“The Jamaican Jerk Chicken tastes like baby back ribs, but in a way - (in my opinion) it's better, since it's chicken and not pork. It has that smoky, smoked-spicy baby back rib flavor but with a kick of Jamaican spices. Very tasty.

“I saw that one review from the person saying their oxtail was bad, but saw a plethora of positive reviews standing against it. I decided to give them a go and do NOT regret it! Lovely little spot for a late night meal! The cashier was very pleasant with a great attitude. I came by after finding my Airbnb and ordered 3 empanadas: Jerk Chicken, Salmon, & Oxtail. This is not a standard menu option, but she told me I could mix and match :)

I loved it!!! WONDERFULLY tasty food and a perfect crisp to the empanadas - not too hard and not too soft/mushy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

Made me wonder exactly what was so special about the patties they were selling...LOL My first time there I got the mild Beef Patty With Cheese but the cheese detracted from the taste of the beef itself. Next I got the Curry chicken patty and the Spinach patty...both Very very good. So much so that the last time I went I ordered a regular mild Beef Patty and another Spinach patty which was surprisingly flavorful. Now I know why there's always a line. Also the tv screen with the Live Feed of a street in Jamaica adds a nice touch. I'd definitely go back there again.“

“The chef deserves a medal for grinding and cooking in this heat wave in such small quarters. The heat didn't affect his attitude at all though! He was so pleasant. I ordered the small ox tail plate that came with rice and beans and 2 big pieces of sweet plantain. I requested the Jamaican slaw which was a mixture of macaroni and cabbage and seasoning that I loved. The mac n cheese was exactly what a mac n cheese should be. Dense and delicious! “Today I walked into Lucky’s and ordered the stewed chicken and curry chicken. I have no hesitation when saying this might be the best student curry chicken I’ve ever tasted in my life. And believe me this is not my first curry, chicken or stewed chicken. The flavor on both the chickens were impeccable. The chicken was so tender, and could easily be picked off the bone. I’m unsure if it’s the owner or if it’s a manager who was speaking to me, but I came in today after seeing a disabled homeless man asking for food outside (he couldn’t come inside because his mobility scooter was too big) and i decided to go in and ask if they had soup. The lady looked outside, saw the man, rolled her eyes and straight up told me no. Regardless if she wasn’t lying or not, don’t give attitude to people who are consumers or potential consumers. You also should know how long your food takes to cook since I know this place has been open for a while. If food takes 3 hours to cook, you start making it before consumers come in. I ended up going somewhere else and buying this man some soup because no one deserves to be hungry and cold. Horrible service and attitude.“

“I absolutely love this spot! Any time I am in the Bronx I have to stop in and get my favorite curry chicken with rice(lathered in that curry gravy) and peas and cabbage😋…. My wife’s favorite dish is the oxtail with rice and peas and cabbage of course. Their fried chicken goes well with brown stew chicken gravy. I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry goat, brown stewed chicken, Mac and cheese is also really good. I have been meaning to try the salmon and their shrimp, I think that will be next. I will say aside from that, you can expect friendly service. Atmosphere is calming 🤗 did I say I love this place? 😬“
