“Holy moly this was INCREDIBLE. Amazing food, the skewers are great but their appetizers are so good too. Too many things that we wanted to try so we have to come back again. It is pricier (we spent around $40 a person without ordering alcohol) but totally worth it. Recommend the fried shishito and fried baby crab for appetizers and chicken neck and chicken thigh/green onion although all the skewers we had were good. I don't drink but a lot of the menu I'm sure would be great with their beer. I also appreciate how the menu has very traditional Japanese izakaya items without worrying about what people unfamiliar with it would think (items like cartilage or liver that most westernized places would never put on the menu).
It's a small place that fills up fast so getting a reservation is recommended. And groups larger than 4 might be tough“

“All things considered a pretty good deal for all you can eat sushi. Only thing was I understand businesses need to make money. Every piece of nigiri came out so immensely packed with rice that it was hard to actually enjoy the fish with it. Again I get it they need to make sure people eat less but when it comes at the expense of the actual meal then its detrimental. Normally youd dip soy sauce on the fish. In this instance I didnt even taste the soy sauce due to having just so much rice“

“The food is genuinely good! Try their new lunch bento box, it’s only $14 and salmon one is $16 so pretty nice price in town🫶 I recommend the chicken bento, you can get rice onigiri 🍙 , chicken, soba salad and miso soup coming together!! Their matcha tiramisu and matcha ne drink is so delicious as well, must-try, not too sweet, but fresh grassy feeling!“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“We were very lucky to have found Sushi YOLO after a last-minute decision to extend our evening in the city. It was an incredible experience all throughout: a homey vibe with great attention to detail from Chef and the entire team and, of course, delicious courses!
We plan to come back to Sushi YOLO when we are in the city again.“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fushimi Restaurant! The food was delicious, from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks, which perfectly complemented our meal. What truly made our visit exceptional was the incredible service provided by our waitress, Ohmie. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her warm demeanor and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. We strongly recommend Fushimi Restaurant, especially because of the outstanding service we received from Ohmie. We’ll definitely be back!“

Came for lunch over the weekend and had such a great experience. The hand roll set and the Super Bowl are a must. The portions were generous and the fish was incredibly fresh. Everything tasted amazing.

“I was starving before I got here. My stomach was growling so loudly it could be heard in LA. My friends and I picked the diamond tier, half spicy miso and half house broth. Spicy miso wasn't thaaaat spicy but I liked the flavor a lot. The staff is attentive they bring you more food super quickly. I got a strawberry cocktail IT WAS SYRUP. no alcohol in it , or at least I didn't taste it. I had one sip and I thought j was drinking FABULOSO cleaning agent !!!!! Obviously don't wear clothes in here that you don't want a scent trailing after you . You will be craving meat all day. I liked the shoulder it was the least fatty. However I went to my doctor and they said I have a cholesterol issue so I can't come here often otherwise I might x__x“

Food is great, loove the ceviche and chicken mofongo with white sauce. My son is a fan of their Chowfan. They also cater for parties! To me the most important thing is the music, whether there's a dj or not, the music is great! They play everything!“

“My wife and I came here because we heard great things and I have to say, everything lived up to the hype! The food was excellent and the service was absolutely next level! Co (Ko?) and Vanessa were so attentive and caring. We never had to ask for anything - it’s like they read our minds. They were so kind and made us feel at home and they were extremely knowledgeable about the food that was served. They absolutely made our night; it had been quite some time since we’ve had so much fun! We will be back!“

“This place was highly recommended as an awesome experience, and I was warned ahead of time that there would probably be a long wait. Upon arrival, there was indeed a very long line despite the damp, cold drizzle outside. The wait ended up being about two hours.
Once inside, the atmosphere was very cozy and every seat in the place was occupied. We were seated directly in front of the live jazz band, which was excellent and really added to the experience. The restaurant had a strong Japanese-inspired theme with very dim lighting. A few light bulbs were visible, but most of the lighting came from small kerosene lamps placed throughout the tables, which gave the place a unique and intimate ambiance.
The staff took our order quickly and the food arrived promptly. The music was outstanding, and while the food was okay, I found myself divided about the overall atmosphere. I genuinely liked the décor and cozy feeling, but I was also concerned about safety. There were simply too many kerosene lamps throughout such a crowded space. I couldn’t help but think that if one were knocked over and caused a fire, panic could spread quickly in such tight quarters. My wife shared the same concern. Fortunately, we were seated near an exit, and we quietly noted that it would be our escape route if an emergency occurred.
In the end, I did enjoy the unique experience, but I remained somewhat tense because of the potential fire hazard. Would I return? Probably not, especially with a two-hour wait time. If the wait were closer to an hour, I might reconsider. One positive note — the prices were actually very reasonable for the experience.“

“Katsuhama is one of my must-visit restaurants every time I come to New York.
The tonkatsu here is simply outstanding. The breading is perfectly fried—light, crispy, and never greasy. Every bite has that perfect balance of a crunchy exterior and a tender, juicy interior. The pork is incredibly soft and flavorful, making it one of the best tonkatsu experiences I’ve had anywhere.
You can really tell that great care goes into the preparation. The quality is consistently excellent, which is why I keep coming back whenever I’m in New York.
If you’re a fan of tonkatsu, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside—just perfection.
Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back on my next trip to New York!“

“I must have missed this place in my review of influencer posts. This bar is a gem of a find on 38th st basically near Times Square. I won't bore you with how I feel because you want to read the things to get. OK drinks
- shiso's last word for those who like rfreshing
- mirror mirror for those who like creamy sweet
- paper island for those who like tart
- far east sour for those who like contrasting tastes
- all the others for well anyway they're all good but those four stood out to me.
Then food
- monkfish karaage is a must
- same for toro uni caviar, I know, I know, caviar is for pricks, but be a prick this time
- chawanmushi yes
- hokkaido uni pasta if you're into squid ink (yeah, that's the second flavor)
- salmon ikura kamameshi because the fish is prepared well
- furikake fries if you want the potato crunch.
I cannot recommend this place any more. It reminds me in vibe of my favorite cocktail place where I live (Perch, in Harlem). These cocktails, done this well, with this precision on the food, is a hard find. I would say do not go for a quick drink. Go for a night.“

“I’ve lived on the Upper West Side for four years now, and Sushi W hasn’t raised their lunch set prices once in all that time—a truly remarkable business practice.
Lately, they’ve also introduced a sake tasting and regional showcase series, offering complimentary sake and seasonal fish from specific regions.
Every visit to Sushi W is a delight; the experience never ceases to amaze me. A huge thank you to Yon-San for continuously delivering such an wonderful experience for us!“

“The loveliest decor, most delicious food and kindest service. I love coming here and brought my cousin for a celebration.
The regular omakase was superb. The chef created nigiri that had interesting flavor notes (yuzu and others), expertly prepared rice, and divine fish. More than one piece of fish seemed to melt on the tongue rather than needing to be chewed.
My cousin said that it was an out of body experience. I agreed, and then we added two types of hand rolls (snow crab with tobiko and plain scallop). The crispness of the toasted nori heightened the delicate fillings and again, the rice is so much more than an afterthought: I am still thinking about it.
I can’t remember the exact order of the arrival of the miso shrimp soup and omelet, but everything heightened the experience further. The miso soup and balanced sweetness in the omelet showed that no detail is too small for the elegance of the meal. My one regret was not finishing the soup, but the sheer volume we had eaten was at lot by that point!
We also enjoyed two different teas, warming our hands on the beautiful cups as we came in from the cold: one with dinner and another with dessert, which we ended up ordering so we could linger a bit longer in the moment. The desserts were phenomenal, especially the grape sorbet. In addition, I usually get uncomfortable on bar stools, but these are so comfortably designed that time passed without my noticing.
While you can get takeout, you are missing out on the warmth of the people at Noz Market and a sublime sensory experience created by a team that truly cares about your learning and enjoying yourself. It is not to be missed.“

“Definitely just discovered a gem of a ramen spot! Ordered their Marine King ramen on a rainy evening and it was like a hug in a bowl. The Marine King is a tonkotsu based soup but it has some lightness to it! Creamy but not overly creamy, it was just right. The noodles for this bowl is different, they use thicker and chewier wavy noodles, whereas in the regular tonkotsu bowl they use straight thin noodles. The head on prawns were sweet and delicious, perfectly cooked! Generous portion. Definitely one of the best bowls of ramen I've had in a while.“
