“This is the place where you can find authentic Mexican food like made right at grandma's house. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients and everything is super delicious, from the drinks, appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. The staff is friendly and attentive. They are always super busy so not much time for chatting but always making sure costumers feel good. My most favorite is the Horchata juice, the flautas, and the tacos al pastor. I highly recommended this restaurant if you can truly appreciate authentic delicious Mexican food.“

“It was a surprise to find this little restaurant in Harlem. There were no tables, and we took the last two seats at the bar. While we waited, I surprisingly felt at home. The aroma of the food, the care with which Karina prepared each of the dishes, and the kindness and joy they served us. By the time our table was ready, we didn't want to take it anymore; we ate much more than we planned to order because we didn't want to miss out on their delicious food. I have dietary restrictions, and I was surprised to see that everything from the exquisite tortillas to the delicious tres leches dessert was prepared right there, gluten-free and preservative-free. “I couldn’t get a picture of anyone’s food since we all dug in right away but the food here is amazing! We had their Birria tacos, a steak meal and a steak fajitas meal—chef’s kiss! They were very kind, welcoming and family oriented here. The place is small, I will say, it’s way smaller than I expected but nonetheless, we were quickly seated and the music was good the entire time. This was a memorable experience , thank you!“

“Delicious food, good service, and a massive selection of agave-based drinks. Lovely ambiance / decor inside, and the dishes/bowls that they use are also lovely (and for sale, apparently). The place is among the most expensive in the neighborhood by a decent margin, but you certainly do feel like you're having an elevated experience (and the food was surprisingly filling).
We started with the trio of moles which were delicious, though the lightest one they offered did taste surprisingly close to vodka / tomato sauce, they provided tortillas which was nice but not nearly enough (we had to ask for more and then they charged us extra for it, despite not giving us enough the first time). The menu is rather short, so make sure there are things you like before going. The tlayuda with added meat was delicious, as were the tacos (which were $10 each) and the fluke aguachile also good (watermelon in summer is always a welcome treat).“

“The spot of full of lots of culture. The customer service was Great. He made sure to let us know all of the specials and deals they had going on right away. The food has so much flavor. For example they had this mushroom and cheese dip with chips that was so delicious. My personal favorite is the stake taco . Me and my man really enjoyed both the food and customer service.“

I unfortunately came on a Friday night (avoid Friday nights eating in, just order out) and they were very short staffed. My waiter was friendly but I asked for a on the rocks margarita and got frozen, I asked for tap water, never got it and i never received utensils. The music was incredibly loud. But it’s nyc on a Friday night.

The Good: The woman in the back was a BOSS!!! running everything! She was so sweet and handled everyone with care. It seemed she was also responsible for the online orders which looked overwhelming.

The green salsa sauce was amazing and soooo good! Don’t change the recipe!

The food again was delicious. Really large portions. Take it easy or go ham!

“What a wonderful surprise in Inwood: Serrano Salsa!

Mexican food has never really been my thing, or at least it wasn't until I discovered this restaurant. Serrano Salsa completely changed my mind. I could honestly eat here every day.

The food is sensational, and I say that as someone who is very hard to please when it comes to restaurants. I've lived in New York for many years and have probably complained about New York restaurants more often than I've praised them. But Serrano Salsa serves some of the best food I've had in the city. Truly.

It feels like a small family restaurant where everything is fresh and prepared with genuine care. The food has that wonderful quality of a home-cooked meal made by your favorite relative: generous, comforting, flavorful, and made with love.

The restaurant is clean, the food is consistently delicious, and there is something warm and unpretentious about the whole place.

Serrano Salsa has become one of my favorite discoveries in Inwood. I can't recommend it highly enough.“
