“Nestled in a small neighborhood, the location is unassuming but is a neighborhood gem. They have all of the traditional Caribbean eats plus a few items that I've never seen before. The ox tails were spectacular (will go back for those) and the mac n cheese was snap! The rice and peas were a little al dente and unfortunately the greens were gritty (not in any way saying that they are all the time, just happened to be this time) but had super great flavor and perfect texture. I will need going back to try more of their selection next time I'm in Bayonne,NJ“

“The chef deserves a medal for grinding and cooking in this heat wave in such small quarters. The heat didn't affect his attitude at all though! He was so pleasant. I ordered the small ox tail plate that came with rice and beans and 2 big pieces of sweet plantain. I requested the Jamaican slaw which was a mixture of macaroni and cabbage and seasoning that I loved. The mac n cheese was exactly what a mac n cheese should be. Dense and delicious! The neighborhood really benefits from people like this sharing their culture and flavor so thank you!“

“The Jamaican Jerk Chicken tastes like baby back ribs, but in a way - (in my opinion) it's better, since it's chicken and not pork. It has that smoky, smoked-spicy baby back rib flavor but with a kick of Jamaican spices. Very tasty.

The food is consistently delicious and made to order — no food sitting out on a heater waiting for someone to order. “Have been trying this place for a while now, and must say, O Cookshop, is pretty damn good. My favorite is their, Rasta Pasta, and their Oxtails. In this specific review, I had ordered their, Large Oxtails, w/ Rasta Pasta, & Cabbage, and a side of, Mac n Cheese. The oxtails are extremely flavorful, can have a bit of fatty pieces sometimes, but the oxtails are cooked until tender, and they overall work well into the gravy. Their Rasta Pasta is fantastic too. Al dente noodles, and the sauce has such nice Alfredo flavoring with a bit of a kick. The cabbage is cooked to a nice crispness and is always a pleasant addition to any combination you can come up with. Not to mention their, Mac n Cheese. It is so damn good. It’s creamy, but still has that Baked Mac structure to it, it is also seasoned well too. Absolutely love this place. “Today I walked into Lucky’s and ordered the stewed chicken and curry chicken. I have no hesitation when saying this might be the best student curry chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. And believe me this is not my first curry, chicken or stewed chicken. The flavor on both the chickens were impeccable. The chicken was so tender, and could easily be picked off the bone.
