“I’m so happy I came across this Jamaican restaurant! Every dish here is freshly prepared. Not sure who the chef is here, but give that man a raise! Lol….authentic Jamaican food is definitely a big plus for this location. They give you many options aside from their famous rice and peas with a side of chicken. They also have a variety of soups on their menu. Their prices are very fair and for that reason I will definitely be back, and this time for some good ol’ oxtails! The establishment is very clean, and the staff is very polite. Only bad thing I can say is, why didn’t I come here sooner!!!! Guys keep up the great work. You’ve gained a repeat customer. “I’ve order for the past two days the chicken and beef soup because I’ve been sick. It is some of the best Jamaican soup I’ve had in awhile that’s really good besides home ?. I appreciate you guys reaching out for my Uber eats order letting me know that it was going to be awhile. The little things always count and go a long way. “Stopped in for a takeout order. We had the jerk chicken combo and jerk shrimp combo with rice & peas, plantains and cabbage and collards. We also added a side of Mac & Cheese Au Gratin (so good!), plus a buch of different sauces. Food was excellent and servings are very generous.“

“I visited Sashey's for the first time on April 23 and I must say the food I ordered (curry goat with rice and peas and a brown stew fish) was excellent! In addition, the customer service was on point. I definitely will return again. Take my word, if you want good, authentic Jamaican food, Sashey's is the place.“

“It's a small location on Oak Street and the food can be smelled from miles away. Once you enter, you'll see why there's a line and once you taste the food, you'll want to go back. The oxtail, the curried goat, the jerk chicken and the fried chicken are simply done right. They're delectable and flavorful. One of the main things I appreciate is, they're warm and inviting. You don't get a bad attitude from them. One last thing, I've never in my life heard of oxtail soup and it was phenomenal 😋“

A medium plate of jerk chicken, rice and collard greens cost me about $18, but you can tell by the long lines that the food is worth it. The pair are patient and friendly. Support your local black owned businesses! 10/10 will have again.“

“Came in around 8pm after worked, tired from work, didn’t want to travel for my normal place I go for my west Indian food , I find this little gem and ordered to my dietary standards, got curry goat and all veggies and food was fresh tasting and very well seasoned and tender, was a bit surprised as I don’t like trying new places , definitely will be back to try different menu options, service is great and a welcoming atmosphere.. “I went in for the STEWED PEAS (By far my favorite 😍) and ended up getting Jerk Chicken as well. The Stew Peas ABSOLUTELY NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! I'm however not a fan of the Jerk Chicken. Its ok but more oven baked and the sauce is not for me. I will still be a Alice's for Life!!! STEW PEAS 5/5 & Jerk chicken 3.5/5. My personal issues with the Jerk may not matter to someone else. The bathroom was also 👌 Very very clean. THANK YOU!!! You must know CASH or Velle only no Credit cards!!! BTW I ate to fast to take pics :)“

“Impressed by the indoor fire pit. I ordered the jerk salmon and peas and rice. I usually have left overs the next day. I’ve been eating on this tray all night! It’s that good! No left overs. I’m so excited to find a place with good food. Ever since I gave up mast (one year today), my options have been extremely limited. 10/10 recommended!“

“This place has in this town for 28 years, there is a reason why they have been around so long. The owner is this wonderful sweet lady that, she is definitely Jamaican be a those Pattie’s hit different. The oxtails are succulent and falls off the bones, the plantain’s are sweet and crispy on the edges. If you’re looking for delicious Jamaica food go here, always call before you go because she starts cooking in the morning and at times the food isn’t ready until after 12pm but it’s very much worth the wait. ????The prices are very reasonable but those Pattie’s are to die for.“

The portion size for the price is very generous. *UPDATE* Coming back just to say, this place is SOOOO good, I’ve been coming here since college 4 years ago. It’s the closest to tasting like home. The owner cooks everything himself and he is so nice! I recently tried them for catering my birthday party and it all came out fresh, plentiful, and delicious. I have two bulk orders with then so far and you literally cannot find better pricing anywhere else + they are on time every time. If you want truly authentic, fresh off the island taste. “I love this place. The food is always hot and fresh. Every time I have come to this restaurant I was pleased with the food served. The part that keeps me coming back is not just the food. One morning, I got there at the time of opening. There was a woman praying and she would not open that door til she finished her prayer. Then she proceeded to wipe the place down with Florida. I am not Christian but, I respect that highly. This restaurant is also extremely clean. No matter what time I come into this restaurant, it is always clean. Always. It is best to come when you are not in a rush.“

“Nestled in a small neighborhood, the location is unassuming but is a neighborhood gem. They have all of the traditional Caribbean eats plus a few items that I've never seen before. The ox tails were spectacular (will go back for those) and the mac n cheese was snap! The rice and peas were a little al dente and unfortunately the greens were gritty (not in any way saying that they are all the time, just happened to be this time) but had super great flavor and perfect texture. I will need going back to try more of their selection next time I'm in Bayonne,NJ“
