Rode's Fireside Restaurant

We stopped going here for a bit, but went back and were pleasantly suprised!

Definitely one of the better restaurants in swedesboro.

Beautiful atmosphere inside. The food was delicious. Ask for the caramelized zucchini soup, Delicious. Check it out for yourself.

It’s sad ,that they closed it.But they willl reopen it again,because someone bought this place.
Last time when we went there they didn’t have pizza,so we left.
But in general this place was nice,always nice atmosphere,people friendly and food good.

We had been here several times with family. This was our first time going as a couple. We eat out a lot and so we have pretty high standards. I had the filet mignon and my wife had the salmon. Everything was excellent. We especially liked the onion rings that came with the steak and the croutons. I know they sound unimportant, but they really were delightful. The onion rings are perfectly cooked and have a wonderful flavor. The croutons are crispy but don't explode when your stab them. My point is that when a kitchen gets those kinds of details right, you know that they're doing the important things well also. We will be back often.

PS and the service was excellent. Always there when you need her but never annoying.

Overall just an average meal. Wings were pretty bad- dry, small and meat was not very tasty. Wish I took a picture of them. It’s pretty disappointing that these were served and that we were charged for them. Way better wings in the Swedesboro area. The pork was tasty but it was served on a club roll think it could be served on a better roll. Chips were by far the best of the meal. My partner got the steak and it was just average. For the price of everything not sure that we’d be back for an average meal. Just not the same Rodes of 20 years ago..

Have a service dog The who's just had to ask if he was allowed in. Then we were seated in the bar for away from people very awkward they should read up on the ADA

Haven't had a bad meal there yet and I've tried a bunch of dishes. Great thing about Rodes is if you want to casual bar meal they got you or you can go into the more upscale dining room and have that restaurante vibe.

Kid-friendliness: No problems to bring the kids. There is a kid menu.

Service is terrible, most of the staff is rude, specifically the family who owns it. Limited hours for mediocre food and service. Better places to visit in town.
