If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. My partner and I came here for my birthday dinner on a Tuesday evening and it ended up being just the 2 of us. It was truly a private dining experience. I’ve been to several omakase restaurants, but this one was the most memorable. Phenomenal menu with a very strong otsumami lineup followed by a classic style of nigiri, where chef displays a variety of rice making techniques. Deserving of a Michelin star, Amane is one of the most traditional edomae style Omakase counters in NYC.

Felt like a speakeasy with restaurant hidden downstairs. Although everything was very fresh, not sure I enjoyed it more than other omakases in NYC particularly as it’s 1* Michelin.
