“This place was recommended to me by a Jamaican woman. She mentioned the food was the best in the area (there are a number of other Jamaican restaurants in the area) but they can run out of food and it gets busy at lunch times, so I avoided it. Today I tried and we found parking lot made parking easy. Service was prompt and the food was much better than some of other places nearby including a chain restaurant. Jerk pork was very tender and the rice and beans were excellent. Others in our party loved the chicken and shrimp pasta specials. Will have to try some other dishes. (I worked nearby but never tried it sooner because I was warned about crowds but it was not that crowded and we were served promptly. I would not go for atmosphere but the servers were friendly.“

“My opinion is 8.7/10. Is it the best Jamaican beef patty I've ever had? No but overall our place that makes handmade Jamaican beef patties with a good overall flavor I recommend it. “I work at the hospital nearby so I frequent this location a lot😅 I’m vegetarian, and everytime I go there for my spinach patty they always make the extra effort to have them either ready, or made fresh for me. The entire staff is super nice and goes above and beyond. Gabby is one of the sweetest people there and I appreciate her soooo much for always making sure I’m able to get my veggie patty. “I saw that one review from the person saying their oxtail was bad, but saw a plethora of positive reviews standing against it. I decided to give them a go and do NOT regret it! Lovely little spot for a late night meal! The cashier was very pleasant with a great attitude. I came by after finding my Airbnb and ordered 3 empanadas: Jerk Chicken, Salmon, & Oxtail. This is not a standard menu option, but she told me I could mix and match :)

The food was delicious and it was clear that a lot of care was put into the food and presentation. “I absolutely love this spot! Any time I am in the Bronx I have to stop in and get my favorite curry chicken with rice(lathered in that curry gravy) and peas and cabbage😋…. My wife’s favorite dish is the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage of course. Their fried chicken goes well with brown stew chicken gravy. I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stewed chicken, Mac and cheese is also really good. I have been meaning to try the salmon and their shrimp, I think that will be next. I will say aside from that, you can expect friendly service. Atmosphere is calming 🤗 did I say I love this place? 😬“

“I absolutely LOVE the food. I got a plate with oxtails, rice & peas, plantains and he makes sure your plate is full. Everything tasted like it was seasoned perfectly, the gravy was surprisingly light and delicious. I’m 1000% going back.
I sincerely doubt the bad reviews are from him, the plates aren’t even the same. I met his Mom too and she was really sweet! Made the experience even better ?

“They hooked me up! Delicious food; good portions. I usually get oxtail from Jamaican restaurants. I'd say it's one of the top of the restaurants I've eaten from.

That said, oxtail is generally an expensive meat to buy and can be hard to cook right. So, it can be difficult to find places like this that give you a decent amount. And I've orderd from them a few times, so I can say their potion size is generally consistent from what I've seen.“

“The name of this restaurant is so fitting bc when I tell you the food sent me back to Montego Bay??? I haven’t had jerk chicken that good since I visited Jamaica in 2024. “Jerk chicken this weekend was great. Time before this was terrible. I have been here several times and it is seemingly hit or miss. Depends on who cooked the food. Jerk chicken, cabbage and plantains. All delicious this time. Hopefully it can remain consistent as its a treat when its good.

Patties most times good…had a couple of misses. Too mushy on the misses. They actually don’t do too bad with mac n cheese which is a first for me from a WI restaurant. Its not great but its not at all bad.
Overall, we will continue to support. The cashiers are always very pleasant as well…especially the young man…he is refreshingly delightful. IYKYK when it comes to the Jamaican spots….“
