“I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

It was truly the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a very very long time and it was thanks to our waiter Jesus. He was very attentive and helpful. He saw that we had small children and helped us with their order first and then proceeded to take the rest of our orders. He really loved his job and was very warm and kind. The establishment as a whole is very nice and classy. Very grown and sexy. The music is perfect and the food was very good! The oxtail Lo Mein was so good. “Today I walked into Lucky’s and ordered the stewed chicken and curry chicken. I have no hesitation when saying this might be the best student curry chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. And believe me this is not my first curry, chicken or stewed chicken. The flavor on both the chickens were impeccable. The chicken was so tender, and could easily be picked off the bone. And the stew and curry complemented the soft rice beautifully. I will definitely be coming to Luckys again. This is my new favorite Jamaican food spot in New York City.“

“My church just hosted a fish fry. I shopped around everywhere to find a price that was right. All the prices that the big name restaurants gave me were unrealistic. I found this wonderful woman, owner of this beautiful restaurant. She was so polite, so helpful, and motivating when I felt like giving up on the event. I ordered 2 kinds of fish, 50 total, and that was the NICEST fish I’ve ever eaten. I could recommend this establishment to any party, any event, any anything lol. This is the place to be. she’s very efficient and I loved the entire experience with her.“

“The jerk here is pretty good but I just think its a bit on the pricey side. They smoke it right on the street in barrels so its cooked the right way & typically served with a slice of hard dough bread, so things are done in a correct way. I just can't come to terms with the price. If it was only a few dollars less.“

“It was a good experience, I went there initially to find out how much it would be for a small pan of BBQ chicken and it was way too much so I didn't order it but I did get half chowmein and half fried rice with BBQ chicken and it was really good. I'm Guyanese so they did a great job with the food.“

I’m unsure if it’s the owner or if it’s a manager who was speaking to me, but I came in today after seeing a disabled homeless man asking for food outside (he couldn’t come inside because his mobility scooter was too big) and i decided to go in and ask if they had soup. The lady looked outside, saw the man, rolled her eyes and straight up told me no. Regardless if she wasn’t lying or not, don’t give attitude to people who are consumers or potential consumers. You also should know how long your food takes to cook since I know this place has been open for a while. If food takes 3 hours to cook, you start making it before consumers come in. I ended up going somewhere else and buying this man some soup because no one deserves to be hungry and cold. Horrible service and attitude.“

“For Thanksgiving dinner we ordered a large pan of j*** salmon and a pan of Rasta pasta. The pasta was amazing and the salmon was even better! They don’t serve you small pieces of salmon... they were meaty! And made for great leftovers. When I visit New York again, Island Choiz will definitely be a go to.“

“Boston Jerk City is great! I've been to plenty of restaurants (especially carribean) and Boston Jerk City has by far been the best. The food is always consistantly good and the portions are very overwhelming but great if u like to enjoy the next day or later. I feel like the restaurant should have a more welcoming feel, the thick plastic glass between you & the server is sort of strange but I know its for there safety. But overall, I RECOMMEND BOSTON JERK CITY TO ALL.“

“I ordered a chicken soup I was craving all day and was looking for a restaurant that sells soup. This was Sunday after thanksgiving so none of the restaurants made soup. “I stop by here from time to time because my mom loves the soups and stews from here. The customer service could be better though, sometimes they're nice, other times you get attitude like they couldn't be bothered to serve you. Very hit or miss with the service but the food has always been good according to my mom and they have good pricing for there stuff. Check them out if you're in the mood for some good West Indian food in the neighborhood.“
