“Very cool to find a yakitori spot here in Bergen County. I tried various chicken skewers and the tonkotsu ramen. Everything was pretty decent, but not amazing. I thought the skewers weren’t grilled enough because I was hoping to get more crispy bits and charred flavor. Everything also tasted a bit under-salted, in my opinion. The Asahi on draft was lighter than I expected, though I can’t say if it was abnormally light because I don’t usually get it. (Another review said it tasted watery so I wanted to comment on that as well.) I would opt for a bottled beer next time, of which they have a nice selection. Overall, not a bad experience, but also not nearly an equal substitute for yakitori in the city.“

“Don’t know why it has listed as “Sushi Teaneck sushi” , the name is Sushi house House is a fantastic all-you-can-eat sushi place! The staff is incredibly friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. The sushi is made fresh to order, ensuring top-notch quality with every bite. While the sashimi selection isn't extensive, it's more than adequate considering the overall variety. The small sushi portions are perfect for trying a wide range of options without feeling overwhelmed. The prices for the buffet are very reasonable, offering great value for the delicious sushi you get to enjoy. Highly recommend!“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“Put this place on the map!!!! A tried a true, best of the best, MUST go to spot when visiting (or living in) NYC. No exaggeration, my boyfriend and I haven’t stopped talking about this place since we visited last year. We’ll finally be back in town next month and are beyond excited to be dining with them again. Did we book a trip just to eat here!? Maybe… probably… because seriously, this place is exceptional. The owner is the sweetest, most delightful human with an incredible story and the food/service is an unmatched experience. Plus, you simply can’t beat their affordable omakasi prices…but the bigger bonus??? BYOB. Bring your wine, bring your tequila, bring neither or bring both. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a party in the most intimate sense. I never write reviews, but Sushi YOLO is a 10/10, so please, do yourself a favor and go see them before they earn that Michelin Star!“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fushimi Restaurant! The food was delicious, from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks, which perfectly complemented our meal. What truly made our visit exceptional was the incredible service provided by our waitress, Ohmie. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her warm demeanor and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. We strongly recommend Fushimi Restaurant, especially because of the outstanding service we received from Ohmie. We’ll definitely be back!“

“We came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday, as we’ve been to about 6 different omakase experiences in the past couple years and have loved the variety of each, this was no exception—but may i say how wonderful it was now?
Atmosphere was clean and warm, with wood and stone features, plates, and interior. We were kindly able to move up our reservation from 5:00 to 4:40 as we had arrived in the city quite early. The staff was all wonderful and had made note from my reservation that it was a birthday celebration which is always SO appreciated, as i know it’s not always something spaces do or are even expected to.
Service: so kind and attentive, everyone was very sweet to us and our chef seemed genuinely happy to talk about the selections for the day.
Food: The best part, was immaculate. Truly a story telling of food that we enjoyed every single piece of. Variety, artistry, elegance and fresh. We went with the $150 19 course selection which came with 4 appetizers, 11 pieces of nigiri, 1 hand roll, a gorgeous wagyu sampler and dessert. (Forgive me if I missed anything, there was so much food and certainly worth the price) The appetizers were inventive and well presented, the sushi was classic and took us through this beautiful little adventure of light to deeper and rich flavors.
Drinks: we got a bottle of cold sake which was served in a sort of wine chilling contraption that was not only a fun spectacle to look at and use, but very functional in keeping our alcohol chilled.
Truly, truly a wonderful experience and would absolutely recommend. Thank you so much.“

“Went out with my meat-loving family and even I as a vegetarian had a wonderful time and there was plenty for me to eat! Everyone was happy and full at the end, everything tasted great. And we had a wonderful server, Yang! Even when things were busy during the rush he was there to get what we need.
Vegetarian options: There was a vegetable platter and some sides! One tofu dish wasn't marked and did have shrimp in it through“

“Great Sushi and Ramen place on Hudson Yard, been here many times. I love their new ramen Shiromaru Classic, signature maki, Suram bowl and Omakase. Their staff very friendly, helpful, great recommendation. Special thanks to Cristian and all his team, fast service.
The place is clean, and surprisingly they got bigger room inside. Cristian explained to me, the room can be booked for special event. Very nice and comfortable. ??? definitely will be back and inform my friends“

“You cannot beat their happy hour! Each piece of sushi is around double the size of your typical NYC piece. I also got the sushi tacos and those were fun and different from what I typically get. I also got a bottle of the cold sake. I will definitely be coming back here soon!“

“I am a local from New Jersey now living in Germany, came back to visit and was in the mood for a Poke Bowl. I have to say I have been to many poke places and this is THE BEST ONE. Everything tastes fresh. I love that you have many options on creating your bowl. I also had a taro bubble tea and it was delicious! Employees are very friendly and welcoming. I will be stopping here a few more times before I head back to Germany!“

“A must in my opinion in NY. Great ambiance and the food is amazing. A jazzy atmosphere with a Japanese menu.
The prices are really good for this crazy city, both for cocktails and dishes.
We still waited 1 hour to get in, but it was worth the wait. There is also a $10 cover for the artist.“

“I had an issue with an excess charge on my credit card for a take out order. The owner contacted me and investigated it. He refunded the excess amount and I'm glad they are on top of it. Great customer service and really wanting to make things right.
Overall, I enjoy eating here and I've recommended it to my family and friends. I have tried a couple of their dishes and they are popular for their handroll. Sushi set is also a must. The sea bass is my fave, it just takes a while to be cook because they grill it. My bf likes the hormone don. A good spot for those who wants to try korean/ japanese fusion dish. The take out box sushi set presentation adds a nice touch. ?“

“A Hidden Gem Near Pod Hotel
We stumbled upon this cozy spot near our hotel and had an early dinner. The place was quiet at first, perfect for conversation, but it filled up quickly by the time we left.
Service was prompt and friendly. I enjoyed their Platinum Sake, while my boyfriend tried the Japanese IPA—both excellent choices.
For starters, we had pork gyoza, edamame, and uni croquette. Each dish was comforting and satisfying. For mains, I went with the veggie curry rice from their specials—light, flavorful, and perfectly spicy. My boyfriend had udon soup with shrimp and egg, adding a bit of chili oil for an extra kick.
This was one of the best meals we’ve had in NYC, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for such high-quality food. It brought back fond memories of Japan.“

“Had a belated birthday dinner here last night with my gal friends and it was everything I could’ve hoped for.
This was my first omakase experience! From the hot towel, to the ambiance and service, I felt cared for.
We each did the $65 omakase and it was more than enough food. The sushi was so fresh and creative.
My friends really enjoyed the sweeter sakes and next time I’ll be partaking in a glass myself. The Yuza sake is so delicious.
I will be back and highly recommend this place! Thanks for the hospitality.“

“Visited here for dinner and I loved it. You can choose between two menus, depending on how much you would like to consume. The restaurant is located on the second floor and was not too busy when I visited. Kei was great, very attentive and friendly! The Wagyu appetizer and sushi were probably my favorite. I looked forward to dining here again.

“This place hit my preference.. the Berkshire pork meat was amazing.. highly recommend this rather than regular pork.
However, if u want a big meal more than high-quality meat, then lunch special fits you better!
❤️?❤️?✨Berkshire pork was so tender, juice, and perfectly fried! I like it with the fried pork sauce. Highly recommend!
???Curry rice was outstanding as well. The flavor was pretty balanced, slightly stocky, spicy but not overwhelming.
???Lunch special: pork rice with sashimi box was a clever choice. The regular pork was not as juicy as the Berkshire pork but this set was huge.
❗️+$2 level-up sides: optional! You get pork slices in ur miso soup and a scoop of potato salad with ur cabbage.“

“The rolls are fantastic but the wagyu beef steals the show here. Mango roll with tuna is something different and one of my favorites on the menu. “With my scientific background, I was eager to once again hit the chemistry room for some delicious experiments.
Last time I visited was at the the Sushi Lab rooftop (sister restaurant).
First impressions, the interior of the restaurant is beautiful. The wood panels on the walls and the minimal design brought out a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
The staff were very friendly, polite, and attentive - replaced plates and silverware quickly. You could tell that they were really focusing on trying to deliver a memorable and enjoyable experience!
The food was spectacular... some were absolutely mind blowing.. my favorite was the BAFUN UNI - SEA URCHIN from Hokkaido. I'm usually very picky with uni, but this melted away so gently and peacefully, it was one of the best uni I have ever had! But all the other courses were just as incredible. I only have one quarrel - the last two courses were the green tea and cream puff. Now, I love green tea, but I wouldn't consider that as a course. Also, the foie gras cream puff definitely had an interesting taste, but was probably my least favorite course. It was just a little bit of a sad ending to such a beautiful start! However, it still doesn't take away from the entire experience. A bit pricey - $125 per person, but definitely worth it. Also, the drinks here are phenomenal. I had the Mr. Chirisi (I think that's how you spell it), and it was top 5 cocktails of all time.“

“Finally found an amazing lunch spot for sushi! They have a lunch omakase (didn’t do the deluxe as I do not care for salmon roe) and it was unbelievably good for the price! It was only 38 dollars with gratuity included. Unreal. The fish was incredible, I still dream about the fluke and the Spanish mackerel. The staff was attentive and informative about the sushi you’re eating, and everything moved in a timely manner. I found my new favorite lunch spot!
Dietary restrictions: They do ask if you’re allergic to anything before you start the experience!“

“I absolutely love this place! I go regularly when I get off work early and want a calm solo lunch or dinner. The lunch deal and the ramen set are both very affordable and the food is always amazing. The staff is very sweet and respectful, making a great atmosphere for people who like to have a quiet meal alone. I highly recommend the mapo tofu as well, the texture of the tofu is always perfect! I always know I can come here for a good time, 10/10 would recommend!“

“What a gem. Friend recommended and did not disappoint. Restaurant was very busy and I know the waitstaff was stretched thin. It was noisy with a table full of 8year olds seated nearby with their parents.
I had the omakase for $70.00 and worth it. Sushi was fresh & quality amazing. I will be back soon.
I noticed many patrons ordered ramen. Perhaps I’ll give it a go next time.“

“Surprising, young, exciting. This is highest quality fine dining beyond the old-fashioned standards of usual haute cuisine restaurants. The atmosphere here is a much welcomed change to the landscape of Michelin restaurants.
We dined here as a couple. We had the chefs tasting menue and shared one wine pairing with an extra by the glass champagne. It was an extraordinary culinary experience. The quality of food and drinks is of highest standard. The devotion and passion of the team in the kitchen and service are outstanding.
Sitting on high chairs at the counter observing the chefs prepare your meals creates an intimate almost casual atmosphere and makes you appreciate the food and wine even more.
The amount of food and drinks served was perfect for us. The wine pairing is fun and well worth the money with great stuff such as Dom Perignon and an older wine vintage 1994.
The only thing not ideal for us was the relatively low room temperature. So make sure you bring a jacket or pashmina to fully enjoy if you get cold easily.
What this young team has already achieved is incredible.
We hope to come back many times.“

“I’ve been over 5x in the past 5 months and they’ve never failed me. Staff and chefs are amazing. You must get the omakase (Lunch and dinner) or higher premium cuts because they source really really amazing stuff and you don’t want to miss out. The more basic common sushi is also great for more casual. And the omakase stuff that is truly the stand out ? high quality everything“

“I went to Canadian Academy in Rokko Island which is located in Kobe, Japan. So I know a thing or two about authentic Japanese food from Kansai. This place is our go-to place for lunch in Hell’s Kitchen. Their lunch special comes with a salad, soup, and the entree. It will definitely fill you up. Fantastic food, ambiance, and staff! They also have the nicest outdoor seating in all of Mid-town. Highly recommended for anyone that wants to experience real Japanese food and not just sushi. Now that I’ve had everything on their lunch menu, can’t wait to take my family back for dinner!“

“Good service and atmosphere. We got the five kind sashimi where all the fish was fresh (except the hokkaido uni which they end up replacing with a different fish), grilled black cod which was too greasy and did not taste fresh and I couldn't finish it. The vegetarian udon and tomago were good.“
