“This place has been a staple for me for more than a decade. The food is authentic Ecuadorian cuisine that brings me right back home, and the service is always kind and attentive. It’s simple, cozy, and welcoming. proof that you don’t need fancy to feel good and eat well. I’m grateful to have this restaurant in the community.“
“My husband and I live right down the street and always pass this place when driving home. We decided this morning to pop in. I love that's it's most likely family owned as we own a family owned business also. We love to give our business to small local businesses. We ordered the chicken and rice and beans and it was well seasoned and cooked. Very tasty. We will definitely be back to try another item off the menu.“

“This is a new find for me, and wow! I'm hooked in their skirt steak. Perfect seasoned and tender. I've had the chicken soup at lunch and it's just like an old Latin, Caribbean grandmas recipe. Highly recommend this hidden gem in Hackensack!“

“My original review was 1 star from the fall of 2025. I wanted to give them one more try, and it was AMAZING!!!
On Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, at 11:30am, I decided on my day off to go out for some food. I passed Albert's Mofongo, thinking no thanks... due to really bad customer service from the front staff and food that was okay at best. But I ended up turning around and wanted to see if it was any better vs my last few visits.
The front staff greeted me when I walked in and gave me a tour of their buffet. They were warm and welcoming.
Next is the food, 10 out of 10, such a HUGE difference from last year! It was so delicious and not overly salted at all.
Albert or whoever owns this restaurant, the front staff, cooks, and management have done an incredible job changing this restaurant compared to how it was last year. I will 100% come back to this restaurant.“

“First time here. The Chicken Salad was very good. The dressing was filling but not overwhelming. The chicken tasted grilled and fresh. The bowl they give you is perfect to shake the dressing to mix with the salad. Also had Oxtail with beans and rice. It was very good. All was reasonable priced. Overall, I am happy with the food and the location is perfect for anyone getting out of work and walking around the bus terminal.“

“Today I ordered an Ecuadorian warmed for pick up. The restaurant owners are so attentive and friendly! The service is very good and fast. The meat had very good flavor and the rice was delicious. I recommend this restaurant to enjoy very delicious Ecuadorian dishes. The prices are reasonable and they have many options. I will definitely return to try other dishes!🙏🏽“

“Former Mi Tierrita restaurant at 252 Main St in Hackensack is the new best place in town to have some great food and quality service. Lorena was very nice and the food was amaizing .not sure about the name of the new restaurant taking place there but can't wait to give a possitive reveiw to this new business.“

“I wanted Ecuadorian food for my birthday. A friend suggested this spot, it did not disappoint. The best Ecuadorian food I’ve had outside of Ecuador. The encebollado was superb, yucca cookies right. The broth was great consistency. I loved it. Down to the Ecuadorian sodas and other plates.“
