“First I have to say, this restaurant looks great. The renovations are well done. It’s clean and spacious. I got a stew chicken platter with rice, peas, and plantains. The food was wonderful. The owner was super sweet to me and told me all about the breakfast options. I came back today to try it out and the door was locked. It was 8:50am. I was like noooo! lol. I know things happen. This place has great food and great service. I’ll try again for the breakfast. lol.“

“I’ve just had my third meal at Tony Mac’s in as many days, and again I was not disappointed!??? For lunch I had the curry goat which comes well-seasoned with rice and peas, steamed veggies and plantain. To drink I had a number 5 Sea Moss drink called “The Mac Body Heat” to wake up the body made of - Sea Moss, wheat germ, oats, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, roots and something called tigerbone! ???The waitress noted to me on the way out “Look after your wife tonight, the next day you might be getting a welcome visitor from the Creator!Great meal and the medium was mighty big for the money -$25 for the meal and drink! Highly recommended for great food, Garnett Silk music while you wait and the baby maker shake!!!!?????????Honey I’m home!????“

“Visited from Orlando,Florida and was in the mood for some Guyanese homemade food for brunch. We ate here and they had a wide variety of food options from doubles, cook up, bake and salt fish and various curries paired with The best tasting roti I have had in a long time. We ended it all off with some very tasty Pastries that are homemade in store. The owner Serita is very hospitable and made sure we had everything and that we were well taken care of! If you are ever in the Queens/Long Island area I highly encourage you to stop in for a hearty meal“

“I had the Bulgur with spinach (Lalo and blè) at Tati Jo’s, and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly seasoned, fresh, and full of flavor in every bite. The dish tasted homemade but elevated, the kind of food that makes you feel both satisfied and cared for. On top of that, the customer service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Tati Jo’s is the kind of place where the food and the people make you want to come back again and again.“

“Stopped here on a Sunday night as they were about to close they were pretty much out of everything. Kerry Ann was kind enough to make us some fresh fried fish and chicken topped it off with some extras. Super amazing customer service. Their coconut drops and peanut cake reminded me so much of back home, jamaica. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely stop by if I'm ever in the area.“

“My family and I have been going to Uncle Don’s Kitchen for the past 4 years. One and only best Jamaica restaurant located in Hicksville. The staff is friendly and personal with every customer. They make you feel welcomed and appreciates customers. The food is perfectly portioned and tastes flavorful and fresh. They do make a very unique chicken with Mac and Cheese that I ask for all the time since my kids love them. The stew chicken, jerk chicken and fried chicken with rice and peas are on point. I love their escovitch snapper with rice and peas and one of the best I had. We will always be repeat customers.“

“I just tried the oxtail Mac n cheese and it was a hit. Reminded me of my own I make at home that takes hours. I caught the special for $5 which is a steal. Night pepper steak too. Tender with a hint of spice. Added curry chicken gravy on the rice.
I will definitely be back to try the jerk chicken sandwich on cocoa bread with jerk sauce.“

“We catered from Trini Bites for a brunch with friends to celebrate our recent wedding. Working with Renee was an absolute pleasure. From start to finish, she was attentive and responsive. We knew we wanted to cater Trini food as my husband is Trini and I felt the stakes were high to make sure everything went well! And Renee delivered on every front.
The food was an absolute smash hit -- no tray was left untouched or unpolished, and we even sent folks home with to-go containers as they loved the food so much. Particular favorites were the stew chicken, the buss up shot, the mini doubles, and the curry chana and potatoes. Renee made sure that our dietary preferences were met, which was no small feat as we had vegetarians, vegans, kosher-observant (no shellfish), and halal-observant (no pork or pork byproducts) in attendance!
If you've ever been curious Trini food or simply want to serve something different for your party or gathering, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend working with Renee and Trini Bites at all.“

“Food was good, however the birthday girl had to wait longer than everyone else for her food. When her food eventually came out it was cold.
Drinks were okay but not strong enough. Has to ask for an extra shot to take away the sweetness.
Overall, a nice hole in the wall spot. Can’t accommodate a group bigger than six.“

“If I hadn’t peeked over the counter, I might never have realized this was a Jamaican restaurant. Aside from a few small Jamaican flags—which I didn’t immediately spot—the predominantly red signage doesn’t clearly reflect the Jamaican cuisine they offer.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my “small” portion of curry chicken with rice and peas, which many other places would probably consider medium-sized. Priced reasonably at $14.39, including a bottle of water, it was great value. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, while the rice and peas were expertly prepared, with just the right touch of coconut to bring out the traditional flavors.
The server, Alicia, was both polite and engaging, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
My only suggestion is that they make it more obvious to passersby that this is a Jamaican restaurant—perhaps by adding more green, black, and yellow to their signage.“
