“I just tried the oxtail Mac n cheese and it was a hit. Reminded me of my own I make at home that takes hours. I caught the special for $5 which is a steal. Night pepper steak too. Tender with a hint of spice. Added curry chicken gravy on the rice.
I will definitely be back to try the jerk chicken sandwich on cocoa bread with jerk sauce.“

I had the oxtail with rice and peas, and it was fall-off-the-bone tender with just the right amount of seasoning. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the vibe inside made me feel like I was right back in the islands. Definitely my new go-to spot for Jamaican food. Highly recommend!“

“I was craving fried fish tonight . I just had to have it. Im scrolling through Yelp trying to find a place to eat fish and then I scrolled upon her. Maxine's On The Boulevard. I was driving and looking for this place. It wasn't lite up, sign was dark, but I caught the name Maxine and I said that's it, made a u turn, and parked around the corner. I thought to myself this is a hole in the wall. People where coming in and out of this place. I called a head of time and asked if they had catfish and whiting and she said yes. Baby, let me tell you I ordered my food and that was one of the best fish and chicken I had in queens so far. This is going to be my soul food spot from now and I hope they stay consistent. This place is a must try.“
