In my defense, doesn't this mean my review of Le Petit Pecheur (which always makes me think of George Bizet's underrated opera, for all you Romantic Era nerds) wil be...purer? No annoying comparisons and such?

I digress. We came, we seafood-ed, we smiled.

- Fried Sardines: My favorite dish of the night. Perfectly breaded, lightly crispy, totally filling, yet not briney or heavy. I think I'm in love....

- Baba Ganoush + Hummus + Pita: I forget why we ordered these, but they were tasty and creamy and made a nice distraction while we waited for our entrees.

- Grilled Octopus: Perfectly chewy and zesty, exactly the kind of poulpe you might enjoy on the beachy coast of the southern Mediterranean.

- Scallops: Also well cooked, and tastier than they had any right to be considering the simple seasoning.

- Shrimp Linguine in butter garlic sauce: I mean, you really can't go wrong with a dish like this. My only regret was having to share it with five other friends.

- Branzino: Butterflied, tender and full of flavor. There are many branzino dishes out there. This one won't break the bank, and will leave both your stomach and your wallet happy.

If you need more, definitely pad your meal with Mashed Potatoes and Fries because carbs are happy things, and happy things deserve to be eaten.

Space is ample, as are the portions, and service is quick and friendly. They play a lovely mix of North African French and Arabic music, which just adds to the beachy resort town atmosphere, IMO. Perhaps one day I'll finally make it to Abuqir, and the cycle will be complete.“

“There are many excellent Greek restaurants in Astoria and Ambrosia Garden can hold its own with all of them. The decor is splendid. It feels like you are being teleported to an intimate Greek island. Pavlos, our server, was top notch. Every dish we had was on point. The meal started with fresh house baked bread and olive oil. Excellent. We then ordered the Hellenic salad, tzatziki, a couple of glasses of Cava and some wine. I ordered the grilled lamb chops, my wife and mother in law ordered two branzinos and my father in law ordered the cod special. I loved it all. My father in law thought that the cod was too salty and Pavlos was extremely apologetic. He proceeded to give us a couple of desserts on the house. Amazing. Each are done in house and they are special. We had a sticky cake layer topped with a cream and pistachio. It was divine and then we had their famous orange cake. So good. I finished off the meal with a perfect double espresso. Thank you Pavlos and thank you Ambrosia Garden for a wonderful experience.“

And let’s just say a time was had and the prefix menu had everything I like for 90min it’s unlimited Mimosa or Bellinis for 40$ what more can a girl ask for .. the DJ was on point too playing all the R&B hip hop brunch vibes us girls like… I was having too much fun so I didn’t get a chance to get pics next week I’ll be back hopefully I’ll get some pics but i doubt it… you know it’s a good vibe when there’s no pics just good memories and dope vibes..“

“Today June 24th I had lunch here with a friend. It was my first time. Passed this cafe but never tried it. Well the food was delicious, prices reasonable and the waitress Eloise was delightful! I had vegetable quesadella. My friend had an egg white vegetable omelet with hash browns. The portions are generous! Our waitress Eloise made the dining experience here pleasurable. Would definitely go back!“

“5/29 was my first time going to this restaurant for a birthday dinner and they did not disappoint at all. Its like they found a way to blend the astoria night live vibe with the service of formal steak house. Food was great, drinks were good but most of all the service was elite. My server's name was Chris. This man was on point with everything, professional and attentive so if you get the chance ask for Chris you wont be disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great food with good music. I will be returning soon!“

“I order from here on Grubhub and absolutely LOVE the oxtail, mango lemonade, and the fried shrimp. The food is tasty and the portions are good. I've never had an issue with my orders. The oxtail literally falls off the bone and the rice and peas is tasty on it's own. There's enough food to eat from it twice is you have a smaller appetite.“
