Really good coffee spot to try! Latte was made beautifully and the cinnamon bun was extra cinnamon-y. Setting was quite and chique. They don’t have too much options as far as food so I would’ve given a 4.5 score but that latte was so damn good. You can tell the latte is going to be good by how the milk is foamed. Chefs kiss. Must try.

The matcha latte here is delicious. There is no sugar in it yet it tastes not so bitter

Cute little spot. Baristas are patient and accommodating. Got an iced cortado with honey and an oat milk flat white. Pricier than what I’m used to, but to be expected from this area of summit, so I get it. Coffee and lemon bar was yummy 👍🏼👍🏼

This was my first time going to Boxwood, and I was pleasently surprised. I've been to a decent amount of coffee shops, but the espresso here really impressed me. I interacted with a worker named Cyrus, and he was wonderful with taking care of my order! After receving my small latte, I decided to buy a bag of Tempo espresso, and he very descriptively walked me through how to grind this at my house, and the best way to have this espresso. My experience was lovely and I'm very much looking forward to coming here again!

I just stopped by at this coffee shop and asked about specialty drinks. The girl working there responded in an annoying tone “what do you mean specialty coffee? - we only have specialty coffee” ok. Clearly an attitude problem and such personnel should not be serving customers! Then I ordered my latte and clearly stated I wanted it extra hot. I got my latter lukewarm! Clearly no customer service skills nor the ability to follow directions! Drinking my cold $8 latte with “pleasure”!

The girl with the glasses was so rude. She kept pointing at signs when I would ask questions instead of answering verbally, never said even a hello, and overall just had terrible customer service skills. I love visiting coffee shops and it was my first time visiting boxwood in summit, so it was really weird to be met with that behavior when there are so many competing places nearby that actually treat you like a human being. If you don’t want to work in customer service, maybe don’t work in a people-facing position?

I take customer service very seriously. The employees were very courteous, attentive, and helpful. Great energy, and vibe. Definitely one of my new goto spots!!!!

Nice atmosphere and very cool temperature inside, but the servers were extremely rude. For example, we asked what flavor lemonades they have and they pointed at the sign angrily. We asked what sizes after we ordered and they had charged us, they again irritably pointed at another sign. They used tap water for our lemonades which they say is filtered. Overall, just not worth 12$ for 2 small lemonades made from tap and rudeness.

The guys spend more time chatting among themselves than serving customers. It took ten minutes to prepare the order and then they managed to get everything mixed up.

Popped in here to kill some time before going to an event nearby. It's a great little coffee shop.
There are a good amount of options in terms of the coffee. Went with a cortado, which was nicely done, and a jasmine iced tea. Service was quick and the prices were fair for the sizes. Not a ton of seating options but we were able to snag the two comfier big chairs in the common area. Some people were there studying, which seems pretty feasible but not sure of the plug situation. Parking on the Sunday we were there was so easy and so free. Not a lot of food options but the area itself has a ton of them.
Overall, if you're looking to read a book or just grab a relaxing cup of caffeine, this is a nice spot to do it.

I’m visiting from out of town - i own a chain of coffee shops in South Florida. As always, when traveling, i seek out and try to support local coffee shops
Over the last 4 days in and around Short Hills, Livingston, Chatham and Summit I’ve tried about 8 shops. This is actually the First shop I’ve visited in the area that does everything right
The girl at register understood and knew her coffees, David at barista was servicing the grinder on the fly and after fixing it actually dialed in and tasted his shots before serving
They pull proper shots, the Macchiato was on point, the cold brew delicious, fresh pastries and great atmosphere
Congrats to this ownership and team - great job - by far the best coffee in Summit, NJ and surrounding area. I will be sure to visit again tomorrow before heading to the airport and again when i return to the area

Nice place, good service, decent coffee but it seemed more like a Starbucks & didn't have it's own charm. The food offerings were pretty much the same as you'd get at Starbucks and they were out of a lot of things.

Finally tried Boxwood after wanting to try it for months, and was incredibly disappointed. My husband got a cappuccino, I got the honey cinnamon latte, and we also got a bag of El Jefe for home. Everything was just very underwhelming and weak. The El Jefe is supposed to be a dark roast, but tastes more like a light/medium roast, and has a very acidic smell to it. The cappuccino and honey cinnamon latte were also very mild/underwhelming. Not sure if they are having issues roasting their coffee or something, but I would not come back.
