“Ordered via GrubHub for a late Friday night dinner when the sushi craving hit. I ordered a tuna bowl, and hubby had a salmon bowl. All of the sushi bar bowls come with edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, kani salad, regular salad (in this case, it was arugula), and avocado. The fish came in huge chunks, lightly marinaded, and tasted fresh. No complaints. I’d order again and try some actual rolls next time. I saw on their menu a pretty good deal for lunch - $12.50 for three regular rolls, so I’ll have to check that out.“

I used to be a weekly client with an average spend of ~$80 for 1 person and tipped at least 20% but stopped going because at times they lost my reservation (you have to call and they write it down on paper because they do not have an online or digital system) so made me wait and stuck me wherever they could. “Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“I went to the original Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare with a close friend, back when the U-shaped counter sat behind the market. It remains by far the most expensive meal I’ve ever had, and in hindsight, it was worth it. More than 20 courses arrived, mostly seafood, and nearly everything felt light, fresh, and incredibly precise. The setting made it even more memorable because something so ambitious was happening behind an otherwise ordinary grocery store.

By the end of the wine pairing, I was inebriated enough that the final courses became a little hazy. The chef was intense and completely professional, but never performative. He was simply executing at the highest possible level and treating the meal with the seriousness its price demanded.

The experience seems to have evolved considerably since then, so take this review with a grain of salt. We absolutely loved the original version of this place. I walked out blown away and would highly recommend it to anyone prepared for the cost.“

“Our daughter took us here while we were visiting NY for her graduation for Wagyu Shabu. I normally don't like places with many prices, but since our daughter chose it so we enjoy with her. The prices on the windows are very confusing and more like false advertising for me, the lower prices are for the members which we're not since this is our first time and definitely our last, unless our daughter wants to come here again. So the price is the more expensive one.
For me, I prefer straight forward pricing, so this didn't give me good vibes, it's not the money, just the way they advertising and we have to know what we can only have with the price we chose. The restaurant just gives us the specific menu for what we selected to have then we don't have to be denied for what we chose because we selected gold instead of top of the line menu.
The place is clean and nice.
For $78/per person and only have Australian Wagyu Beef (not really Wagyu) then it's over priced.
We did have some premium beef which I liked because of the marble of fat on the beef quite tender and tasty, but only a sampler or whatever they called it.
Service with one person is quite inadequate but she's very attentive and pleasant, since she had to run the whole restaurant, sometimes forgets things.
The tomato broth was good and everyone liked it.
The seafood plate is OK and our sweet shrimps are sweet. Some snow crab legs, jumbo shrimps, fish fillets, nothing to make me go wow.
The appetizers tempura is crispy and good. The raw octopus is tasty.
The vegetables are fresh and clean.
After they denied me the premium beef sampler, I let my daughter to order everything else and I just enjoyed with the family. My daughter seemed to be happy and ate a lot, so I was happy.
I've eaten enough shabu, hot pot to know that Australian or American Wagyu are overrated, many of them are tough and chewy, not as tender as normal ribeyes or Brisket that I like.
This restaurant Wagyu beef does have marbles of fat in it, so it's tender and not so chewy.
So, for the GOLD menu, I don't think it's worth the $78 but for special occasions, it's OK. I just don't like the confusion of many menu, many prices, and not getting my own menu and get denied for something on the menu because I didn't pay enough.“

“My friend took me here, it was so delicious especially the uni mentai pasta and the tuna carpaccio. So good that I dipped everything in the carpaccio sauce! The atmosphere is very comfy with the dimmed lights and soft sounding music. Service was very attentive, nice and made exceptional by our server, Yuto. 10/10 recommend and I will be coming back!“

“Appetizers: I got the shishito peppers. They were good. Next time I would get it without the sauce because the sauce was a little too sweet for me. Tried the crispy rice for the first time and was very impressed.

I also got the salmon avocado roll and the spicy tuna. These were delicious. The salmon was super fresh and buttery.

I've been back multiple times and always leave soo content. The omakase is fantastic, and Frankie is an artist at what he does. Every course is a delightful experience of perfectly paired flavors.

Beyond the food, Frankie and his staff make the experience. I always enjoy sitting at the counter, visiting and watching him craft each course.

Sushichii is one of my favorite places in the city, and a very easy five stars!“

“Was craving for some katsu curry and this hit the spot. Nothing fancy here, just really good Japanese comfort food for deep fried pork or chicken.... Convenient location in the heart of mid-Town, this place was already busy at 5 pm on a Sunday afternoon
.... I'm sure it gets even busier for the mid day lunch crowd as well. They were a bit tad under staffed when we visited, but service was still quick and efficient. The katsu was crisp, the meat was tender, without being too greasy. Prices were pretty reasonable too.“

“Staff treats you like family, love how the place is always decorated, and decoration is included in the prefix menu's, birthday packages for free! Food is great, loove the ceviche and chicken mofongo with white sauce. My son is a fan of their Chowfan. They also cater for parties! To me the most important thing is the music, whether there's a dj or not, the music is great! They play everything!“

“We came here after a run club event at a nearby frozen yogurt spot, and right away I noticed just how dark it was inside. I know it's for the atmosphere, but definitely a little hard to see at times. There also isn't much seating inside the restaurant, mostly bar seating with one or two tables with stools, so be prepared to wait if you're coming with a party greater than 4. I really liked how simplistic the menu was and their focus on perfecting the chirashi bowl. We all ordered the $20 option, which came with a variety of fish, scallops, and seafood, and at the end they fill your bowl up with complimentary miso soup to soak up all the leftover rice. “I went there for the first time this past Friday for lunch and had the 10 Course Omakase along with ordering Baton Ebi, Shimasu, and Kamasu. All were well prepared and fresh. The tastes of the different courses were okay, nothing spectacular just average or above average.

I also ordered a small bottle of Winter Bloom Sake ($45), but for the price point it wasn't really worth it.

As for the staff, they were very welcoming and attentive, also there was only one other couple when i was there so i expected nothing less since the restaurant was just about empty.

If you decide to give this place a try, I recommend just eating the food with water or tea and would not go for the Sake.“
