“Pick up order made it from my husband! I got 2 days ago one of my favorites here: Nopales con carne asada y queso ( grilled cactus w/ steak and fresh cheese) The order comes with 3 Nopales( cactus) so I can eat 2 times with it. It's huge Really Mexican food % Recommended“
“Los chicharrones y longaniza se llevan más de 5 estrellas. Son excelentes! El mofongo también muy bueno. Solo le doy 4 estrellas por el servicio al cliente. Los 3 meseros todos pasaban por la mesa y decían “los atiendo ahora” y atendían a las personas que llegaron último o que a lo mejor frecuentan más el lugar porque al parecer eran conocidos.“
“wanted to check out a speakeasy while in town and came across the newsroom on tiktok, due to their “stuff your own empanada experience”. nestled in a quiet area of queens, with easy access.lovely speakeasy ambiance with an aerialist performer & live vocal performances. the music they play is all jazzy covers of hit songs, so it fits the vibe so well.the empanadas and the filet mignon taquitos, were so tasteful and delicious.they give you a very decent amount of time to be there, in order to make room for more people. our server Alberto couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating to our preferences & needs while there.would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back speakeasy outside of the hustle and bustle of the major city or times square.“
“For an upscale vibe Peruvian place, this is the spot. Been here multiple times and the food is great with the downstairs vibes giving you upscale without needing to be all dressed up.The ceviche is a must get, as well as the jalea which is the fried seafood platter, Juanita’s chicken (very tender and not dry at all), as well as the lomo saltado (top pick for non-seafood ppl) which is the wok fried beef chunks and veggies. The prices are higher but the portions align with price paid in my opinion. Their green sauce is good and can be used on anything.Drinks were strong and tasty. Staff were friendly and bathroom was clean.“
“chicken empanadas to start were out of this world! lobster soup and steak were so tasty steak cooked to perfection! staff amazing, so friendly and welcoming especially when they found out we are from Scotland! chatted with lady behind bar, sorry cant remember your name who has visited Scotland many times! fab!“
“A different venture from your regular Dykman experience. It is an intimate, sophisticated culinary experience inspired by owner Felix Abarca's birthplace Ecuador. Fusing rich flavors found in Ecuadorian cuisine with its food and beverage program they offer an experience in the shape of a glass or plate.Staff is always inviting and on point. Place is always immaculate and organized. Live music on the weekends by local artist or even the bartender "extrangero music" is always of great taste and not too loud.Pop-up and collaborations with chefs or bartenders happen regularly. The amazing wine list is unique and curated by a great connoisseur and wine enthusiast, the owner Felix. The coziness of this place is what makes it even more special.“
“My husband and I went to eat here last night and we loved it. Very delicious food and very beautiful presentation. The restaurant was full and they were a little understaffed, so it took a long time for the food to arrive, but the owner was so kind and thoughtful to give us everything we ate that night for free and also gave us a bottle of wine. I wish I would've asked him his name, but very nice guy. We are definitely coming back soon.“
“First time on this place,we were celebrating my friend's Birthday, the food was super Delicious,( ordered a churrasco medium well and a lychee Martini) we all ordered different things and were agree with the Great taste of it. The attention was 5 stars. Is not a big place but we were comfortable everything was clean and I was in love with the decoration. Definitely I will go again with my Family. The only problem is the parking on the area,so I recommend go by Cab.“
“As a Peruvian I have been to a fair share of Peruvian restaurants and also recently to Peru as well but I have to say this place takes the crown for best chicken. The food is incredible and you can tell that everything is made in house. I absolutely loved the food as well as the experience and would personally like to thank the owners for making my friend and I feel at home. I will definitely be coming back with my family. Thank you!!!!!!!“
“Comida Buenisima... Lo único tienes que pedir los platos iguales como estan en la carta... Eramos 4 y nos cobraron 5 platos... Deberian de cambiar esto no todas las personas pueden comer el plato exacto como lo tienen... ppr un mofongo aparte nos cobraron el plato del mofongo completo...“
“We had a holiday dinner event..I decided to cater food from Los Amigos due to their reviews...how close it was from work. The food was Dedelicious... we all loved and enjoyed the rice... the chicken..wings... Empandas, everything was just delicious!I place we look forward to going on our lunch break now as well!!Thank you for such delicious food!“
“Loved it here! Came around 10ish so it wasn’t super busy. Service was great! Super nice and helpful. I have the chilaquiles verdes with steak and they were delicious! I just wish they were a little spicier. The passion fruit lemonade was great too! Would come back“
“This was an amazing experience. My family is originally from Chile, the dishes were delicious and authentic, the wine was excellent and I can say enough about the torta mil hoja(dessert). I went with a large party and the staff was wonderful about give recommendations. Excellent experience.Kid-friendliness: My child is 10 not a picky eater. Enjoyed everything“
“First off the staff are amazing - warm and friendly. Like you just walked into someone’s home. They patiently guided us through the menu, and brought out frozen glasses with our perfectly chilled beer. Ordered the chicken and pork stews with a side of plantains, everything was delicious. Almost made 5 stars - could have been slightly less salty and it would’ve!“
“We were walking through Central Park and decided to stop at a random place for a beer and restroom and found this gem. The beer was great, the cocktails were great, the sangria was great, and the service was phenomenal- warm, welcoming, and generous. We'll definitely be back for rhe food later, everything passing by us looked delicious“
“Amazing food. Just simply amazing. Bewitching even. Came here on a Tuesday night (not exactly a going out night) and pretty early too around 6:30 or so. Ordered seafood and the name sake of the restaurant: The Octopus. What arrived was an obscenity of deliciousness. Tentacle was very large with garnish of the Parsnip Puree. It was incredibly soft and tasty. Our server Alejandra was was great and very knowledgeable and made suggestions that were right on point. Guacamole, Lobster Taquitos, Ceviche, my god those were delicious! But the key was the namesake of the restaurant. Octopus was not just delicious it was obscenely so! Cocktails were great even though I don't particularly like them (I think that straight up drink is better). And then to top it all off were the Churros. Best ones I've had since Spain and they were missing the melted chocolate (that might be a great idea). One thing though I didn't count on were the musicians. They just add so much to the ambiance of the place, so if you visit make sure you have some cash on hand. You probably will need it.“
“‘The Freakin Rican’ rocks! I got a Pernil Sandwich with fries and a Guanabana drink. I loved how warm the food was and how natural the drink was. The Spanish music was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing. I even loved the aesthetic of the restaurant! Definitely planning to comeback??!“
“Chucho's Hot Dogs is a great place to grab a delicious and creative hot dog. Their menu offers classic options alongside signature creations, with high-quality ingredients. They even allow for customization so you can build your own hot dog exactly how you like it. If you're looking for a fun and flavorful hot dog experience, Chucho's Hot Dogs is definitely worth checking out!“
“What a blast! The food, the atmosphere, the service and wow the drinks! We were killing time to head back home and met up with family that were already there. The fried shrimp dumplings was so good! And the wings!? Wow! The drinks by far were the highlight of the night. Were definitely going back with some time to chill.“
“So glad we tried this hidden gem for the first time. The host couldn't have been friendlier and the ambience is relaxed, homey and adorable. Homemade guac, salsa and chips were delish and we went with his dinner recommendations which did not disappoint. The fact it's a BYOB is a bonus. We'll totally be back with a larger group.“
“I think this place must have completely changed their menu, because it was absolutely not Cuban, except for an empanada appetizer and plantain sides. It was expensive New American. The description and images are wrong. Look at the latest menu before deciding to go here.“
“The food is AMAZING !!! was a last minute thing and we are so happy we went ! Taste so authentic, and family owned. Out family had an amazing time ! Fries , Barria tacos , horchata, burritos.. all recommended! We will be back to try there pupusas. “
“The best thing about this place is that it is open 24/7! It is perfect to go to at 3 AM when not many places are open, but it is also perfect at any other time of day because they have such a wide variety of empanadas. If you want faster service, download the Snackpass app because sometimes there is a very long line. My favorite flavors are spinach and cheese, mac & cheese, and pernil!“
“Picked up food here during a late night. Nobody was there but the music was blaring. I got a burrito bowl with shrimp and chaulafan with seafood. The food was delicious but prices are a bit high. The seafood was not overcooked. The chaulafan was flavorful and contained a good amount of seafood (mussels, shrimp, and squid) and it wasn't rubbery at all! The fried egg was nice and fluffy as well.“
“This place is spectacular, I have no complaints with the service at all you can eat, as on other occasions where I have had the experience of ordering à la carte, come to Bonfire to have a very good time, stop by here to celebrate a birthday and they congratulated my junior classmate with a piece of 3 leches which was very delicious.“
“Dropped in here a few weeks ago for some drinks and catching up with my friend that lives nearby. I think I had passed this a bunch of times in my adventures of going to Jackson Heights but never checked it out. One perk automatically, there's a check in special of a complimentary glass of Sangria! I haven't seen a check-in special in you don't know how long. It was really exciting. I went with the red sangria and then later ordered their take on a smoked old fashioned. Both were very potent and delicious. The aroma of the old fashioned was amazing. We also ended up getting a flan desert. Now this is going to sound ridiculous but I normally hate flan and this was really delicious. It had a texture that wasn't too jiggly and just creamy surrounded with beautiful strawberries and layered with caramel. It was almost more like a custard and I'll take custardy flan over jello flan every day. Their menu and brunch menu sounds delicious and would definitely think about coming back to try more.“
“Delicious and fabulous service! The service workers recommended the passion fruit tres leches and it was fabulous; the passion fruit layer added some tartness to the otherwise sweet cake.Out of abundant generosity they also gifted me a piece of their traditional tres leches cake. It was also delicious but definitely more sweet, without the fruit layer. Recommended with coffee!“
“I'm obsessed with Lunera! This Colombian-Mexican gem in Astoria has stolen my heart and taste buds. Their sangria is hands-down my favorite - a perfect blend of fruity and tangy. But honestly, everything on the menu is a must-try! From the mouthwatering churrasco (their specialty, and for good reason!) to the flavorful empanadas and paella , every dish is a masterpiece. The owners are often present, warmly greeting customers and making everyone feel like family. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the service is top-notch. If I had to choose just one favorite, it'd be the churrasco - but honestly, I dream about everything on their menu! Five stars and a permanent spot on my favorite restaurants list. ?? Lunera, you have my heart (and taste buds) forever!“
“Small, cozy atmosphere with yummy food and drinks. Guacamole was fresh, chips crisp. Chuleta al pastor amazing with its pineapple jam, moro and shaved brussel sprouts salad. The corn was yummy. I expected the maple maduros to be sweeter because of the maple but they were regular maduros which was still perfectly fine. Tamarind margarita and mezcal drink were perfect. I will definitely recommend and be back.“
“Came by for an early dinner on a Saturday night. This place is a little outside the busy main Astoria area. The outside looks very minimalistic you wouldn't know it's Peruvian just passing by. From the drinks to the entree, everything was tasty and portioned well although slightly on the pricier side. One cocktail, fruit drink, arepa small dish, ceviche mixto, and entree came out to $100 after tip.“
“My husband and I had dinner at Libelulu last week and it was great! The service couldn’t be better and the food was delicious. We started with the ceviche, had Ropa Vieja and chicken entrees and rice pudding for dessert. I highly recommend!“
“I have been coming here for the last 2 years and there hasn’t been a better service than Kathy she is more than welcoming, Kathy has been more than welcoming and up to service. I can rate her the best employee here, the last 2 years. Sebastian has also provided nothing but the best customer service For three years. this place is the best not only in customer service but in all aspects. If you’re looking for good food, drinks & food this is the place to be.“
“One of my favorite places in NYC.Food, Service and Ambience are always amazing here.Live music from local artist Thursday to Sunday. The secret to the success of this establishment is the staff. They are hard working, attentive, and always make you feel welcomed, like family. Bartenders usually know what you are drinking when you come back the 3rd time and are always quick to serve, even when there is no space at the bar. In the kitchen is the matriarch, Mama Henry, the Owners mother. She makes every sauces, flan, beans, and many more items from scratch.Happy Hours are from open to 7:00PM on weekdays, their sangria, margaritas are strong and on point and come in many fresh fruit flavors. Some must haves on the tapas are the empanadas, mofonguitos, pulpo, tostones and chorizo, bacon wrapped dates, canastitas de bacalao, for mains the churrasco, paella and salmon are amazing.I used to bartend here for 6 years and I never once was tired of the food, this place is like family to me.Truly a neighborhood gem.“
“This place is really different. I love the Vinyl when you come in. The hostess was pleasant and told us to wait at the bar. The bartender immediately came over and showed us how to scan the cocktail menu. The atmosphere is young and loud. The table service was amazing. The young lady who attended us made accommodations for us without a fuss. The food was good. The Sangria was flowing. Did not feel rushed. All in all a great experience. I live in South Jersey but I would definitely come back!!!❤️❤️❤️“
“To begin with... it fills me with joy to have a Uruguayan Bakery near where I live, nothing better than having things that make you remember your beloved homeland. We come very often to eat here and buy takeaway. The cakes that I order are delicious, everyone is super satisfied and happy with the quality. The cream on the outside is always super sweet, but these cakes don't make you sick and make you want to continue eating more! Congratulations to the pastry chef who is a genius! Everything else we have bought is always fresh. The crumb sandwiches that you always worry are not going to be fresh, well here they are always delicious and fresh. Spectacular attention as always! Many thanks for everything!“
“El Chivito de Oro in queens NYC offers an amazing experience to uruguyan culture. Exceptional entraña and pasta Alfredo, boasting the perfect combination of quality and affordability. The warm ambiance and welcoming staff add to the dining experience, making it a restaurant worth returning to. Highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious food at reasonable prices in the city.Honestly best entraña and Alfredo Pasta in town!“
“1st timers and the food, the atmosphere, the staff, the comic book shpeal...all of it...we loved! However the music caan be a lil bit lower just cus it's brinner lol Now I doo wanna come a lil later to get my dance on cus the music was also banging! I came w a group of techs n nurses to unwind so thnx cus we did!“
“Finally…authentic, delicious Dominican food that I don’t have to go into NYC to order. My gathering was such a hit , catering was the best! The pictures won’t do this place justice. It’s the taste of a hole in the wall I missed so much. From their chicharron (fried pork rinds), to classic mangu (mashed plantains) with cheese, eggs + sausage. I’m drooling just looking through my food pictures from them. This review is long overdue. Trey it for yourself you won’t regret it!! Did I mention how friendly they all are? The service was great too!“
“The place is very cozy, the service is very good and the food, not to mention the encebollado, is 100 out of 10, very good, and the Ecuadorian tray, not to mention everything, it is super, they offer catering for special events with a variety of dishes, the truth is, recommended a thousand times and They have parking which is a plus in West New York“
“Just ordered on Uber Eats and it is by far the best cuban food that I've found since moving here from Miami!!! Will definitley be ordering again!! Only place up north that I've found that makes the simple staples: Empanadas/Croquettes/Sandwiches correctly!!!“
“Food is so good, and the people tending are so nice. Everything was made fresh for us on the spot, and it was delicious. I hate going to places and for the mofongo or tostones to feel like they have been sitting there premade, so annoying. We had a chicken chimi, a pernil mofongo, cheese empanadas, a morir soñando and another shake. The chimi was perfect, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the bread was nice and toasty, and the rest of the fillings were perfect. The mofongo was nice and moist, they also cover it with a nice bechamel sauce and the pernil was deliciously seasoned. Going back to try the reg chimi :)Pescado frito con tostones is very popular, two dif people came in and ordered it while we were sitting there. I'll have to try it too.“
“My all-time favorite neighborhood restaurant. Grew up eating here, the food and service is always top notch. El Unico has catered countless events for family and friends with the most generous servings at an affordable price, if you know you know!“
“Our favorite place for dinner!!! Ate there three times in four days! The plates and bowls were incredible. Shrimp. Chicken. Avocado. Coconut rice. And the sweet plantains!!! Nicest hostess ever — Catalina is a ray of sunshine! Makes us sad to return to Indiana.“
“We came on a Saturday for a college reunion. They had a live performer who kept a great ambiance. I tried one Spice Mango Daiquiri and ended up having three as it was so refreshing and flavorful. Definitely coming back. Recommended for groupsWheelchair accessibility: It’s on the first floor. Has a ramp by the entrance.“
“Food was Amazing as Always … Best Ecuadorian Restaurant in New Jersey for sure ! Their Encebollado Barcelona which i always have is the best ! , besides their Caldo de Bola and Guatita are Outstanding and I’m sure all the other dishes are just are as Great ! I know sometimes of the day is a wait to be seated since it’s so packed … but the wait is Definitely Worth itParking: You have to go early because the only parking is street parking , you’ll usually find some after a while …“
“Overall, I thought this place was good, not great. I had a combo fish, and the ropa vieja was delicious, as was the very interesting dry chicken, but the pork was too fatty. My biggest complaint was that everything, including the rice and beans, was cold. I know latin restaurants like music, but it was so loud you you not hear across the table, kind of painful. I would still come here again as it's a good value and a quick pre show dinner.“
“Me, my friend and Don came here after a long weekend in the city. This was an amazing place to slow down rest and eat amazing food. I loved the chicken with cream and hearts of palm. I believe it's calledFRANGO AO MOLHO DE PALMITO EN BREASt. I learned how to make it I enjoyed it so much. Thank you for a nice “
“I came here on a random late Saturday night with a friend looking for a spot to get a drink and maybe have some luck in finding a place still open to serve some appetizers. It was to our surprise that the kitchen was fully open after 10pm! My friend ordered the Salmon and I got the Ceasar salad which was very delicious, however, I regretted not ordering the mofongo. People that ordered around me had me craving it! The DJ was really good too; played old school music and currents ones. All the servers provided great customer service. What I liked the most was the crowd- it was almost empty and everyone was just living their best life dancing on their chairs and playing games. If you’re young and single looking for a place to meet people; I doubt this is the place. Everyone was in their late 30s and older hanging out after the brunch crowd went on their merry way. I will be going back again with more friends to enjoy good food, good drinks, and good company.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor and plenty of space“
“There's is no better place to eat than at La Casona in Union City NJ. The price is reasonable, atmosphere, service and the food is fantastic. The price is right. Forget about paying 16 $ for arroz con picallado .Here at La Casona you will only pay $10.00 Check their daily price for the weekly cheap menu. No more that $ 11.00BYOB“
“I didn't even know this place existed until a friend suggesting going here for dinner and I'm so glad. This place is a hidden gem.***In a rush? Skip to the end for my tips.*** When we arrived, they were getting ready for a private event later that evening, but they still let us stay and eat. The owner patiently waited (and had to come back several times) because it took us a bit of time to make up our mind. Everything sounded so good, so it was hard to choose just a few dishes. We were very happy with our choices. Everything was delicious!- Shrimp burger - I already knew that the texture would be like a patty consistency of minced shrimp, but my friends were surprised because they were expecting whole shrimp pieces in the burger. I was a fan of the dill sauce on it, but if you don't like dill, maybe ask for it on the side? The dill taste and smell is strong, which goes perfectly with the shrimp burger.- Empanada Sampler - I wish I remembered what flavors were included in this, but everything was super good.- Mofongo Supreme - The mofongo was delicious and it came with pieces of cheese, shrimp, and steak. Definitely need to go back to try the lobster mac and cheese that everyone seems to be raving about and try their other dishes, as well, which all sound delicious.Tips: - There is plenty of street parking nearby and even a municipal parking lot to the left of the restaurant (if you are facing the restaurant).- It seems like a lot of people do take-out so that is an option, too.- We went on a Saturday night and left around 8:30 and they were supposed to be opened until 11:00, but they closed early for a private event, so maybe you should call ahead to make sure that they are open for guests or pick-up. Someone stopped by and was disappointed that they were closed early.“
