“Walked to this restaurant/bar twice from my hotel while on business from the Midwest. I don’t speak Spanish, yet all the patrons and staff do! Everyone was super friendly, and I thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in music, people and food heavily influenced by the Caribbean & Central America. Prices were reasonable, food was great, but the friendly/happy vibe was the best part. I’ll be back…“
“Hidden gem on Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen. The storefront doesn't seem like much and when you walk in the place is sparse but oh the food. Taste is amazingly delicious. Everything is spiced to perfection from the appetizer to the dessert. The potatoes with three sauces was amazing. I especially liked how flavorful the sauces were. The causa with chicken didn't disappoint. The lomo salteado was excellent and the ají de gallina was stupendous. For dessert we has the tres leches and a flan like dessert simply stupendous. Highly highly recommended.“
“We ordered carnita tacos and the presentation was very good, although the meat was a little too salty, you could eat it, the atmosphere is like a bar where you can go to talk with friends but it is also familiar. In conclusion it is nothing wow but it is not the worst either so you can pass on the customer service is good.“
“Gilbertos has been around for a long time. So no need to say that the food is very good. The service also outstanding and the ambience. Well it's a cafeteria type place with a few tables and a full counter. They are Cuban sandwich is really good and so is the ropa vieja.“
“I went here for the first time earlier this month and loved it. The food, music and ambiance - Excellent! Best tres leche cake I ever had. I always tell my friends. Great place to go on a date or hang with family or friends . I look forward to going back.“
“Yep I gotta say I have a high level of taste in food I don’t fool around with food buddy but these guys let me tell you they will get you right can’t tell me nothing else seriously they the best If you don’t agree you shouldn’t be allowed to eat“
“This place is such a hidden gem! I left work sick and I wanted something that tasted real homemade and I'm so happy I found it. Walking in it just felt like I walked into my mom's kitchen and I already knew the food was going to be good. I'm sorry I don't have pictures but if you have a Hispanic mom just know the food is going to be about the same. I ordered the beef soup and it only needed a little bit of lemon and salt for my taste buds but the portion was huge for only nine dollars and it came with white rice with which was so fluffy and good and it came with fresh tortillas I cannot exaggerate how nice and soft they were. I also ordered fried chicken because I knew I would be hungry later and I'll try to post a picture but please please please give these people some love it's such a steal“
“This was an amazing experience. My family is originally from Chile, the dishes were delicious and authentic, the wine was excellent and I can say enough about the torta mil hoja(dessert).
