“Great food that is as appetizing as the pictures with large portions. The Bento box is definitely the best item to get as it serves as a comprehensive meal with every aspect of flavor and texture:The crispy, crunchy spring rolls and dumplings, the savory main dish, and the sweet salad all complement each other excellently“

“I ordered the Crazy Salmon Roll and Volcano Roll, and I must say, they were both exceptional in terms of taste and quality.
The rolls were incredibly fresh and had a delightful flavour. I was impressed by the generous amount of seafood filling in each roll. Additionally, the sizes of the Shushi rolls were just right, providing a satisfying portion.“

“I had an incredible dining experience at Kimika! The Japanese-Italian fusion dishes were bursting with umami in every bite. We enjoyed the uni toast, Hamachi collar, Uni pasta, scallops, arancini, and the matcha mochi French toast—everything was perfect! The staff were friendly and polite, which made the experience even better. I can’t wait to come back!“

“reminds me of grand restaurants in Tokyo! grand but understated in vibe, beautifully furnished with deep wooden paneling and tables throughout. bar seating is a bit tight but the staff is so welcoming and warm. loved the Melonade mocktail made of cantaloupe, shiso tea: not sure why but it tasted like umeboshi (dried plum) to me.
enjoyed some good yakitori - solid chicken meatballs and onigiri (nothing beats Taisho in Midtown- have yet to try the Michelin one though.) karaage (fried chicken) was delicious as was the steamed clams.
if in Greenpoint, worth a visit! it’s beautiful here.“

“I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. I saw the good reviews on Yelp, but when I walked in, I was concerned that this would be just another sushi take out place that's a dime a dozen.
The restaurant seems very clean and was quite spacious. I was seated in the corner of an area, so it was relatively quiet. I didn't need to use their restroom, which I find to be a great indicator of the cleanliness of a restaurant.
I only looked at the lunch menu, but the prices seem on par with most other places. Unfortunately, I don't think the portion size is enough to really fill someone. My guest got the 3 sushi rolls lunch - it came with 4 of each roll, but it was jam packed with fish and not much rice, which is a stark difference from most sushi takeout places. Most places try to cheap out and give you a ton of rice and a tiny piece of fish. It also comes with a choice of soup OR salad. I, myself, got the miso black cod bento (which also came with a choice of soup OR salad) and got a hand roll with it. The hand roll was pretty decent, but the seaweed could have been crispier. The cod was quite small though, so I left a little hungry. Still, the cod was very good.
The service was pretty good as well - it wasn't exactly white glove service, but it was good enough for a place like this.
Would certainly recommend based on the quality of food.“

“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“One word to describe everything about Sushi Yolo - phenomenal!! Amazing in every way, Alex is the absolute best and the staff is incredible. As soon as you walk in you are greeted quickly, kindly and you feel immediately welcomed into this gem of a restaurant. Every single dish is delicious, flavorful, fresh, and the chefs are stellar. By far the BEST omakase experience! We will be back soon and have already recommended to family and friends.“

“Really loved this experience
The shop that shares the name and the space is full of high quality kitchen goods that are attractive and appealing
The food is also top quality and delicious if you like this healthy Japanese fish diet. We had mackerel, salmon And one other Japanese specialty fish..
They were all great, but the salmon was tender and succulent with delicious flavor (more than the others imo).
They don't start preparing your dish until you air so be aware.
True Japanese experience
You won't be disappointed.“

“If you are a fan of omukase and barbecue, I highly recommend this Michelin star yakitori omukase. The unique course consists of different parts of the chicken on skewers as part of a 13 course menu with a delightfully unique charcoal flavor from Kishu, Japan and combined with traditional Japanese hospitality, respect and craft, this place was certainly worth the price. The meatball and chicken oyster skewers were absolutely delicious, meanwhile the broccoli and sweet potatoe were pleasant surprises, and the herbaceous, flowery yet refreshing shiso sorbet was simple and amazing. Absolutely exquisite on all the senses and an exceptional dining experience. I will certainly return. Reminded me so much of Japan. Well done!“

“New omakase place opened in Chelsea recently. They have pieces of fish you most likely won't find at other omakases (sardines , Japanese cockle clam). Everything was super fresh and they have a pretty expansive list of sake. Perfect place for a date night or with friends.“

“The food here is amazing, I loved the last four courses of the 16-course omakase in particular! I’m terribly with names, but the one with the pickled wasabi was particularly good, and they then followed it up with equally good dishes such as A5 Wagyu. The quality of the ingredients were second to none, with excellent sourcing including from Japan itself.
The host and chef were also incredibly welcoming, and kept us laughing throughout the experience. They had incredible life stories you just have to hear, and are super friendly.“

“This place is impressive. The service and decor is top notch. The food is also good but the tasting menu is the only option available and it simply is too many courses. Especially if you pick any add ons, which we did. That being said the crème brûlée is hands down the best dessert I have ever had in my whole life. Overall the experience is worth it. But the thing that really holds it back from a perfect experience is that it’s just *slightly* too much. You leave so full which removes a bit of the magic.“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Fushimi Restaurant! The food was delicious, from the appetizers we ordered to our main course. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed a couple of drinks, which perfectly complemented our meal. What truly made our visit exceptional was the incredible service provided by our waitress, Ohmie. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her warm demeanor and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. We strongly recommend Fushimi Restaurant, especially because of the outstanding service we received from Ohmie. We’ll definitely be back!“

“After months of waiting for a Saturday reservation, my husband and I finally secured one. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the decor and history of the restaurant. It’s a smaller venue, and we sat at the counter for the 21-course meal paired with classic sake. While the service was excellent, the omakase itself was just good, not great, especially compared to other omakase experiences we’ve had. For the price, I found the pieces somewhat disappointing. Though the pieces were not our favorite, we still had a good dinner with amazing service.“

“Aesthetically the place is unassuming, just based on how it looks from the outside I might not have chosen it but because of the good reviews we went and it was so worth it. The shoyu ramen was one of the best I’ve had and the tempura shrimp appetizer was also delicious. Our server was lovely. Would definitely go again.“

“What a sublime dining experience. Inside it feels like a zen oasis from the craziness of NYC. The food (chef’s choice) is so so good. Homemade ginger to the food pairings, everything was delicious and watching the chef prepare everything with such care was a treat. The perfect pre-broadway meal (we had the 15 course) and would return in a heartbeat.“

“You feel welcome once you step into this place. Service is top notch. 12 course dishes are all with very fresh ingredients and very delicious. I would say their Modern Kaiseki is very good even compare to those you find in Tokyo or Osaka. Last, if you are into Sake, you have to try their pairing and the staff their are very knowledgeable on what they pick.“

“My girlfriend and I celebrated our 6-month anniversary here, and it was an unforgettable sushi experience. From the atmosphere to the service and the food, everything was outstanding. The presentation of each dish was unique, and the service was equally exceptional.
I highly recommend booking the garden seating when making your reservation online—the calming scenery adds to the overall ambiance.
We enjoyed a 12-piece sushi selection, and they even offer a menu to follow along or give you the freedom to be creative with your choices. As a sweet touch to celebrate our anniversary, they surprised us with vanilla ice cream drizzled with sesame and honey. The hospitality and friendly service made the evening even more memorable.“

“The food served at Tonchin Brooklyn is excellent and I appreciate the attention to detail from the food on the table to the atmosphere of the restaurant.
We got:
•smoked dashi ramen (phenomenally well-crafted broth, tobiko topping was fun, smoked fish oil was such a nice touch), appreciate the detail of nori sheet not submerged in the broth so it won't get soggy)
•+ original dashi salad (holy smokes the dressing and the flavors were really really tasty, I would definitely get this again)
•pizza ramen (was looking forward to trying this the most and it did not disappoint, savory notes, crispy guanciale was a nice touch)
Service was pleasant - they were attentive to refilling our water glasses. I was the first customer to use one of the restroom stalls and they even folded the toilet paper roll.
I would love to come back again and highly recommend anyone to try out the menu items I mentioned! The pizza ramen is a sleeper hit - give it a try!!“

“I am currently standing outside the location. The owner who is the friendliest and most kind hearted person I have ever met is the cause of me doing directly to my phone and writing this review. The food is delicious and fresh. From the smallest detail as even the ingredients she has she is detailed for. The boba tea is perfect. Not too sweet and the bobas freshly cooked. My mochi ice cream might be melting but for a good cause. Before I left with my mochi she was as so much caring for my ice cream melting in the weather and asked if it was for here to go since it might melt. I will be going back and hope people show this business the love it deserves.“

“This place never disappoints. The atmosphere, the music, the service, the food, everything is on point and they are incredibly consistent. One of my favorite things about Tomi Jazz is the absolute maximalist decor… anywhere you look there are plenty of small details to absorb.
The musicians that perform are all very talented and this is hands down one of my favorite places to listen to jazz, and overall one of my favorite spots in the city period.
Dietary restrictions: The servers asked me if I had any food allergies both times I visited.
Kid-friendliness: Don’t ruin the vibe by bringing your kids unless they can respect the musicians.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not very wheelchair accessible“
