“We walked by Sombrero Restaurant last night needing a place to eat before a 7pm show. We were seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and lively. The wait staff was friendly and the food/beverages were excellent. Prices were very reasonable. A great choice. Definitely recommend.“

“Folks from California in particular like to complain that New York doesn't have good Mexican food, which is of course patently untrue. You just have to know where to look, what to order. I got the poblano mole here which I would definitely recommend. (I also had the handmade tortillas with this.) My husband got a burrito, which was fine, I think, but no "mission burrito" (IYKYK). Both of us had clean plates though -- the testament of a good meal I thought the salsas that came with the chips and salsa were all pretty good too. Nothing was mind blowing but the service was super friendly and I walked away with my food cravings pretty satisfied.“

“I took my fiancé here for his birthday dinner last Saturday and it did not disappoint. My whole party loved the food and the drinks. They are definitely not cheap with the alcohol lol. “This is some of the best food of any kind l've had in my 45 years living in NYC. Honestly, it's amazing, chef Jose is delightful and his dishes are so nuanced and delicious. Octopus tostados are heavenly, I have no idea what all it consist of but they are delicious. There are three, I can't eat more than two but the last is always enjoyed by someone else at the table. Burrito are a staple for my lunch/dinner... so fresh and comforting. AND I'm not really a fan of most Mexican food but this is on a whole other level. I just finished a salad of shrimp, avocado, mango, cherry tomato, with paper thin fennel shredded on top. The shrimp are cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all but ever so slightly firm and succulent. I live in Manhattan and there isn't anything near me as delicious and fresh.It’s really a special place.“

“This is my first time at this restaurant. My friend found it for us and he specifically picked it because he heard it had good cocktails. we ordered four different cocktails. All of them were pretty good. I wish I remembered the names of them but the blue cup with the pink outside was one that was my favorite. By far the ceviche was bomb. The guac a little bit of flavor for me, but mixing it with the ceviche made that even pretty darn good. Really enjoyed the fish taco over the other two pictured. we got the Maduros which were fresh and yuka fries. we also got the octopus which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chipotle, shrimp in the pineapple was honestly not my favorite. My friend really enjoyed it as he enjoyed sweet dishes, but it was too sweet for me. Overall, I definitely recommend a place. Definitely get the ceviche and the octopus! And I'm not even a big seafood person to say that. The service was great, and while we were there, the waiter even gave us a shot on the house. So check it out.“

“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. “This is the first pizza place I've been to in the U.S., and the owner couple kindly helped me with the bill. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable, so I want to go again. I thought it would be a greasy pizza, but it wasn't greasy. I ordered it thinking it was a Korean large size, but it was almost twice the size, so if you're Korean, be careful about the size.Really good to buy pizza, burger etc.“

“Absolutely delicious Oaxacan food. I've always wanted to visit Oaxaca and this place definitely gave us a taste of what it will be like. The restaurant is small with a few tables but it wasn't crowded when we went for lunch on a holiday Monday. My boyfriend and I shared the mole poblano, mole oaxaqueño, and molcajete. The mole dishes came with rice, beans, and warm tortilla and I also got a small horchata. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, bursting with flavor with every bite. Nothing was too spicy but if you like sweeter things, I would highly recommend the mole poblano.“

They have the pastor tacos in the traditional rotating-roster, and they were delish! “This is the best place to get Mexican food in yonkers, I've tried a lot of places in the area but nothing comes close to here. I've had Tacos Al Pastor, Tacos Dorados and Enchiladas de Mole Poblano. They also make incredible in house hot sauces. The only thing they do not have is any hard liquor on site, so don't expect margaritas but the food is enough to satisfy anyone, come check out this hidden gem in Yonkers!“

You basically just order your food and they bring it to you after it's done. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was packed with flavor. “Recently came here and the burgers are good! It’s the sister store to George’s Deli on 28th and 37th street. But anyways the place is relatively new but it has way more to offer it’s not just a place where you get deli food but now they offer Mexican dishes. On top of that they have a variety of Mexican products! I feel right at home here. Also one of the employees told me they sell specific mexican dishes on the weekends like barbacoa. “Being from southern California, I had high high hopes for this birria and consome and I was not disappointed! A great deal for 3 tacos for $12. Their mulitas were absolutely heavenly and that consome was cooked to perfection I drank the entire thing after dipping my tacos and mulita. We took these to go and sat at a nearby dog park to eat it. There was on line when we went (a Friday at around lunch time) which I was pleasantly surprised by! While we were waiting, another patron eagerly exclaimed that she had been looking for this food truck and wasn't aware that they had moved locations so it's evident this spot is beloved and sought out. “My sister and I stopped in Jajaja Mexicana for lunch. The restaurant is inside Whole Foods, and is in the far back of the dining area. We each had the turmeric cauliflower bowl which was absolutely delicious. We also shared chips and salsa and were able to try the hot sauces The charcoal hot sauce is a must try! “This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“
