The husband and I stepped in here out of curiosity while we were in the area because we'd heard they'd been around for such a long time.
Among the copious shelves of breads and pastries, what immediately caught my attention was the doughnuts (so much that I'm surprised few reviews mention them). Forget your traditional glazed and cinnamon sugar bites; there are no boring doughnuts here. Instead, my eyes goggled the decadent s'mores and colorful fruit pebble doughnuts. I was especially taken by the Scotch doughnuts, all which were impaled with a little pipette of actual liquor. The offerings range from the traditional to the extremely bold and inventive, and to see that at a pastry shop that's been around as long as Butterflake has is certainly to be commended.
We were surprised at the lively throngs of people who were crammed in there on a random weekday afternoon. There didn't seem to be a line or any sort of order; just a lot of displays and counters with people behind them. That, along with the dimly lit interior and slightly disheveled appearance, lent to a general feeling of chaos. In spite of that, the folks behind the counter worked quickly through the crowds and made sure everyone was seen and helped.

Did an online order for the 7 layer cake. There was an error in the quantity sent, but everything went smoothly. The cake itself is good and has a hint of orange flavor. Our family prefers it more without the orange, or I would give the cake 5 stars. However, I would order it again. The shipping was fast and secure. The quantity problem was resolved quicky and efficiently. Thank you.

Do not order a custom cake from here. They get every single order wrong as people walk in to pick up their items. One picture is what we sent in, the other picture is the amateur horrendous representation of Elmo. I do not expect this bakery to last much longer based on the many negative experiences I’ve witnessed. Hopefully they taste better than it looks. Update: DRY

Bought 3 packs of this raisin bread from PARVE BUTTERFLAKE. I have to say the wrappings were excellent. However, I am very disappointed with the description related to it being raisin bread. I LIVE RAISINS and to my surprise this SO CALL RAISIN BREAD ONLY HAVE 4 raisins on and top and NOT one single raisin inside the bread. Also the bread is dried out. I WILL NEVER NEVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN. I should stick with my last raisin bread purchase from NAVVAD BAKERY. It’s the best.
We are so grateful we got to allow our children to indulge in this nut and sesame bakery. Thank you so much butterflake for accommodating people with allergies!

STAY AWAY!! Ordered passover cake and 2 orders of cookies to be shipped to our home in Florida. Order arrived; the cake was stuck to the side of the box and top of styrofoam this was due to the terrible packing job only 1 mini ice pack in the whole box! The cookies all melted and turned into one big blob. All items went into the trash. My wife called Butterflake to ask for a refund or future credit as was told by Adele that the manger would back and a replacement order would be sent for Monday delivery. Unfortunately no call from the manager and no replacment order ever arrived. After numerous attempts to contact the manager or owner, we gave up. Do not order from this company!!!

Butterflake delivered a cake on time for my son's Sunday birthday party on Friday afternoon as agreed. There was a concern with the cake. Butterflake responded immediately and offered to redo the cake with no issues at all. The owner himself drove to the city and delivered the cake on Sunday in time for the party. I am so impressed with the service and communication. The cake itself was absolutely delicious and beautiful (as always). This was not our first time ordering from Butterflake and of course not our last!). Thank you Richie!!!
