What a gem! I made a reservation for two. We arrived and were promptly greeted and seated. The atmosphere, decor, and ambiance were cozy with credit to the natural elements and intimate lighting. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The potstickers were good 4/5. The salmon was amazing 5/5. The pork chop was also very delicious 4/5. We did reveal that we were both celebrating belated birthdays so we were complimented with a dessert on the house in addition to the dessert we ordered, all to share! Our drinks: the espresso martini, paloma, margarita, and sangria were all perfectly delicious and didn’t disappoint. Overall 10/10 experience and will visit again for the same level of service.

Great slightly-upscale lunch/dinner spot - sit by a fire as you enjoy some wood fired flat breads, great sandwiches and cocktails. Make sure you save room for the cinnamon roll bread pudding dessert.

Huntley Tavern in Summit delivered a wonderful dining experience from start to finish.
My companion, who has multiple food allergies, requested haddock prepared with accompaniments borrowed from the salmon platter. The kitchen handled her needs with grace, producing a perfectly prepared entrée.
I enjoyed the beef short ribs, paired with creamy grits, snow peas, and cheese—a hearty and satisfying dish. We began with the Buratta appetizer, beautifully complemented by a balsamic reduction and cherry tomatoes, a flavorful start to the meal.
For dessert, my companion chose rich chocolate gelato, while I savored the strawberry shortcake, both excellent finishes.
Service was attentive, knowledgeable, and exceptionally accommodating regarding dietary restrictions. Every dish was expertly cooked and thoughtfully presented.
I give Huntley Tavern my highest recommendation and look forward to returning soon.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Gracious and attentive servers, incredible ambience, perfect food...Allie was our amazing server, and after speaking with Anthony, the very pleasant manager, I found out it was only her second night after training...but you'd have never known it!

My mom was given a complimentary ice cream/cookie with candle for her birthday.

The key lime tart was the best key lime item I have ever eaten (I wish I took a picture, but I have included a similar photo so you get the idea, though theirs looked way better.)

This is my second visit, first post remodel, and I can't wait to go back once the fireplaces are lit.

It's just perfect here; you won't be disappointed!

Celebrated a milestone birthday at The Huntley Taverne in Summit recently, and it exceeded every expectation. Nestled at 3 Morris Ave. in the bustling downtown, this gem captures the essence of a classic American tavern with its exposed brick walls, cozy fireplaces, and ambient lighting that sets a warm, inviting tone—ideal for intimate gatherings or a romantic evening out in this charming suburb.
The menu is a masterclass in elevated comfort food, blending seasonal ingredients with creative flair. We began with the legendary Parker House rolls—soft, buttery perfection served warm with honey butter that had us reaching for seconds. The burrata appetizer was divine: creamy cheese paired with heirloom tomatoes, prosciutto, and a balsamic glaze that balanced sweetness and acidity flawlessly. For entrees, the braised short ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, simmered in a rich red wine reduction over creamy polenta and roasted root veggies—pure comfort on a plate. My guest's pan-seared scallops were impeccably cooked, plump and golden, atop a risotto that's creamy without being heavy. Dessert sealed the deal with the apple crisp: tart apples under a crunchy oat topping, served with vanilla bean ice cream that melted just right.
Service was impeccable; our server anticipated needs effortlessly, offered spot-on wine recommendations from their extensive list (the cabernet paired beautifully with the ribs), and handled our group's dietary requests with ease. The pacing was perfect, allowing us to savor each course without feeling rushed, even on a busy Saturday night. The craft cocktail program shines too—their signature Huntley Mule with house-infused ginger was refreshing and inventive.
The Huntley Taverne is a standout in Summit, delivering exceptional food, atmosphere, and hospitality that makes you feel like a regular. Whether for brunch, dinner, or drinks at the bar, it's worth every penny (entrees $28-45). Already planning our next visit—highly recommend!

We had a reservation for 4 people @ 7 pm last night. The train was running late as we were picking up friends we haven't seen in a while as they live out of state- called to let them know, the hostess said no problem without hesitation. We show up with a surprise guest, adding 1 to our initial reservation and they were so sweet, and bonus even able to accommodate the change. I was very appreciative. Now to the service at the table. Our waitress was incredible, the drinks were flowing and our dinners were top notch. We enjoyed a great evening after what started super stressful. Thank you!

I always have had great experiences here but my experience today was genuinely one of the most pleasant I’ve had (anywhere) in a very long time. From the wonderful individuals at the host/hostess stand who opened/held the door for me, to my server (I believe her name was Hunter(?) who was just so incredibly lovely and pleasant, to the other servers who checked on me even though I wasn’t in their section. Not to mention the delicious meal I had - I truly enjoyed my experience so much! Thank you to all the staff for being so wonderful!

This was our second visit to Huntley Tavern, and once again, it was a good experience. We were seated during peak Saturday lunch, and the place was packed—a good reminder of the challenge in keeping service and food quality consistent across a busy dining room.

The Sesame Crusted Chicken Potstickers were a bit bland on their own, but the chili crisp and yuzu ponzu sauce added a much-needed punch. My Crispy Chicken Sandwich was solid, though the fries weren’t as hot or fresh as they were on our first visit. The Marinated Chicken Panini had good flavor, but the mozzarella wasn’t melted and the baguette was too thick and bready. A lighter bread like ciabatta or focaccia would’ve elevated the whole sandwich—could’ve been a go-to.

Still, we look forward to coming back the next time we’re in Summit, NJ.
