“The food at this restaurant is authentically Jamaican. I had a boat ride last year in Freeport, Long Island. The owner/chef not only delivered the food to my boatride but also helped to set up. This is by far some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. My guests raved about the food all night.This review is long overdue and I just realized that I hadn't written one. “Ordered from this place over the weekend, and I wasn't really impressed to be honest. I originally ordered oxtail with Rasta pasta and homemade ginger beer only to get a call 2 minutes later telling they didn't have Rasta pasta OR the homemade ginger beer. I had to get Mac and cheese instead. I won't lie they DEFINITELY made up for it because they gave me TWO drinks and a large oxtail instead of the medium I originally asked for. The food wasn't bad, the mac and cheese was oily...it wasn't anything I'd jump and holler for....but the customer service was good. They also packaged the food VERY well making sure none of it spilled which I also appreciated!“
“Was in the area for a Basketball turny. This place smelled so good I could not walk past without stopping. Went in and it smelled even better. I ordered the J*** Chicken (large) with red beans and rice, and cabbage. The portion was well worth the price. I thought the j*** had excellent flavor with a little bit of heat. Chicken was moist and not dried out. Rice was very good and had a little bit of gravy on it. Very pleased with my visit.“
“There's always the same food here, but it's also always consistently good so I like coming here for lunch from time to time. Buffet style set up, options range from whitefish and shrimp to curried & jerk chicken & oxtail. The Jamaican patties are always a nice treat too!“
“I eat at a lot of Jamaican restaurants but no one works as hard as this crew….. The line moves fast and the food is always consistently good. I’m a southern guy and normally don’t like everybody cabbage but y’all got the best steam cabbage in NY. Also everybody they accept Apple Pay. Chef Garfield inspires me to be the best chef I can be. “This is a business we have been patronizing for years as born West Indian restaurant. Finding a authentic West Indian restaurant is difficult over the last few years. The price has increased over the years but the cuisine is constant and delicious. We love the whole fish, soup, the rice and peas, rainbow cake, if you’re in the mood for a cocktail the bartenders are very excellent. Historically we would have the jerk chicken pork but we no longer eat chicken or pork but if you are in love her of that chicken and pork is delicious. If you’re in Jamaica Queens, are you just in the mood for some of them to Jamaican food the door is the best spot for brown stew fish, excovitch fish.“
