“The red snapper I had here last night was the best I’ve ever had. Each piece of omakase was incredible and top notch. The sushi chef is a master of his craft clearly. The fish quality is insane. About $100 for 12 piece and $135 for 17 piece omakase which includes more premium offerings. I did the smaller while my husband did the 17 piece and he chef still gave me the wagyu with truffles alongside my husband so we could enjoy together.

“Place is small, and also they have shareable tables just fyi, that threw us off, staff is super friendly and kind. We order some ramens and gyoza which was super flavorful, all their ramens were good, I forgot to take a picture of my husbands but his was spicy and had pork like chicharron (crispy pork) on top, which was to die for, my son didn’t like his beef miso ramen because the meat was minced and also had a sweet flavor so I switched it with mine and then he was happy, my miso pork ramen was delicious, savory and had a little quick since they decorate with what looked like chili oil, delicious but a little spicy. I was super happy with this place, glad we found it and would definitely try it again. Yum“

“Having been to Noz, Amane, Shion, and countless others in NYC, Icca is on the top of my list for a truly traditional edomae experience in NYC. The focus is on seasonal ingredients and a friendly and casual atmosphere.

What differentiates this place from others is that the chef and staff. While Noz presents a high stress environment where the staff are under a lot of pressure to perform, and where Amane is a one man show, and where Shion is about the quietness of the craft, Icca is a balance of craft and personality.

It was wonderful dining here solo especially and each piece I ate was light and fresh. I barely made it through the 16+ courses even with less rice. The staff also really embraces speaking Japanese with you even if you’re a beginner which I found so thoughtful.“

Make sure to get the sushi with MIXED RICE it is a game changerrr. Everything is fresh and delish. You do get what you’re paying for. The yakisoba is a honorable mention. We always get the kani salad, avocado fries, and the koshi tacos so good. For sushi we get the “for two” special and order either the Watchung roll, JJ roll, or the Jersey roll all with mixed rice.. honestly been coming here for over 2 years consistently and never had a bad experience..

We wait a little more of what we expected.
But wait was worth it food was fresh, homemade and delicious, attention it’s def a 1000/10 you feel that you’re in your home, my 5yo daughter mentioned that she was being treated like her grandma treat her (so you can have an idea of how good they were) well, not many words to add.

I really wanted to love Tiam Tiam because the presentation is pretty good, but the execution was a bit inconsistent. On the plus side, the hospitality is top-notch; we loved the complimentary Taiwanese kimchi and dessert, and the portion sizes are generous

Pork Belly over Rice (4.25/5): The standout! It was packed with flavor, though on the oily side

Soft Shell Crab (3.5/5): The crab was well-prepared, but the avocado pairing muted the flavor, making it a bit bland

Taiwanese Fried Chicken over Rice (3/5): This was surprisingly sweet for a savory entree, which others may like that

Century Old Egg Tofu (2/5): A miss for me, it was served cold and the sauce pairing didn’t really work

When I asked the waitress she said they had just put in new menus and that the new price was reflected on our bill. We told them that we didn't know that and we expected that the old price would be honored which was $4 lower. They came to us and they said that if we insisted they could lower the price for us. So we said that we wanted that. otherwise it was a good meal. But I'm shocked that they did not just honor the price and expected us to accept the new price without seeing it on the menu. would not come back“

We went to another renowned Michelin starred yakitori restaurant exactly a night before we had Erotori (this yakitori stand). The green salad with ginger dressing is delicious, as is the hibachi steak entree. “Called and ordered chicken hibachi, which comes with a free soda and had a ~15 min wait as they cook it fresh. The food is tasty, especially the chicken but the fried rice seemed like it was drenched it teriyaki sauce which made it kinda salty and over bearing. My suggestion to the cook would be to put less or omit it and put it on the side or something. Ill come back to try again and ask them to do that and update my review.“
