“This place always has a line. Made me wonder exactly what was so special about the patties they were selling...LOL My first time there I got the mild Beef Patty With Cheese but the cheese detracted from the taste of the beef itself. Next I got the Curry chicken patty and the Spinach patty...both Very very good. So much so that the last time I went I ordered a regular mild Beef Patty and another Spinach patty which was surprisingly flavorful. Now I know why there's always a line. Also the tv screen with the Live Feed of a street in Jamaica adds a nice touch. I'd definitely go back there again.“

“I came here twice and I must say that the curry goat and fried chicken is the best. I order a medium curry goat with white rice and a side of fried chicken. 10/10. But for $26?! The issue is that you can’t really get what you want. Hear me out for example… you can’t get a small order of oxtail….like?! You can only get a medium size with a side. It’s overpriced. Just by looking at it I can tell it’s not even worth the price. Also if you get like a medium size meal with any meat and rice you can’t get it with plantain. It’s extra charge. BUT I WILL SAY THAT THE PORTION IS WORTH IT. THEY GIVE MORE. I’ve tried the Mac and cheese and it was baaaadd. Just cheese and unseasoned roux. That’s if they use roux. It’s oily and you can’t even see or smell a spec of seasoning. Taste like a sweet treat no shade. The fried chicken though I give that 15/10. Tastes better than Kennedys. The goat meat falls off the bonnnneeee. The rice is perfect; not too mushy and not too rough. I’m on my way there right now😂😂. Is it worth trying? Hell yeah. The Mac and cheese though.. that’s to your advantage.“

“Went and met the owner and her husband beautiful people. You can literally smell the goodness of the food and the love of the people which is a beautiful thing and you don’t get often and I finally had curry goat, and it was amazing. I even bought a whole dinner meal once I tried one piece of it beautiful beautiful cooking you must try it.“

“I had no problems here. Prices were excellent for the two meals and the portions I received were more than enough. Location is perfect since it's right near the train station. So if you're in a rush, they'll definitely take care of you. Coming here again for sure.“

“I absolutely LOVE the food. I got a plate with oxtails, rice & peas, plantains and he makes sure your plate is full. Everything tasted like it was seasoned perfectly, the gravy was surprisingly light and delicious. I’m 1000% going back.
I sincerely doubt the bad reviews are from him, the plates aren’t even the same. I met his Mom too and she was really sweet! Made the experience even better ?

“I absolutely love this spot! Any time I am in the Bronx I have to stop in and get my favorite curry chicken with rice(lathered in that curry gravy) and peas and cabbage😋…. My wife’s favorite dish is the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage of course. Their fried chicken goes well with brown stew chicken gravy. I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stewed chicken, Mac and cheese is also really good. I have been meaning to try the salmon and their shrimp, I think that will be next. I will say aside from that, you can expect friendly service. Atmosphere is calming 🤗 did I say I love this place? 😬“

“Talk about the best Jamaica restaurant in the Northeast Bronx. Whatever is on the menu, it’s finger licking. Good customer service . Fast service , you will be in and out .. They give you a lot of oxtail gravy lol . The steam fish , fry chicken and oxtail is a must when you go there .“

“Love this spot…second time visiting back to back, Im addicted to the flavors yummy yummy in my tummy😋…the staff are all very polite, also taking the time out to explain the portions of their different dishes & just good vibes all around. I definitely will recommend this spot to friends & love ones.

“Went here because a restaurant we usually visit was closed 40 minutes before it’s closing time. Never been here and didn’t hear from anyone, just saw the reviews, I was close by and so what the hec, I decided to give it a try. Wow! Did not disappoint!! Ordered a large oxtails with rice & peas, unfortunately they were out of sweet plantains but the food was Deeeelicious! Yum, The rest of the food on dispuslso looked good. Yum! Great spot and service was superb. If you’re in the area or just want some slamming Jamaican food, stop at Flamez and enjoy! You’re welcome lol

“The taste of the breakfast: porridge, ackee n saltfish is superb: 5 stars. The portions are amazing. The service is okay, but they run out of breakfast quickly. The atmosphere doesn't look very inviting. It says: come in, get your food and get out. The place is dim and could use a face lift. I notice a lot of caribbean restaurants around here are kinda dim.Recommend visiting on the early side if you want don't want to leave empty handed.“

Jamaican women aren’t always the friendliest ppl to deal with. I only go to this place as a convenience spot from the 5 train. I wouldn’t choose it as my go to!“

“Ordered fried chicken and beef soup, they didn't have the soup and I really appreciate the effort that was put into not just calling to update me but the extra step that Sherene took to call Uber Eats so I could be refunded. As always the food was delicious and very well packaged.“

“Jerk chicken this weekend was great. Time before this was terrible. I have been here several times and it is seemingly hit or miss. Depends on who cooked the food. Jerk chicken, cabbage and plantains. All delicious this time. Hopefully it can remain consistent as its a treat when its good.
Their plantains are always good.
Patties most times good…had a couple of misses. Too mushy on the misses. They actually don’t do too bad with mac n cheese which is a first for me from a WI restaurant. Its not great but its not at all bad.
Overall, we will continue to support. The cashiers are always very pleasant as well…especially the young man…he is refreshingly delightful. IYKYK when it comes to the Jamaican spots….“
