“On Thursday we stopped by La Fortaleza Lodi. Truly enjoyed the environment. Very authentic. Feels like Mexico close to home. Got to see an old mentor Genaro. We caught up. Took his recommendation of the Trompito y El machete.He was courteous and attentive. He has a passion for attention and observed him take care of his customers throughout the restaurant.Family was very pleased and truly want to come back and experience the beautiful setting at La Fortaleza Lodi. Truly a go to Mexican restaurant to experience and dine in.“
“This place is hit or miss…mostly miss. I’m a very polite and friendly person and when I feel like my customer service as a customer is better than your professional service, that’s when I complain. I don’t know names, but one specific younger girl, I always feel like I’m a bother. She looks annoyed at me…lol it’s whatever to me. I’m stoned most of the time so I’m chillin, not sweating it. There have been a couple of times where they forgot my chips (twice) and also a bottle of coke…and I just don’t have the energy to deal with feeling like I’m committing a crime by speaking with them.The reason i say this is, I reached out to corporate to let them know about me missing chips and soda. The process was so annoying, and I feel like it’s 110% intentional to keep people from reaching out. I spent several minutes filling out everything on the receipt number (address, date, time, store number…)had to do this a couple of times because once I started the chat, the bot asked for this. Then someone got on the chat and directed me to a link to have to fill out ALL the info again. I explained the situation, provided everything to them again, and got no where. I was told something along the lines of “thanks for letting us know, we aim to blah blah blah” sort of thing.This is why I don’t want to deal with the people in the store.The only reason I come here is because of convenience and Wawa“
“Really good carne asada tacos (5/5), brisket tacos (4.5/5)! The carne asada in the tacos was incredible - moist, flavorful, and very umami packed without being chewy. Really good. The brisket was great they have you a LOT for the filling. The mile enchiladas were okay (4/5) - the mole sauce was good but the chicken inside was very chewy.“

“We came here on the recommendation of a friend and even with her glowing review, we were still blown away! Every dish was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were a steal. Our family had the truffle quesadillas, the carne asada tacos, and the langosta tacos. We shared an order of guac and the kids had the flan and churros for dessert. Great dinner; we can't wait to return!“
“Came in on Good Friday around 6:00 for dinner and sat at the bar. We were warmly welcomed and ordered house margaritas, which were perfectly balanced. We also ordered a mezcal flight. The bartender, Eric, was flexible with the choices in the flight. We ordered from the happy hour menu and had guacamole, beef tacos, and beef nachos, which were thankfully not served as a pile of chips. Each chip was layered with the most tender, flavorful beef, a beautiful pickled jalapeno, tomato, and cheese, with a serving of guacamole adorning the center of the plate. The beef tacos were well seasoned and tender, and the salsa verde was fresh and crisp. The best part of our evening was the hospitality. Eric was personable, informative, and attentive. He educated us about the different mezcals and tequilas and gave us some tips and tricks for navigating the city. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again.“

When I found out about this seafood version of their restaurant, I knew I had to try it.Especial Ceviche - Love the crunchy tortilla bottom and creamy avocado slices on top. Very refreshing.Fish Taco - The fish was so fresh and fried perfectly. Absolutely delicious.Spicy Shrimp Taco - Not too spicy. So flavorful and tasty.It's awesome that Los. Tacos No. 1 is right next door, too. Next time, I'll grab a chicken taco before heading over for another shrimp and fish taco.“

“First they had valet parking which made it easy to drop and enter ,the business was packed but getting seating was not bad since we made reservations which I highly recommend to do....place was goergues with so much Mexican decorations and actors with costumes which entertained the kids as well as adults many places to take pictures with for great memories....the staff were extremely friendly and always paying attention to your needs and concerns...The food was very delicious...the drinks were well prepared with many different types ....at one point my wife asked for her steak medium well but came out medium rare they took rite away and cooked it a little more with no problem the server came back and made sure it was perfect...they have a dance floor on the second level...live entertainment...wonderful music...the experience was excellent...great for birthdays....they sing happy Birthday and present you with Mexican Sombrero and ? pinata dessert .....great atmosphere....I want to thank all the staff for a memorable birthday....THAN YOU for making it special ...A+ ....guys worth the money for the experience...“
“We were super hungry and found this family-owned hole-in-the-wall place and decided to check it out…and I’m so glad we did! Margaritas were amazing (and so many flavor choices!) and the menu was perfect for me as a gluten free vegetarian. Everything was clearly labeled and there was a vegetarian section. I had enchiladas which were soo delicious. You won’t regret trying this place!“
“I cannot sing the praises of this place and the staff enough! We had a long day at the museum and we were all starving and the kids were very cranky. We took forever trying to find a place that they would all find something to eat at but that place didn't work out so we came here not realizing how lucky we were. After having a quick glance at the menu I realized two of my children would probably not eat anything. Two of the ladies that work there helped us work it out to piece together a meal for them with components they already have. It took quite a while figuring everything out but they were patient and helpful. The food was outstanding and the cocktails and mocktails were phenomenal. I wish I lived closer because this would be a regular place for me. Highly recommend!“

“We enjoyed ourselves there. The atmosphere was very upbeat, almost too clubby at times with the volume of music but it was 8pm so I guess it was fine. The restaurant was definitely busy, it was taco Tuesday. We both had the mix and match $6 tacos that were on special and the $5 Tecates.The service was fine. Nothing above and beyond but very nice and friendly. We were greeted at the door and were given a table for two. I like the fact that we were in one of the corners because there was a lot going on.I think the only downside of the experience, which wasn’t the restaurant’s fault, was the drunk 30-something year old white woman who was literally so loud and so drunk she was disturbing everyone. I don’t think she should have kept doing shots of tequila, but I guess to each their own. She was just a problem for everyone and was so loud it kept interrupting our conversation and meal.The food was very good. We tried 4 different tacos each and they each had different delicious qualities. If you like trying variety, Tuesday night is definitely the night to go because you can get a little something of all different kinds of tacos.All in all, I would definitely go back again.“

“When I find a gem, I share it! Yes, yes, yes! Hallelujah to good food! We were trying to find some tacos to eat before going home and I came across a little taco truck that I had to try! They have the pastor tacos in the traditional rotating-roster, and they were delish! I also had an elote ? with everything, and a tiny bit of the powder-picante was enough for me to get a kick of spice in my mouth that turned on all the right taste buds! “This is a great place that I unexpectedly stumbled upon. From the outside it kind of just looks like a small convenience store, but once we ordered and got our food were were so happy. You basically just order your food and they bring it to you after it's done. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was packed with flavor. Another person in my party ordered the chicken quesadilla and is still raving about it! It's really a great find on 9th Avenue and will definitely be back.“

“My sister and I stopped in Jajaja Mexicana for lunch. The restaurant is inside Whole Foods, and is in the far back of the dining area. We each had the turmeric cauliflower bowl which was absolutely delicious. We also shared chips and salsa and were able to try the hot sauces The charcoal hot sauce is a must try! I highly recommend checking out Jajaja!“
“I’m addicted! The menu is simple, the food is flavorful and well presented. Service is wonderful and great value. Casual setting with beach-y/food truck vibes vs a restaurant-proper. I suspect that this place would have a lot more foot traffic if it were in town near Bloomfield Ave or Watchung, but I’m happy to have it so nearby in Upper Montclair, and I hope they are a long-standing fixture here (have seen a few places coke and go in this spot). The food here stands out miles ahead of a couple of nearby Mexican options, albeit smaller menu.“

Excellent and authentic food with warm, friendly staff, and a great bar selection with many tequilas. Nina’s is great! Reasonable too! “This is a very underrated truck in the city. One of the best birria spots I've tried in a while. I tried this place on new years, and it was sooo good, I dragged any of my friends that mentioned anything about food that day. I first got the birria torta, which was a heavenly sandwich, and a great deal for 10$. I also went back for a birria quesadilla, which was also really good! The service was quick both times, and I really appreciate them keeping reasonable prices on new years, with 1 dollar waters and 2 dollar sodas! I can't speak too much about the ambiance because I assume this was a temporary location for new years, but I would follow this truck anywhere. No food pics, food was gone way before I ever thought about taking a picture.“
