly … you should definitely be embarrassed about those oysters. They weren’t even juveniles.

Our server was amazing. And it wasn’t her fault at all that we waited nearly 2 hours for ANY of our food to be served.
We will most definitely never return. It’d be a disappointing waste of time & money.
