First time visiting Bar Bacao and I was really impressed! The chicken tinga tacos were full of flavor, the BBQ pulled beef and guacamole were top quality, and the tres leches was absolutely to die for. The service was consistent the whole time, and the manager was very attentive, which made the experience even better.
Honestly, people should visit a place before leaving a negative review. This spot does not deserve just a 4.0 rating – it should be at least a 4.8. Come and try it yourself, that’s why there are no photos here… better to let it surprise you!

They really changed for the worse. The burritos are now the size of tacos, the guacamole is now a single scoop and served in a plastic bowl vs molcajete and a virgin margarita is $10. Never going there again.
How can they reduce the serving size and also charge more!? #Cheapskates

First time ordering from Barbaca in Summit on Saturday night (8/2/25). I spent over $50 on dinner, but I haven’t even eaten it yet. What really stood out was the hostess’s attitude; When I walked in, she was leaning on her elbow at the host stand and didn’t say a word to me. When I gave her my name for pickup, she handed my order over with a clearly disgusted manner—no “thank you,” no acknowledgment at all. This was a super bad first impression from a customer service standpoint. Hopefully, the food will be better than the experience.

Ordered a bowl sans cream, cheese and tortilla chips . Asked for a poached egg was specific if they couldn’t do poached no eggs. Bowl comes out with meet ? I asked the waitress why is there meat I didn’t not order meat . Her response it comes with a protein . Last time I checked I decide if I want a protein . I’m a vegetarian. She brings out a new bowl with fried eggs .
The language barrier is an issue . She doesn’t understand English nor did she have the ability to listen to the customer .

Placed a takeout order an hour before we wanted to pickup. Arrived to find people at four tables, all with their food. Despite this, and nobody else waiting for takeout, our order wasn’t ready for 25 minutes. The food was good, but the service wasn’t. The staff at this taco place were genuinely kind and helpful, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t meet expectations. We ordered nachos, and they were noticeably stale. To their credit, the employees replaced them without hesitation, and while the second batch was slightly better, they still weren’t great. The biggest letdown, though, was the shrimp tacos—they were unfortunately inedible. I really wanted to enjoy the meal, but the flavors and texture were off. I’m giving two stars because the customer service was excellent, but I hope the food quality improves.
