“I arrived to the location recommended by a friend who’s considering this location as a b day rendezvous in the near future.

Parking: there’s parking available in a well lit parking lot directly behind the building. There are lights along the entire plaza outside. No major trash or debris. A small spot which still made us feel safe. There’s an entrance / exit there’s well as the front door. There’s parking directly on the main road. We saw a few spots available in the side streets which was a plus.

Business at 8 pm was busy and rustling. A few seats became available at the bar as the crowd rotated. We were promptly greeted by the bartender. We also made eye contact with a wait staff who also went behind the bar POS. The music was at a moderate volume featuring classic reggae sounds throughout the spot. The bar has about 12 seats. There’s are four tv displaying weekly pronouns and local sports. We ordered wings and fries. Both were bright crisp and hot. An indication that grease is rotated fresh. The panko batter for the wings was tasty.

The restroom is located at the back by the entrance. I did not have an opportunity to check this out. The dining room is bright white and modern. There’s a projector and a tv screen in the area. We are observed the climate control is fair with hot food in hot chafing dishes. There are windows which let light in at sunset.

We discussed future dinner plans with owner Jeff. He provided menu options for large parties. He has digital displays of food and menu plans which was impressive.

“Stopped by here for some quick Jamaican food and this place did not disappoint! Me and my sister ordered the oxtail (for her) and jerk chicken for me and it was so flavorful and the jerk was spicy and tender 😍 although the man who took my order made aware the Rasta pasta was going to take a while to make, i ended up opting out of it but he actually ended up adding some onto my plate as a second side and that was very kind of him!! So thank you for that, everything exceptional. Must go again.“

My go to is Brown Stew Chicken, Bone-In-Jerk Chicken comes with rice. I've ordered Chicken Patty, Vegetable Patty, Beef Patty delicious foods.“

“Food was great we ordered the fry chicken with rice and peas and salad. We originally wanted B-B fry but there was none . We got mild beef , ackee , vegetable and chicken patties as well. They were a little small and needed some more filling but they were tasty.“

I really wanted to soup but they had chicken soup with no corn. Anyways , I got curry goat, rice and peas, sweet chilly chicken, cabbage and plantain. Yum yum yum !! The food was so good! Even though the goat could have been a bit more tender, but it was still flavorful. I ate every bit of it! The food really hit the spot. I went back for patty but no patty. Not sure if it’s because it’s Sunday. Try this spot for authentic Jamaican flavor . No seating inside restaurant. Parking lot very dirty.“

The red pea soup taste good, fresh and authentic. The Stew chicken, jerk chicken, mac & cheese, and rice and peas, were all very tasty. I called in just to make sure the red pea soup did not contain pork. the gentleman that answered the phone was so polite. “While up there visiting family I went here. After the gym my sister wanted Ackee and saltfish. She wasn’t sure if they were open but they were-it was around 10:45 am on a Saturday. Listen I never ate here but def will be going back when I come back up. Their food is better than the Yardies on elmont rd. I got a saltfish fritter and has we were leaving the lady was bringing out lunch. We stopped in our tracks and got the freshest, tender jerk pork (we forgot to ask for a piece of the pepper) curry chicken and a chicken patty. Amazing and they def make the patty from scratch. Thanks Buffy Patty-delicious. I LOVE jerk pork and def will be buying to take bake to Tampa. Btw it’s not loud in there but the had the good vibes playing. However, I will definitely return as in addition to the wonderful customer service experienced on Saturday July 22 at around 4pm. The food was delicious!!! “Customer service was great over the phone. Amazing food. I ordered delivery (I didn’t do Uber eats, just called because I wanted the restaurant to receive 100% of the profit) and it came quick. I received a medium oxtail with macaroni and cheese. I would’ve taken a photo but it looked too good not to take a bite. I wish I got more oxtail because it was delicious!! The Mac and cheese was amazing — perfectly cheesy. I can’t wait to come back for more of their food options like the stew meat or even the banana bread (and tell everyone I know obviously)!

Edit: I got more food the next day! The stew chicken was as delicious as I hoped it would be alongside that AMAZING curry goat. The curry goat tasted like heaven — it tastes fresh off the island! The curry chicken was also very good and I got a great portion of everything. The standout had to be the beef patty which was the BEST Jamaican beef patty I’ve ever had. Now I got to buy one with every order!! I thought the bulla had a beautiful sweet spice to it. Perfect for any meal. Everyone I knew wanted a bite of the curry spiced bread as well. My sister said she’s going to order here everyday if she can ?. Overall, everything was perfect and I am glad there’s more yummy places to eat in this neighbourhood.

“Earlier this morning..... My first experience at Door Restaurant in the borough of Queens.... OMG I tried the Traditional Jamaican Breakfast: Liver, Saltfish, Callaloo, provisions omg. “I only order j*** pork & j*** chicken, and I most say that this is the BEST j*** chicken & pork I have EVER taste in America. I am hooked. It’s all about the flavor, and most restaurants just cook to sale, but Merrick J*** cook to please. They’re Potato pudding is good too.. not too sweet, but just right.

Let me say , the jerk salad was DELICIOUS. Definitely worth the money , the chicken was a little spicy , super flavorful and juicy . The mango’s and cucumbers in the salad were fresh. The side of Mac and cheese was the best I have had at any Caribbean restaurant in the entire area and I’ve lived here for over 20 years. I ordered the griot to stay, the legumes, and Bouillon to go. The griot was absolutely delicious and fresh, platains done well!! Now, when I got home and tasted the bouillon it felt like I was back home at Moms…OMG!! The legumes was the same … just like Moms. They give very nice portions and lots of meat.
