“Came in today for a jerk salad and a side of Mac and cheese . The server innocently rang it up as pasta but they corrected the error with no problem and were very nice about it . Let me say , the jerk salad was DELICIOUS. Definitely worth the money , the chicken was a little spicy , super flavorful and juicy . The mango’s and cucumbers in the salad were fresh. The side of Mac and cheese was the best I have had at any Caribbean restaurant in the entire area and I’ve lived here for over 20 years. Definitely a great experience and I will be coming back for more !!!“

“I got delivery through GrubHub and it was really good. I chose mild for my wife's sake, but the flavor still was NOT lacking. The curry goat was deliciously strong in both curry and goat. The roti was one of the best I've had. The oxtail was exactly what I hoped for. Even the rice and peas impressed me. This was the best Caribbean meal I've had in a long time“

“I picked up food here for the first time and Auntie was so incredibly welcoming. She was happy to let me sample a handful of the dishes they were serving, all of which were delicious.

The oxtail here is just phenomenal. The depth of flavor of the gravy was such a standout. My rice and peas were covered in it and I wish I had more!

The jerk chicken was incredibly tender and the sweet and spicy sauces were a great compliment.

The fresh pine ginger drink is a must have and the homemade coco bread was pillowy soft.

The chef is an absolute pro here when it comes to salinity. The seasoning was spot on for every entree without any lingering saltiness.“

“visited Paradise Jerk Jamaican Restaurant for the first time today and decided to try the cornmeal porridge and an order of sweet plantain. I have to say, I was very impressed! The porridge was smooth, creamy, and full of authentic Jamaican flavor seasoned just right with the perfect balance of sweetness and spice. It had that comforting, homemade taste that instantly reminded me of traditional island cooking. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. The portion was generous, and the food came out hot and fresh. “My family and I have been going to Uncle Don’s Kitchen for the past 4 years. One and only best Jamaica restaurant located in Hicksville. The staff is friendly and personal with every customer. They make you feel welcomed and appreciates customers. The food is perfectly portioned and tastes flavorful and fresh. They do make a very unique chicken with Mac and Cheese that I ask for all the time since my kids love them. The stew chicken, jerk chicken and fried chicken with rice and peas are on point. I love their escovitch snapper with rice and peas and one of the best I had. We will always be repeat customers.“

“I come here often. The food is definitely a bit overpriced but it is good and consistent. The customer service is great as well, compared to other Jamaican spots.

With that being said I got there the other day in the perfect time slot to get the lunch special. I asked about it and the lady said “we don’t have the lunch special right now”. I was so confused. If yall don’t want to offer it please TAKE THE DAMN SIGN DOWN. What’s the point in having it up?

“I only order j*** pork & j*** chicken, and I most say that this is the BEST j*** chicken & pork I have EVER taste in America. I am hooked. It’s all about the flavor, and most restaurants just cook to sale, but Merrick J*** cook to please. They’re Potato pudding is good too.. not too sweet, but just right.

“Customer service was great over the phone. Amazing food. I ordered delivery (I didn’t do Uber eats, just called because I wanted the restaurant to receive 100% of the profit) and it came quick. I received a medium oxtail with macaroni and cheese. I would’ve taken a photo but it looked too good not to take a bite. I wish I got more oxtail because it was delicious!! The Mac and cheese was amazing — perfectly cheesy. I can’t wait to come back for more of their food options like the stew meat or even the banana bread (and tell everyone I know obviously)!

Edit: I got more food the next day! The stew chicken was as delicious as I hoped it would be alongside that AMAZING curry goat. The curry goat tasted like heaven — it tastes fresh off the island! The curry chicken was also very good and I got a great portion of everything. The standout had to be the beef patty which was the BEST Jamaican beef patty I’ve ever had. Now I got to buy one with every order!! I thought the bulla had a beautiful sweet spice to it. Perfect for any meal. Everyone I knew wanted a bite of the curry spiced bread as well. My sister said she’s going to order here everyday if she can ?. Overall, everything was perfect and I am glad there’s more yummy places to eat in this neighbourhood.

“I was in the neighborhood on the mall close by. I was really hungry so of course Jamaican food would do. Was a bit skeptical because it said Silver Krust on Google but the sign onsite says something else. Anyway, the woman serving looked very Jamaican (lol) and sounded very Jamaican with the ghetto flare attitude so I am like alright this food is good. Gotta be good (lol). I really wanted to soup but they had chicken soup with no corn. Anyways , I got curry goat, rice and peas, sweet chilly chicken, cabbage and plantain. Yum yum yum !! The food was so good! Even though the goat could have been a bit more tender, but it was still flavorful. I ate every bit of it! The food really hit the spot. I went back for patty but no patty. “It was around 2:30 AM and I was trying to figure out what to eat when I remembered that Peppa's Restaurant is open until 4 AM. I'il be honest, I was a little skeptical about ordering food that late because I didn't want anything old or reheated. But wow-I was completely wrong.
I ordered the Rasta pasta with escovitch fish, and my husband had the rice and peas with jerk chicken and festivals. When I tell you everything was so fresh, it honestly felt like we were eating earlier in the day. The food came out hot, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The fish and chicken was seasoned just right, and every bite was very, very, very tasty.
Peppa's definitely proved that late-night food doesn't have to be low quality. I'll 100% be ordering again.“

“Very good food. The 2 ladies were very nice polite and gave me fast service. The reviews are very misleading. Best food in the neighborhood. Oxtails tender and very good price and amount of food. Update I went back twice the stewed chicken is dry and then the plate of oxtails was not the same size lots of rice little meat. They were still nice but I decided not to make this a reg place I eat“
