Navigate East Rutherford's Mexican food scene with Restaurantji's recommendations.
“Don’t go here. We want to keep it a secret. Small family run long time Mexican restaurant been a staple in North Jersey for 40+ years. We come for the food and for being part of the family. Cash only. Normal selection bar. Be part of the family or don’t come. Food is ridiculously outstanding. It’s “
“Monima is an amazing and caring worker at this location. I work at the American Dream and come to Taco Bell a lot for my breaks, and Monima always remembers my order and greets me warmly, even if I’ve been gone for a while! All the workers are so friendly and I love coming by. I would love to have Monima at any Taco Bell location I visit!! :)“
“Great tacos, AWESOME deal if you do the 30 for $30 deal (bring a few friends and you can easily finish 30) I've also ordered delivery from the Englewood location (also did the 30 for 30 that time) and I feel like you get more meat when you dine in (or it could just be the difference between Englewood and East Rutherford... hard to say as I've never dined in at Englewood and never ordered delivery from East Rutherford). The salsas are deliciously spicy. They provide lots of lime wedges and onion/cilantro to help cut the grease. I was full after 5 tacos. The 30/30 deal comes with 10 each of pollo, al pastor, and carnitas. I think carnitas was my favorite, the other two were kinda dry. but you can easily remedy that with extra salsa and lime juice ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you don't do the 30 for 30 deal with friends, a normal order is 4 tacos for around $9 i believe. Still not bad, and I'd say it's worth it for that price as well, but you really can't beat $1 per taco in this area.“
“Always have friendly and helpful staff. Very understanding, if you ask them to change gloves because I'm vegetarian, they do it happily. At other chipotle locations they make faces, even if I provide a reason why I requested to change their gloves. Also, once I remember calling them during closing hour with 5 minutes prior to it and I asked if I can still come in, might be 5 mins late and they said please sure, we will be cleaning so don't worry, will unlock the door for you, I didnt sleep empty stomach that night. So things like this matter to me & I highly appreciate it.“
“First, the great: order the chilaquiles for brunch. It’s a great non-traditional “elevated” take that retains all the beloved parts of the dish: the soggy-crunchy texture, the fried egg. The twists made sense, from the creamy non-spicy salsa to the hearty beans and mole crunch. It appeals to Americans’ preference for creamy foods. Also, if you can handle a bit of heat, order anything with salsa macha, a slightly spicy smoky-nutty chili oil.The bad: temperature and texture. It felt like most of the food sat at the counter for a long time before they got delivered to our table, or they didn’t even bother to cook the food. The tuna tostada and spring pea tlayuda sat on a soggy, leathery base. The chilaquiles did not touch the stove, just a bunch of chips tossed in sauce. The tacos arrived pretty close to room temp. Flavors were pleasant, but I expected something more intense or interesting from a Michelin place.Overall, the food’s pretty darn good for the price despite the flaws.“
“Really good carne asada tacos (5/5), brisket tacos (4.5/5)! The carne asada in the tacos was incredible - moist, flavorful, and very umami packed without being chewy. Really good. The brisket was great they have you a LOT for the filling. The mile enchiladas were okay (4/5) - the mole sauce was good but the chicken inside was very chewy.“
“I stopped by for drinks around 7pm on a Saturday with some friends. Thankfully there was a table available and we were seated right away. Bosco's has an extensive drink menu, and happy hour if you go during certain times on weekdays. The drinks were average NY prices, and were very good. I got the Sam Said So, while my friend got a Negroni. Both were very good! The service was great, and the decor was fun.“
“My all time favorite taco place in the city. Los Tacos No.1 was my favorite until I tried this place. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their tacos but their pastor is my favorite. Whenever I am in BK, I will always make a stop here. Also try Tako Sando and Mallard Drake (al pastor hamburger) which is right down the “
