My water glass was always replenished and they included some additions that were not expected and delicious. The food was the big star of the evening. The food was fantastic. We started with the clams oreganata. The white wine sauce made an excellent accompaniment. My husband had the ribeye steak accompanied by shrimp scampi, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. I tried the grilled veal chop. With mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes, it was superb. We showed up at 5:30 and were greeted and got a table right away. We ordered the short rib bokkeumbap, veal salumi flatbread, slow roasted lamb riblets, and fries. Everything was devoured. “Appreciation post😃 Since 4 days my freshly turned teenage daughter has been saying one thing when I ask her what you want to do on New Year’s Eve …” I want to have kudos bubble tea as the last thing I drink in 2022”. It’s been a tough few months for her and i wanted to make sure she gets her wish. So yesterday morning I called kudos. Asked when they will close for the day. They said 10pm. We scheduled all our plans in such a way that at 9pm we go and get the much anticipated bubble tea. At 9 my husband, son and daughter headed out to kudos… only to find that they have closed at 7 for a private event. This is my back story. On the other side of the story… which probably has its own back story… Cherie the owner had shut the bakery as her daughter wanted to celebrate with her friends and family. As a mother myself I can totally understand that. When she saw my family she informed them that they are closed. But when she heard we had called in morning and saw my daughters dejected face… she opened her doors. Made a quick bubble tea and even gave some extra cookies as a New Years treat. My kids came back so happy saying “mommy it was a holiday miracle!” Thank you Kudo Society Cafe. For providing us one last 2022 miracle. Thank you Cherie for understanding. We have been Kudos patrons since it was at palisades park but now we are die hard advocating neighbors of yours. Ps: pic of the cookie treat. My son ate the red velvet on way home.”

The crazy part to me tho is the prices haven’t changed since, with the bill for me and my friends always being around 30$! The food is big portions, delicious, and the service is top tier. While most other diners have gone down hill, changed over the years for the worse, every time I walk into Golden Grill it’s like I’m teleported back to 2002 and it’s just the best weekend breakfast spot ever. Don’t let the lack of modernization turn you off that’s exactly why you should come. You’re not gonna see any TikTok’s or instagram ads of this place you just have to know. IYKYK 🔥 Just felt I had to leave a review after all Jimmy has done for the community by keeping this place alive, affordable, and a part of history.”

“My four year old was adamant that he wanted a rocket ship ice cream cake for his birthday. I called a 11 ice cream cake shops in the area only to be told that it was impossible without the right mold. One place even asked me to order a mold for them and they would see if they could make the cake but wanted to charge double for the effort. I randomly found this Carvel in Hackensack and after explaining what I wanted, one of the staff members brainstormed ways to make the cake come to life. I sent them a picture and out came the best rocket ship ice cream cake that anyone had ever eaten! The cake looked beautiful, tasted delicious and most importantly, my child was super happy. I will always place cake orders with you guys!”

She mentioned the food was the best in the area (there are a number of other Jamaican restaurants in the area) but they can run out of food and it gets busy at lunch times, so I avoided it. Today I tried and we found parking lot made parking easy. Service was prompt and the food was much better than some of other places nearby including a chain restaurant. Jerk pork was very tender and the rice and beans were excellent. Others in our party loved the chicken and shrimp pasta specials. Will have to try some other dishes. (I worked nearby but never tried it sooner because I was warned about crowds but it was not that crowded and we were served promptly. I would not go for atmosphere but the servers were friendly.”

I grew up living in Teaneck then moved here to West Milford where pizza can never compare 😆 I grew up going to Colleseum pizza and Roberto’s kept the magic alive with the same traditional style pizza. I’ve brought so many there and every single person can’t wait to go back, while also taking their own trips down there for some delicious pizza. Word on this place really needs to be spread around to show the gold mine off for what it is. It should be way bigger than just Teaneck and that’s saying something. Teaneck has always had great food/pizzerias, but this one takes the cake though.”

Having been to Mexico several times, I find the food to be quite authentic and not too Americanized. The prices are fair, but any meal out lately can be rather expensive for two. “My four year old was adamant that he wanted a rocket ship ice cream cake for his birthday. I called a 11 ice cream cake shops in the area only to be told that it was impossible without the right mold. One place even asked me to order a mold for them and they would see if they could make the cake but wanted to charge double for the effort. I randomly found this Carvel in Hackensack and after explaining what I wanted, one of the staff members brainstormed ways to make the cake come to life. I sent them a picture and out came the best rocket ship ice cream cake that anyone had ever eaten! The cake looked beautiful, tasted delicious and most importantly, my child was super happy. I will always place cake orders with you guys!”
