“Ordered curry chicken and roti via ubereats delivery. 5 stars for piping hot freshness. 5 stars for having a good flavor. 5 stars for a really soft and perfect Dahl puri. 1 star for the shards of bone fragments found throughout my food. Caribbeans cook meat on the bone, I get it. But shards of jagged dangerous bits of bone in food is not enjoyable! Train your cook. Have them cook the meat on the bone properly. If you must chop up the chicken, know how to cut it with customer safety in mind. So ridiculous. My photo shows all the pieces of bone found in my dish.“

“This is my go to stop especially for Doubles.
Love the doubles and Alou pie. If placing a big order especially for multiple doubles then I recommend to call ahead of time so they have it ready for you. Food is tasty and reminds me of Trinidad!“

“i woke up this morning and wanted some real authentic jamaican breakfast since I haven't had some good breakfast since I left my parent's home. I came here because the other jamaican restaurants weren't open for breakfast today... BEST CHOICE I MADE. I had callalloo, boiled dumpling, banana, and yam, with ackee and saltfish. BOY OH BOY! I'm definitely coming back. If it wasn't the food that is making me come back, it's definitely Kell's friendly demeanor. She was so welcoming and kind. It's always nice to see a friendly face in the morning so this was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my food and still have more left over. It was a good price for a great amount of food. Wow. “I’ve been to the OG spot in Negril and coming to the spot in the city took me back. The whole fried porgy was amazing with the escovitch and festivels. The lo mein was pretty good but we missed the jerk pasta. The Mac and cheese is always great and the ackee hummus was divine. Happy to have this option locally.“

“Absolutely one of the best jerk chicken lunch I’ve ever had in years. My mother ate their Oxtail stew dish and it was delicious too. Full flavoured food with excellent quality & portion. Friendly helpful staff are also welcoming. I bought the fried whiting fish fillets and some fried chicken wings to take home. Will definitely be back again to eat all the other dishes! Yummy ? proper jerk chicken with rice & beans that were moist not dry like other places we’ve tried in Manhattan.

“THIS FOOD IS DELICIOUS! I read previous reviews and seen how I didn’t see any bad ones so I decided to try it out and let me just say this was amazing. I got the jerk chicken with rice and peas and cabbage(the Mac and cheese wasn’t with my order, I got it elsewhere because I’m pregnant and was craving it). Everything was fresh tasting. The jerk had the perfect amount of spice. Nothing was extremely salty or bland. Perfect seasoning for everything. Definitely will be trying again !“

“I grew up eating Jamaican food and this is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant that I’ve been to in Brooklyn! The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. I’ve had the jerk shrimp, curry shrimp roti, jerk salmon, and other items and the food is always fresh, tasty, and plentiful. They sell juices and cake which are also amazing. I’ve been going here once a week since the pandemic started and I’m always so excited to get my food. The owner is amazing and is dedicated to always providing five star service and food.“

“I was in the area and I did a search for Caribbean food. I clicked on this place and saw that they had a 4.6/5. I clicked on the review section and the first one that I read said that’s it’s the best she’s ever had in NY, then went on to specify that the Oxtail specifically is what she was raving about. Turns out that’s exactly what I was in the mood for. I went there around 1:30pm on a Wednesday, it wasn’t crowded at all. Nothing fancy inside or out but it’s a tad about a hole in the wall. I ordered the Oxtail with white rice and I ordered their in-house fruit punch. It was already bottled and sealed. A nice older lady served me and she was very polite. The other two men that worked alongside her seemed very nice as well. The Oxtail was really good but it’s not the best that I had in NY. However I do feel comfortable recommending it to people. Parking is a pain, because there is some sort of collision repair nearby, and they have all their cars taking up the parking spots“

I had to come back and edit my previous review regarding my missing item. They were able to rectify the situation with no issue. My sister picked up the food for me as I do not live in the area but she does and she said the customer service was so good that she would come back and try the place herself.
The curry chicken was delicious! Whenever I’m in the area I will stop by and grab some food for the road.

“I’ve been here twice and gotten the oxtails with, plantains and rice and beans. The flavor is out of this world and the oxtail is incredibly tender. They were also generous with their portion sizes. I really enjoyed the meal so much! They offer a lunch special, medium and large size for dishes.“

“Ran 13.1 miles from LIC to this place. It’s 3.5 miles away so I had to take some detours to get in my long run (took queens bridge, 59th street cross town to west side, Hudson River park down to canal, then cross town two Williamsburg bridge). About 8 miles in, I wanted to stop and get refreshments, but the thought of trying the food at this place kept me going.

Wow was it worth it. I ordered the large combo platter with stewed oxtail and curry goat. AMAZING flavors and great texture. The oxtail was very tender. The sauces were both excellent on rice. Even the veggies were seasoned perfectly. Got another oxtail platter to go. Was disappointed that the jerk chicken were temporarily sold out when I tried to order for to go. Told the amazing ladies behind the counter that I had waned to have my toddler try the jerk chicken. One went to the back and came back with 2 small pieces of jerk chicken even though the rest were still cooking - that’s great service!

I wasn’t able to finish my large combo plate. On top I had 2 more dishes I ordered for to go. The lady knew how to combine and pack the bags for me. Everything stayed intact through my subway trip back to LIC.

“Tasted the jerk pork and jerk chicken including the wings, the macaroni and cheese, Rasta pasta, potato salad, macaroni salad and oxtails all in one sit down and everything was absolutely amazing. My meal was only $39 including a sorrel and I would definitely be visiting again.“

They were turning tables quickly and there is also a bar to sit out. Tight seating all around and there is outside seating as well for nicer days. Service was attentive, quick, and nice. “This is a great place to eat. Vendors are friendly and food is really good. The j*** chicken was my favorite (really hot, yes!) and the rice is soft, well cooked. They also have a variety of salad mix. The potato salad was really good. I'm not a fish eater but even the seafood smell good. Price is reasonable, I think it's 9$ a pound but less money if the weight is less. It's definitely worth it.

“This is some pretty good Jamaican food located in the middle of Manhattan. I highly recommend their patties, and the jerk chicken burrito and the chicken roti burrito were both phenomenal. The staff is always awesome and friendly. Love these guys so much. The pricing is pretty good for what you get.

For adult beverages they have fantastic alcoholic cold drinks like a coconut and rum punch. And it definitely has a punch.
