I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews, but the Panera Bread at Overlook Hospital truly deserves a shoutout. This team goes above and beyond in a setting where the stakes are high and the pace never lets up. Working in food service is hard anywhere, but here, they’re serving busy doctors, patients with special dietary needs, and families under stress, and they do it with grace, care, and a smile.

I’ve watched staff members go out of their way to find soft foods for someone with swallowing issues or track down a comforting cup of hot tea for a patient. These may seem like small things, but they make a huge difference in a hospital setting. The warmth, efficiency, and humanity of this team stand out, and I just wanted to say thank you. You’re doing a great job.

I have my mom at the ICU here, I decided to take break and come downstairs to eat something and instead of choosing the cafeteria, I unfortunately picked Panera, I ordered a croquet sandwich and I asked the cashier without onions, I opened and it was full of onions. I took it back and I was explaining to one of the employees that the promotion sign shows that it comes with onions but the cashier was telling me that the one with onions was the other one, she said her system didn’t show that it was with onions. When I took it back and I was explaining myself to one employee, another one came in between of the conversation and with a really unprofessional and nasty attitude asked me: ok ok do you want another one or do you want a refund? I said: is the other one coming with onions also? She said looking very annoyed: yes! Is on the spread…I asked for my refund and left. They shouldn’t be employed at a place like this where you need to be more compassionate and kind with people. We are here for a reason…we have someone fighting for their life here. Hope management or supervisor could see this review and take a proper action to resolve this issue for future customers. Date 5/19/25, time 4:15pm.

I don’t know if it’s only this branch or all Panera in general but food was beyond disgusting. Soup was watery as if they ran out and added some water to make up for the bowl. Chicken in the salad tastes like rubber or was raw. It was horrific and that was a hospital branch. Not sure what to think of this. Never again

i feel emotionally distressed from the experience i had on 09/25/2024 and i am pregnant, i had a fetal medicine appointment and had to come back twice same day so for the inconvenience the sweet nurse gave me a voucher to penera bread for $5 after my appointment was done it was 3:50pm i was waiting in line at this panera one customer was infront of me the employee working that day ignored that i was there after he finished helping her and started doing other things 5min pass by then he tells me “ oh i didn’t see you there “ first thing he said. Then says we “ we dont have any hot coffee “ without me asking for coffee. I said i wanted the creamy cheddar broccoli soup he proceeded to tell me we close at 4pm and he starts rapping up at 3pm and its not 4 yet and that he doesn’t have any hot soup and he cant sell it to me unless its at a certain temperature. I tell him no worries because at this point i got the memo he doesn’t want to serve me then he looks at my 8month old baby and tells her
“ asalam o alykum” which is a greeting muslims use when saying hello or good and in his way goodbye but in a mockery way and i am muslim. I never experienced racism or such hatred until that day and to say it to me is one thing but not to my child. So i left mind you the time i walked out from the doors thats when it was 4:00pm I called a different panera to give this employee the benefit of the doubt to see if its true what he told me about serving me before closing and about the temperature of the soup and the panera manager told me i should not have been treated like this and if i was to walk in at exactly closing time they would have to serve the customer and no the soup does not have to be a certain temperature so leaving this review will probably give me some type of relief even though i felt so sad of the way i was treated i hope corporate looks into this.

Pleasant experience with the only staff. Although limited options due to the limited space they have, still serves the basic needs. Some tables and chairs at the side. See image for reference

This is not panera. Wrong adress. Check the street view and you will see.

I had a very unpleasant experience with the staff. Some people are not meant to work in or be around hospitals. Avoid this place if you are having a rough day. Don't let them make it worse.

A very necessary and very welcoming place but it is collapsing from dirt and sloppiness, everything is empty. I hope someone can read this comment and do something for the presentation of this place

I’m went there yesterday trying to get something to drink. Extremely thirsty. I have food allergies so I was asking the cashier about the ingredients of the lemonade. He was very short tempered and rude. After I finally ordered a lemonade he refused to get it for me. He said the cups come from the back. I stood there for 5 min. I went to another lady and asked for them to just give me a cup because I was running late for my appointment. This was a terrible experience. Not to mention I never really got what I ordered.

Panera in the main lobby @ overlook hospital - always professional and courteous, clean facility with great food & great staff. I was here 6 days in a row and received consistently great service.
