“I went to a family friend’s 70th birthday party they hosted in the Atlantic ballroom. The space was modern and very clean. The food was DELICIOUS!!! And the workers, Yiselle, Estrellita, and Shorty (blonde) made the event so memorable! They paid attention to every detail, whether it was filling our water cups, collecting unused plates and of course they did it all with a warm smile. They were kind, funny and very welcoming. I had a wonderful time! Thank you Yiselle, Estrellita and shorty!!!“

“I've been visiting Johnny's for over 30+years. Today I went for a lobster roll which replaced the shrimp roll. last year this lobster was so delicious 😋 couldn't wait till the summer. unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. it is not longer on a garlic bun and now served on a plain hot dog bun :( also flavorless! last yr price was $24 and now up to $28 with no flavor and blah bun. please bring back the recipe from years before. thanks“

“Best fried or steamed fish you will ever have from a store front. And seriously maybe the cheapest. My go to is the fried flounder sandwich, $5 today, sometimes $6 cash for two huge pieces depending upon market price. They give you the tarter and lemon and tons of other condiments and spices to put on yourself, just how you like it, before they neatly wrap it up and bag it for you. I always tip them two bucks. Been coming and thankful for them for the last 25 years when they used to be a block south. There are similar looking joints but none nearly as consistently good as Dyre Fish is. I have tried so many, hoping. It is the oil they dont allow to be used too long and the fresh fish picked up daily at Hunts Point Fish Market. And the prices have barely gone up in all that time.“

“What an incredible dining experience at The Silent Sea in City Island, Bronx! From the location to the atmosphere and, of course, the food, everything was outstanding!

The restaurant is perfectly situated right at the entrance to City Island, and having parking available in the back is a huge plus, especially in this area. The atmosphere alone deserves an 11 out of 10!

We started with several appetizers, and every single one was delicious. The Greek fries were hands down the best fries I’ve ever had! The tuna tartare was incredibly fresh, the fried calamari was cooked to perfection, and the fried sardines were absolutely delicious.

For dinner, we ordered the lobster and the baked branzino. Both dishes were exceptional, not only in flavor but also in presentation. You can tell that attention is given to every detail.

Overall, a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a beautiful setting. I highly recommend visiting The Silent Sea! Definitely a place worth coming back to!“

I no longer live in the Bronx, but I try and visit every time I come, and it never disappoints. I’ve been going to this spot for at least 20 years and I’m so glad it’s still around! lots of people coming in and out; additionally a ton of ubereats / grubhub orders- but the service is quick! a sweet old korean couple run this spot with two other gentlemen manning the fryer where they fry the fish fresh.

their seafood deluxe combo is solid: fried shrimp, whiting fish (i subbed flounder for $1.75 more), imitation crab sticks, and scallop cakes. you have the option of fries or rice; their veggie rice is nice.

if you’re taking it to go, make sure to ask for some sauces on the side!

“Very simple no-frills neighborhood seafood spot. Never tried the fresh food but their fried seafood dishes are simple but consistently fresh and tasty. Delivery orders filled promptly and packaged well. This place is nothing fancy but it's good, tasty basic fried seafood that gets my vote.“

“This was my first time ordering through GrubHub and I must say that this was one of the best seafood taste I've had since I've been in New York.. I actually call the restaurant just to get some information and the service over the phone was amazing.. I'm from down south and I know what seafood needs to taste like and the shrimp and fish I had was excellent the shrimp was sweet fried to perfection.. sometimes I'm a little bit nervous ordering seafood through GrubHub or doordash or any of them but actually the delivery process the GrubHub was probably one of the best that I've had and I'm going to normally doordash fan he delivered the food the food was hot when I got it all the condiments was in it that I needed I didn't have to ask for.. I will order again I mean the plate overall was excellent.. I just spent $300 somewhere yesterday that couldn't even compare to what I received today.. I can't wait to order again 😋“

“I am not one to review but I can't help myself with this one. I absolutely love oxtail, rice and peas with steamed veggies because my childhood best friend was from St Kitts.
BUT as the years went by I found myself not being able to eat ANYTHING remotely spicy at all. I've tried many restaurants in the Bronx but majority of the time I had to give away my order due to the spiciness. This is the 2nd time ordering from D'Melting Pot and I must BRAGGGG about it. I've never enjoyed a meal so much in a long time. Their food is absolutely mouth watering. 2nd time's a charm cause now I know I will not be disappointed at all. The sauce is so flavorful, oxtail is tenderly cooked to perfection, rice and peas are amazing and the steamed veggies are perfectly cooked, not soggy and not overly crisp. I give 100 stars!!!!!

“The food was great would have given 5 stars in the food category except my broiled seafood platter was crusted which made it just a little salty. I also ordered crab legs which didn't taste very fresh but tasted like they're been frozen. The food portion are good, with your order you get a variety of breads, corn of the to cob which was very good and rice. Also included is coffee ☕ and 🍵 tea. The alcoholic beverages are reasonably priced and mine margarita was great. Our server was great! As well as the others in the surrounding tables you could hear how pleasant, polite and attentive they all were.“
